  1. i agree, when he talks he doesn't seem like he's that bad. unfortunately he can be incredibly boring, and thus people won't gravitate towards him. i'm rootin hard for Big Nog but i think Timmay pulls it out in the end. UFC 81 preview tonight at 11pm(est) on Spike
  2. i remember reading somewhere that Frankie Edgar was added to this card as well. Edgar should be first in line for title shot after Sherk.
  3. i dunno. there was a mini-debate in this thread about that match not too long ago. there are some people who post here who think Hendo will beat Silva
  4. i'll put my sig on the line for the Silva/Hendo fight. i'm taking Silva all the way
  5. i don't know of single person who is rooting for Sylvia. i'll be rooting like hell for Big Nog, but i see Sylvia taking it by decision  i'm hoping Lesnar does well against Mir, HW division needs some type of spark right now.
  6. National Geographic channel showed a Fight Science episode dedicated to MMA techniques. Bas Rutten has some ridiculous power.
  7. eddie has no killer instinct, good natural skills, but not a mean streak in him. He should follow kellerman's advice and drop to cruiserweight.
  8. two of the better young heavyweight prospects fight each other tonight on HBO: Alexander Potvetkin vs. Eddie Chambers
  9. only useful thread on sherdog is the .gif thread
  10. i don't think there's a person alive who likes Dana more than Randy  that being said, i still think Randy should've defended the belt against Nog. Randy has always had trouble against guys with good submissions. i think it would've been a great fight between the two, and i'm not sure who i would pick for that fight.
  11. it was a pretty good card overall. some nice prospects got featured (Eddie Alavarez & Paul Daley). also some pretty good KO's, the first fight in particular  .
  12. Showtime EliteXC comes on tonight. its basically a show that allows propsects coming up in mma to get a little exposure. nobody major will on the cards, but the couple of times i've watched in the past, the fights have usually been good.
  13. i'm with you 100%. i respect and admire Randy as a fighter, but as good as he is, people overrate him.
  14. Jones/Trinidad did 500,000 buys on ppv, exceeding all expectations.
  15. i was disappointed overall in the fight night, i expected better fights based on the names in the card.
  16. i was disappointed in Tavares tonight, he's usually more exciting hopefully he rebounds his next fight. he's got a lot of natural skill to be so young (only 23)
  17. Swick by TKO in the 2nd - handspeed will be too much for Burkman McFreidres by KO in the 2nd - basically comes down to who lands the big bomb first, i'm guessing Drew will. Tavares by submission in the 1st - this dude is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters. i rewatched his fight with Griffin a couple of times, and Tavares should've got the decision. hopefully next time they put him in with someone credible. i would love to see Tavares face Huerta:2cents: Diaz ain't KO'ng anybody man  , i'll say he wins by 3rd round sub -Robinson is good enough to keep this close and i wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out a win
  18. i hope they do get some better paydays because only then will you begin to see world-class boxing talent in mixed-martial arts. when you think about it, boxing is the only discipline in which mma can't claim to have the best talent in that particular discipline. we've seen bjj champions, olympic judokas, olympic wrestlers, muay thai champions, but never a top flight boxer in mma (no ray mercer don't count  ) until the payday's rise in mma, there won't be any top flight boxing talent in mma. mid-card level boxers make as much and in most cases more than the highest paid ufc fighters per fight.
  19. as big as the UFC is, its embarrassing some fighters are getting 3k to fight with another 3k IF they win.
  20. Mayweather made close to 25mil De La Hoya got closer to 40mil that fight was the single highest selling fight in boxing history
  21. UFC 80 gifs: Rivera vs. Grove: ^^^^Grove has one of the weakest chins in MMA, he's been the victim of a few highlight reel KO's Gouveia vs. Lambert: ^^^you couldn't see that angle in the live fight. that is a perfectly placed shot Davis vs. Liaudin: ^^^^time to give Davis somebody in the top10 to see where Davis really stands. He's one like 11 straight but not against quality comp. BJ Penn vs. Stevenson: ^^^alot of blood Penn is a vampire: Mother approved:
  22. i finally gave up on wrestling about a year ago. i've just accepted the fact that it will never be like it was again
  23. this is why Rampage is the man:
  24. i don't think Nog was unimpressive in the herring fight, he got caught with a stiff shot, other than that he controlled the entire fight
