  1. definitely, but the right man got the decision in my opinion.
  2. Flores beats Wilson wilson didn't look good at all, kept looking for the one-punch KO instead of working. flores was really just busier, didn't do much damage.
  3. darnell's always a good watch, probably had the knockout of the year last year. Paul Williams & Andre Berto are fighting in separate bouts on HBO After Dark tonight
  4. the PrideFC game for playstation 2 had a pretty good fighting system, and had damn near all the moves you see in MMA. that is by far the best MMA game to date. i'm taking Silva in that fight, so i'd be glad to do a sig bet.
  5. i wouldn't say Herring punked Nog, he caught him with a stiff kick. outside of that kick, he didn't do anything to Nog in that match. Herring lost 14min & 15secs of a 15min fight. this is why i want Randy to fight Big Nog now. Nog has been through alot of wars (especially in pride). the wars are obviously catching up to him now, but he's surviving on his world class bjj and toughness. he doesn't have much time left in the sport. definitely watch his fights in pride though, he was never known for his standup, but is known as the best heavyweight bjj artist.
  6. rapidly growing division? HW in ufc is still weak, Werdum (who nog has already beaten, is probably goin to get the next shot), Gonzaga is living off his head kick on Crocop who isn't the same, Kongo has 0 ground game, Vera is a division to high, Sylvia just got submitted, Lesnar is 2yrs away from seriously competing. who's left in the UFC's "rapidly growing HW division". Arvloski's fight at UFC 82 is not even on the main card. he's gone after his next fight. and against Randy, Nog would have more success standing. Randy doesn't have much punching power, and Nog is probably the better boxer of the two. randy doesn't defend submissions well so if he takes nog down, nog would tap him out. randy signed a contract, just because ufc didn't land fedor as he wanted, doesn't mean he should just take his ball and go home. if fedor was the only legit competition for him than i would agree, but fact is Randy and Nog would be a super fight.
  7. i agree on the promotion part, but my thing is that Randy should fight Big Nog whether he wants to or not. if Randy loses to Big Nog, which is very possible, his future match with Fedor loses some luster.
  8. my only problem with Randy is that he got a gift in a title shot against Sylvia, now he won't return to face a fighter in Big Nog who deserves a fight with Couture at this point. Big Nog is a bad matchup for Randy style wise, so i question if he wants to take the risk of losing to Nog before he gets his farewell match with Fedor.
  9. i would argue that Margarito didn't pressure Paul because Paul constantly put Margarito on the defensive. Margarito is known as a high volume puncher, averaging close to a 100punches thrown per round. against williams, he only averaged around 60punches thrown per round. Paul Williams is so active in throwing punches, that it literally smothers his opponent's offense. again i think the pressure Williams would give Cotto, would allow him to win enough rounds for a decision victory.
  10. i don't have the link, but that was the fight that put Babalu out of the UFC because he held the choke for too long:
  11. Margarito has great power at welterweight as well, and Williams stood up to his shots. Cotto doesn't throw enough punches to stop the onslaught of punches by Williams. Willams may not have one punch power, but he hits you so much, the punishment builds up. i don't think Williams would knock out Cotto, but i think he would win enough clear rounds to get a clear unanimous victory against Cotto. Cotto's never fought anyone who would apply nearly as much pressure as Williams' would. Not to mention, Cotto has very little head movement in his game, that would allow Pauls combinations to land at a decnet clip. i hope cotto's management changes their tune, although its unlikely. Williams deserves a shot at Cotto, especially before Margarito
  12. the only fight i can think of that was that one sided in recent memory was Anderson Silva vs. Chris Leben that guy David Heath got picked apart in every way imaginable
  13. David Heath should just retire after gettin thrown like that
  14. my thoughts in red :2cents: Zab isn't garbage, he's just a mental midget. kinda sad really, he is as gifted talent wise as any fighter at 147. he hits hard, probably has the fastest hands, but he chin is suspect at best, and he folds under pressure. zab is a perfect example of important the mental aspect is to boxing.
  15. http://www.insidethe8.com/news/Brock_Lesnar_Talks_About_Last_Night_s_Loss_At_UFC_81.shtml i watched the post-fight press conference on UFC.com, some very funny spots between Brock & Tim Tim: "Nog is the best at jiujitsu and frank is second, and you all know what frank did to me" Brock: "who cares what he did to your arm" Tim: "yeah who cares what he did to me, he almost broke your leg" they both laughed pretty good after that comment.   Brock was pretty respectful during the post-match conferences.
  16. too soon to let Brock face Sylvia. it would be an interesting matchup. but brock needs to face comparable competition. Brock can be a force in the division but he obviously needs time to grow his skillset before he starts fighting top10 heavyweights. i say let Brock face a veteran who prefers striking to submitting people.
  17. i don't think he has the time to learn offensive jiu jitsu, he should focus strictly on sub defense at this stage it kinda looked like Mazzagati was steppin in to stop the fight, realized Mir wasn't out then took a point to cover his ass for stopping the action  in the fight with Griffin and Tibeau he tapped Tibeau on the head and warned him about shots to the back of the dome, Brock didn't even get a warning.
  18. with Brock's combination of speed & power and with his extensive college wrestling background, i don't think there's a heavyweight currently in the UFC, outside of tim sylvia due to his sprawl, that can stop his takedowns. if he learns to be more controlled with ground n pound striking, he'll be more successful finishing fighters. his biggest area to work on has to be sub defense. it'll be interesting to see who they decide to match him up against next.
  19. Brock definitely impressed me tonight. he showed some potential. he's incredibly quick for a man who has to cut weight to make 265. he needs to work on his ground n pound strikes though, he was out of control even though he was landing some shots. if he works on his sub defense, he'll be a force in the heavyweight division. Big Nog is my hero.........a warrior in every sense of the word.:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
  20. i was 3 for 5, better than my usual average of 1 for 5.
  21. that guy was so out of it he pulled the ref into guard when he stopped the fight
  22. i hope Randy changes his mind and comes back to fight Big Nog. that would be a great, and potentially classic fight
  23. his ability to take punishment is absolutely sick he took some huge shots in this fight
  24. Big ****ing Nog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With The Guillotine For The Win In Round 3!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Nog had more cleaner strikes in the round. i'm not sure who i give that one to
