  1. ^^^^how did this guy not suffer a broken neck? that made me cringe something awful
  2. Shapiro came off as trying to pigeon-hole something he clearly does not understand. as a "professional" writer, you would think he would have the "professionalism" to due adequate research.
  3. i found this short clip of Anderson Silva letting Jorge Rivera hit him in the clinch, then laughing at him: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8T7Nz6EHec0 the man's chin must be solid  but seriously, if a guy let me hit him in the face clean in the clinch multiple times, and he just laughed at me, i would probably just tap out from the laughing.
  4. that fight actually happened just a day ago. 4am (est) saturday morning. the lightweight grand prix was good as well, although the match everyone wanted to see between Aoki & JZ ended in a no contest due to JZ hitting Aoki with an illegal elbow, they looked clean to me though.
  5. i don't see his point about Fedor being the only fight for him. Nog is more than deserving of a shot against Randy. i think he sees Fedor as his biggest payday. he realized that if he fights Nog, theres a good chance he loses, and he won't make as much as he would against Fedor. If he loses to Fedor, then he loses to the best, but still cakes alot of cash. if he loses to Nog, a match with Fedor loses some luster
  6. well if they didn't land Fedor, they would have Randy fight Nog to determine the "true" champion. Dana actually has made an offer to Randy to fight Big Nog. dana is holding out hope Randy will accept, which is why Werdum is fighting Vera at a near UFC event. personally, i think randy is being a little dirty my not fighting Nog. he was given a gift title shot to begin with, now he wants doesn't want to defend it against a man who has earned a shot.
  7. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=5886&zoneid=2 Fihlo Out of WEC Title Bout, Into Rehab
  8. yeah Big Nog is interim champ, Randy will be recognized as champ until his contract is resolved or he is beaten in the octagon
  9. its not quite a win-win. if Fedor comes in, defeats randy then bolts, then Dana can't claim to have "the best fighters in the world". he can't make that claim if fedor comes in and beats the man who has the heavyweight title thats the reason dana doesn't give title shots to people on the last fight of their contract.
  10. there should be a stream for it on the internets, but the event will be live around 3 or 4am (est) since its happening in Japan. JZ is one of my favorite fighters out, but i like Aoki even more. JZ will probably beat Aoki, but i'm rootin for Aoki
  11. BJ is ridiculously flexible. in almost every one of his fights, Rogan always says BJ can put his leg behind his head without touching his legs
  12. i'll see your powerbomb, and raise you a ridiculous suplex:
  13. the one who hit the mat is Kazuhiro (the only name i could find). the guy putting him quite rudely into the mat is Shintaro Ishiwatari
  14. i found this while lurking on Sherdog, pretty cool pic:
  15. Imanari vs. Jean Silva from last night: the scream Silva let out was sickening
  16. hopefully some sanctioning body will bar Shamrock from fighting again, its beyond sad now. on another note, that leg lock Imanari put on Jean Silva was sick, you could hear Silva scream through the mouth guard. his knee is probably screwed for a nice little while now.
  17. i like Haye alot, but he doesn't have the chin to stand up to the heavyweight fighters. he'll have to hope his power carries over, but he's been knocked down before by cruiserweights, so i'm sure heavy's will do the same. although his handspeed should give him a considerable advantage in some fights. i look forward to his next fight at heavyweight. Campbell shocked me tonight, i knew he was a great fighter, but i didn't think he would be able to match Diaz's pace. he not only matched he exceeded it. he punished diaz in the late rounds especially. that body work campbell put in during the first 3 rounds paid tremendous dividends in the end. Diaz's eye looked horrible at the end of that fight, it was completely closed. great fight though. Peter's did what i expected him to do. he did impress me tonight with his head movement. his defense has improved dramatically over the last couple of years. he looked bad against McCline, but he rebounded nicely in this fight. he was patient with his shots, showed his jab some, and displayed much better defense in this fight. its nice to know that he is still improving as a fighter and not just resting on his ridiculous punching power.
  18. Maskaev has been KO'd 5 times in his career, he's goin down tonight. i'm pullin for Sam Peter only because the heavyweight division desperately needs some excitement right now
  19. he look like he on the Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens approved workout plan
  20. i'll take that bet. Peters by KO in the 5th Juan Diaz will beat Nate Campbell by unanimous decision. showtime is showing what should be a good fight between David Haye/Enzo Maccarnelli. i'll take Enzo by KO in the 7th. (this fight will come down to lands the first big shot. both have KO power, should be entertaining at the least
  21. Cage Rage 25 tomorrow on Showtime: CAGE RAGE 25: MARCH 8 ON SHOWTIME location: London, England Bouts Scheduled to Air on Showtime Broadcast: -Ken Shamrock vs. Robert Berry -Masakazu Imanari (#5 Featherweight in the World)* vs. Jean Silva -Gary Turner vs. Mustapha Al Turk -Tom Watson vs. Pierre Guillet Other Bouts: -Ivan Serati vs. Roman Webber -Rob Broughton vs. Neil Grove -Henrique Santana vs. Michael Johnson -Aisling Daly vs. Aysen Berik -Ryan Shamrock vs. Giorgio Andrews -John Hathaway vs. Marvin Arnold -Jack Bostwick vs. John Phillips if Shamrock wins, he probably fights Kimbo next.
