  1. Awesome, glad you are enjoying it. I like it when people enjoy movies I recommend. I recommend tons to my friends and family, but they hardly ever watch them and usually opt for the big movie of the moment even if I tell them it isn't good.
  2. Yeah, it sat in my queue forever. Finally got a chance over Christmas. I also like Anton Yelchin, but couldn't tell you why.
  3. Within the last month I watched both 'How to Train Your Dragon' movies. Loved the first one. The second was decent, but not as good IMO.
  4. Frequencies: I didn't expect much with this movie. It is slow. However, I found it interesting. I think I will have to re-watch the end so that I can understand it fully. I wouldn't highly recommend this movie because of its pace. As I have stated before, I like slow paced movies. Basically this movie can be summed up as a person's frequency determines their life events. A girl who has a high frequency and has a everything work perfectly for her meets a boy who has a low frequency and is surrounded by disappointment. To me 7.5/10 - Currently streaming on Netflix Lovelace - Once again, I did not expect much out of this movie. However, I really enjoyed it. I must admit though, that I knew almost nothing about Linda Lovelace prior to this movie, so facts may be missing or stretched. Not saying they are because I do not know enough of her story to make that claim. From a person that knows nothing about her, I would give it an 8/10. I loved Amanda Seyfried in this movie. I think it is one of her best. Streaming on Netflix Odd Thomas: After watching this I found out it was a book. I have never read the book. The movie was fun. It is not as funny as Zombieland, but I would classify it along those same lines. It calls itself a horror movie, however, there is nothing remotely scarey about it. I guess this is a series and they plan on making more. 8/10 - Streaming on Netflix Chef: This has been discussed previously. It is a good movie although it seems to lag at times. Even with the lag I would rate it an 8/10. At the end, I felt like something was missing from the story, but I enjoyed the journey. Streaming on Netflix in January: Interstellar: O.K. I never go to the theater anymore. I basically have my own theater at home However, I decided to go see this in the IMAX dome with my wife and a few friends that work for NASA. The theater was packed. I am sure it was all NASA employees because of where I live. People were silent. It was remarkable in my opinion. My favorite part was the first planet and the mountains. I will not say anymore than that and that tidbit doesn't ruin anything for you. This is a top 20 movie for me of all time. Loved it. 9.7/10.
  5. Saw Drive Hard. I like John Cusak, however, let me leave you with this: Run! Run like your life depends on it. You never ever want to see this movie. Awful doesn't describe this movie. That is all I will say. The Giant Mechanical Man: Drama. They call it a comedy, but it wasn't funny. I really liked this movie, but that may be because I can relate to the characters. I typically like movies that are slow in pace a lot more than other people. It's about two people that don't have a direction in life, looking for that thing that makes them tick, and the pressure from others to find their calling. They are miserable, but they find each other. They just want to be themselves and be happy. Nothing wrong with that.
  6. ^was proven to be fake and people ran with the story. The people that ran with it, including the media were the ones that were owned.
  7. Shadow of the Vampire - stars John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, and Eddie Izzard. It is based on the making of the silent film Nosferatu. Nosferatu is great if you don't mind silent films. Shadow of the Vampire is great as well, except it is not believable. As the synapse states 'a possible scenario behind the making of Nosferatu.' This possible scenario is an exaggeration not a true story. If you can get past that, it is a fantastic movie. Very interesting and imaginative. I really enjoyed it even though I was looking for a more factual account behind the making of the movie. If there is one reason to watch it is Willem Dafoe's performance as Max Schreck/Count Orlock. He is spot on. Probably one of his best performances. I highly recommend watching the original Nosferatu (1929) then Shadow of the Vampire back to back. I think it will give you an appreciation of Shadow of the Vampire. Both are currently streaming on Netflix.
  8. I did, it was a long time ago. Might have to watch it again. I must have liked it because I gave it 4 out of 5 on Netflix. Yeah, I am not really understanding the complaints. I thought it was interesting. I have liked each movie more than the previous one. Even without the action, I think this was the best one.
  9. I might have posted this a few weeks ago, but I am not positive. If I did, I am going to throw it up here again because it has sat with me for a few weeks and I notice that I continue to talk to people about it. It is Blue Ruin, which is currently streaming on Netflix. I normally post a synapse straight from the movie, however, I will post my own words. This is a revenge movie. The kind where you kill my family, I will kill yours. However, it is not the Jason Statham kick ass revenge movie that we are accustomed to. This guy takes revenge on a whim. He might have been thinking about it for awhile, but never planned it out. He is clumsy and not a former Marine. Imagine you decided within a half an hour to kill and take revenge on a set of people without planning. How would it turn out? This movie could have been slightly better, but I thought it was really good. While watching, I gave it a 6/10. It was descent, however, the more I think about it, I will move it up to about a 7.5/10. It reminds me of how Idiocracy stuck with me. I didn't like Idiocracy initially, but the more I have thought about it, the more that movie was spot on.
  10. Saw the new Hunger Games. Like the reviews have stated, it is slow. However, I thought it was great! I feel like Tony the Tiger. Anyways, I didn't read the books, however, my wife and friends said it was very close to the novel. I loved every moment of it, however, I continuously thought about the loss of Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He was in it a lot. Oh, man, that sucks. Great movie though, in my opinion.
  11. I liked Adam Sandler a little longer than others. I enjoyed him up until Bedtime Stories. That one was alright. I used to be a huge fan and see all of his movies in theaters. But, since Bedtime, I haven't seen one quality movie of his. Last movie I saw of his in theater was 'That's My Boy.' What a waste of money.
  12. Just saw this great documentary about a few guys that made up KNB effects and how the work they have done in the movie industry. They have worked on the Walking Dead, Inglorious Basterds, Death Proof, etc..... If you are into movies, I recommend this documentary: Also, it is streaming on Netflix
  13. Just saw Snowpiercer. I thought it was great, my wife said meh. Synopsis: Set in a future where a failed climate-change experiment kills all life on the planet except for a lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system emerges. This will be either coming or already is on Netflix this month. I saw it on Blu-Ray
  14. Sometimes I think this thread should get more use than it does. Instead of starting a new thread that has no value, put it in here. My thought of the day that has no value is Joe Philbin seems happy that he is getting Dion Jordan back. However, prior to this week the Dolphins have seemed like they are not happy with their 2013 pick. This is just based off of what I have read and have no concrete evidence to back up that they are unhappy. What would it take to get him here and would he be worth it? I know he is a bit tall for an every down LB position, but I think a LB/DE hybrid could be great for him. He is fast enough to stick with TEs and can get after the quarterback. I think he could stay on the field quite a bit with the proper use. Next, do we have the coordinator to use him properly? Probably not, but we should next offseason. I think he could be a suitable compliment to Murphy and Kerrigan.
  15. Funny thing is, I typed 'Kardashian Centaur' into google, and this is the first image you see. let me ride that horsey horsey let me ride that horsey horsey...please
  16. I saw this on the YouTube link in post #775. I had to click when I saw a hot woman. This is awesome pole dancing from Ukraines Got Talent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9FS1bxaGTg#t=230
  17. I find Sam Adams hit or miss for the Oktoberfest. They are fantastic on tap, but bottle, they miss more often than not. I have a local brewery here called 'Straight to Ale' It is fantastic!!! Some of my favorite beers. They just released a Pumpkin Spice Ale. I have never had a Pumpkin beer as fantastic as this!!!
  18. Thanks for that. I just remembered that I got Direct TV back one week ago. I can look for reruns.
  19. Trying to get my wife interested. I think she would love it. I will have to wait until Amazon gets Season 2 streaming on Prime. As soon as it is up, I am in.
  20. Okay, I am late to the show on this one, but I am on season 2 of the Sopranos. The first 5 episodes of season 1 were boring, but my friend told me to stick with it, so I did. I feel this way with most shows. Now it is awesome. I can't stop watching. If I don't have a Netflix movie at home at the time, it is my go to show. Of course, I absolutely love Mafia movies with Goodfellas being my favorite. Also, I love Vikings. I have only watched season 1, but the lead guy is awesome. It doesn't hurt that his wife can fight and she is hot. Hot women fighting, I'm in.
