  1. Mayes mechanics are enough of an issue that it caused his accuracy to be considered a weakness. Which is the reason he isn’t the slam dunk #2 pick. if I’m investing in him I’d want to commit to fixing that issue and make him the QB he can be for the future rather than throwing him out there and hoping he could fix stuff in his spare time. Daniels doesn’t need to sit to learn how to throw the ball over the middle. He needs to play to get better at that.
  2. The reason for Maye to sit is his mechanics. You fix bad footwork and inconsistent throw mechanics with drills and repetition. That's a lot harder to do if you're spending 60 hours a week devouring the game plan and tape of the opponent. And a player is likely to lapse back into those bad mechanics if they haven't much time to change them and they're trying to win a game. You need time to unlearn what you were doing wrong and have the new process become second nature. Daniels' issues are the types that either are unlikely to be corrected or can be worked on with experience. I'm as much Maye over Daniels as anyone but I'd want Maye sitting and working on his footwork for at least half a season. The only reason I'd sit Daniels (apart from just him looking bad) is if I thought the OLine needed work or it'd get any QB killed and so I'd sit him to protect him.
  3. He'd be an interesting pick, especially to go with Maye. As Maye could sit for a bit and work on mechanics, while Slovis could play right away. Getting experience for a young back up, if not trade chip while allowing the top pick to develop.
  4. Well, if they took the group out to the right restaurant, Daniels could have saved Peters and Co some serious cash.
  5. That's brutal. My deepest sympathies. I have lost two brothers, but I don't think even that is in the same universe as a child. Years ago, I would give myself legit panic attacks by just imagining something happening to my daughter. I can't imagine even being a (semi) functional adult if it had. I'm touched enough that I'll try to not to say anything insulting to you for... let's not get crazy, so 48 hours?
  6. Because it cost next to nothing and they can see the potential in him. Them moving on from Dak and trying Lance in 25 is a long shot, but it's not one of the craziest long shot bets out there. Someone is going to be giving Lance a shot in the next year. I would bet on that.
  7. Charisma. I know that without looking it up. That means I'm hip to all the lingo the hepcats use nowadays. Word.
  8. Having thought on it, it's obvious why they are bringing these guys in at the same time. They are going it to have them here to employ one of the oldest, most time-tested methods of determining the best possible choice.
  9. The draft is 9 days away. WTF Are you waiting for? With all the big money us good people spend on this site, the least you could do is get your work done in a timely fashion!
  10. I'm waiting to hear how this all shook out before jumping to far up the conclusion tree. But it seems, at best, questionable if accurate.
  11. Come on, man! What was he wearing? Was there burgundy in the outfit? Was he wearing red, white and/or blue, indicating he wants to got to the Patriots? Was he drinking anything when he entered the building? If so, was it gold ole' American Dunkin Donuts coffee or was he drinking a Starbuck latte like some kind of communist? If you don't think there was news value to seeing him arrive you are a fool. A FOOL, I SAY!!!
  12. I've heard it is April 19, which is Friday. Googled at it came up in a Buffalo newspaper article too, but you need a subscription to see the article
  13. I think he's given his reasons for believing Maye's big issues are more correctable than Maye's. You can disagree, but on the big ones it seems pretty self-evident why he'd be aiming that case. Obviously, there's not much that ca be done about Daniels' frame or arm strength, but Maye's mechanics and the accuracy issues that come with them are the types of things tha are fixed pretty often. I mean if I said a guy who's missing a limb is a bigger long-term issue than a guy who has a hangnail, I don't think that would be bad faith" argument.
  14. Yeah, I think that is just a lazy take based on him being a game manger type QB for Michigan and Smith being the first QB people think of when they think of game managers. There is not much of a comparison between the two, imo.
  15. Yes, living in New England, I can tell you that the number 3 pick is nothing but a source of mellow 'take it as it comes' zen-like relaxed takes as they calmly wait to accept whatever outcome occurs. In case you aren't familiar with my personality or posting history:
