  1. Yeah And DG has been a pretty classy guy, good points I like it.
  2. everyone looks at Luke and wonders if he's just a legacy, but from the all star game you could tell he plays with a fire, that is somethign I think you will need where he slots in on our team. He was a depth WR I thought we'd take but I figured Malik Washington would be taken before we took him. They must have him scouted better than what I saw for sure, this makes me smile if true, our slot position like TE has done little after the first guy. I was actually shocked they didn't trade 36, but after seeing the tape on the Illinois DT, I was stoked. He may have some position flex in him, imagine him allen payne swapping around inside and at de.
  3. So I'm not as high on Will Shipley of Clemson as some. the Backs I liked best and might be there in the 5th were Ray Davis Kentucky Braelon Allen Wisconsin The Notre Dame Back you mentioned earlier, Isaiah Davis (Could be a returner too) Cody Schrader of Missouri Dillon Johsnon of Washington There's also Frank Gore Jr (ANother potential legacy, but I'm not sure he's as good as his old man) Inside OL Sedrick Van Pran - UGA Sataoa Laumea Utah Dalton Tuckre Marshall Hard to predict here, because most of what has been taken were centers that may move to guard. there may be some UDFA potential at Guard WR Troy Franklin (despite medical concerns I think is still there) Malik Washington (This guy feels like a possession guy, may not score many 6's but if he can help move chains maybe. Doubt he falls to 5th rd though) Javon Baker UCF Jacob Cowing ZOna Brenden Rice (Another legacy, but based on what I saw he's a depth guy that needs more coaching, but I think he has the work ethic to get there) Ainias Smith A&M Johnny Wilson FSU Jha 'Quan Jackson Tulane Jalen Coker Holy Cross There are a lot of possible UDFA WRs that could be there. Hard to know if they use a remaining pick on this LB: Jeremiah Trotter JR Clemson Cedrig Gray UNC Curtis Jacobs Penn State Tommy Eichenberg Ohio ST Edefuan Ulofoshio Washington After those the depths of the LB class are a bit of a mystery. Given we brought in two stud FAs hard to know if we take a flyer on someone Edge Rushers (Not sure if this is DE or Edge for 3/4) Austin Booker Kansas Gabriel Murphy UCLA Brennan Jackson Wash ST Mohamet Kamara Col St Javon Solomon Troy Xavier Thomas Clemsn Cedrig Johnson Ole Miss Grayson Murphy UCLA Hardly any edge guys have been taken. I had Adisa Isac and Chris Braswell as top 2nd round possibilities but they both were gone before the 3rd round was over There aer still some QUality COrners: DJ James Auburn Kris Abrams-Draine T J Tamp Iowa State CAelen Carson Wake (I thought he was taken last night NFL says he wasnt) Cam Hart Notre Dame Nehemiah Pritechet Auburn There are a lot of corners in this draft, Figure we look for someone for depth and special teams from the Safety/Corner Class at least with 1 of these picks.
  4. Honestly, wheN i first looked at our needs, and what was available TE I immediately concluded the following: Bowers is not going to slide that far The TX fellow disappeared at times to me Cade STover has incredible hands But Benn Sinnot seemed to be that Cooley like TE we've been missing. C ombination of Logan and someone with some blocking skill too. I didn't think he'd be taken this earlier, figured in the 4th, but I like him as a player a lot. We played against him in the Big -12 and I just liked the way he moved, he's got a toughness to him that TIght Ends really need to have in this league. This + urtz I think helps a lot. And he was the first of my man crush picks that we took. I liked several of the Linebackers too but Edge I think didn't fit our Scheme needs. I actually had them Ranked Brock Bowers Cade Stover Ben Sinnott Theo Johnson Jaheim Bell Dallin Holker I didn't really like the TX TE, and initially I liked Erick All, but in mocks he was falling WAY down the board by day 1, there must be a red flag on him or something. This is a case where, I didn't think we'd have space for TE until late 3rd or 4th Rd, and because of that I expected to be taking one of 3-5. I prefer 3 over 2 as a Player, but I think Stover has a higher ceiling, but I think Ben fits what we need far more.
  5. I wish I could have posted this live in the draft thread but was stuck shoe shopping with daughter. WHen I heard Darrel Green or thank Detroit, at First I thought he was trolling them, because we steam rolled Detroit several times the year Rypien lead us to the Super Bowl. I kn0w he got a bit detailed after about the hospitality, so maybe it wasn't intended as a reference, a little good ribbing, but did anyone else have that in their mind? I realize we have been so skunked for good play that many may not remember those games, back when Barry Sanders was still there.
  6. I get some people thinking there were corners, and WRs on the board. I'd not seen this guys highlights before this clip One of those plays he gets upset cause he thinks he drew a penalty, but I think its offensive block in the back by the guard. But man, look at that explosion, first step, and intelligence, he could brutallize QBs but he tackles them around the chest instead of the head. I can't remember the lat time we had a guy who was that quick off the ball. I don't think he's a DE I think he's a DT but as they said on the 980 Cast last night, remember JA is owed 25 Million in 25. Hard to imagine he's here without a lot more production, and DT is a position where you rotate. But man, you remember how we brutalized Dallas's interior OL with Dak at the helm? hehehe I see where they were going here. I like this pick a lot more after seeing highlights. Here's his interview with FLorio and Simms at the combine
  7. THere were some speculating, given setting up for the future, that Tress might elicite some mid to late round draf tpick if traded, then bring in a new punter at a lower salary. They have the luxury to not do that this year of course.
  8. THe issue many of us discovered late was the 8 first rd talent OTs nto all are good LT fits a few were RT our potential swing, but not Trent WIlliams esque. There are some other tackles their talent ceiling will be lower.
  9. Now that would be the biggest 5i chess move I've ever seen in this game, if I've ever seen one.
  10. Oh yeah Pearsall was the most head scratching reach of the draft, even more scratching than penix to Atlanta.
  11. I have watched him slowly fall down mock draft boards all offseason. And its crazy because He might be the best safety since. what Ed Reed and Sean Taylor out of the U?
  12. Oh dear, Was Heath Shuler Number 5 too? Is that Tress Way's number?
  13. Dejean ran a 4.45 and 4.42 Kool aid ran a 4.47 I think Rakestraw 4.51 MAx melton might have had a 4.39 TJ Tampa 4.52 DJ James 4.42
  14. I think Washington could be a good reliable target in the 3rd or 4th. He might not get many Scores, but he moves chains that could be good.
  15. Oh lord two words I never want in a 2nd round reciever "Injury Issues" IE the curse Malc-"Combs" Kelly
  16. After seeing those shirt,s with the live arm that Daniels has... how long before he gets the nick name Jayden 5, He's alive With a picture of him and the Short Circuit robot Johnny Five on it ;)
  17. People comparing daniels to RG 3 or Randal Cunningham Let me throw a few more names out there: Steve McNair, McNabb, Vince Young. HIs passing arm has me thinking Warren moon, but I don't remember moon being that mobile
  18. Yeah I am expecting this. Best Available OTs: BLacke Fisher Notre Dame (RT) Kiran Amegadjie Yale (LG) Caedan Wallace PennSt (RT) Patrick Paul Houston (LT) Matt GOnclaves Pitt (LT/RT does that mean swing tackle) Kingsley Suamataia BYU (LT/RT does that mean swing tackle?) Roger Rosengarten WASH (RT) I don't recognize any other names Possible Value OL: Jackson Powers-John ORE C Sedrick Van Pran Grar UGA C Hunter Nourzad Penn State C Zach Frazier WVU C Three of those four would be good at either guard position for sure too Pure Guards: Cooper Beebe KSU CHristian Haynes UCONN Zak ZInter MICH Dominick Puni Kansas Brandon Coleman TCU Isaiah Adams ILL No linebackers taken last night SO Junior Colson, Payton Wilson, Trotter Jr, Edgererring COoper, Cedric Gray are available CB: Kool-Aid McKinstry bama Cooper DeJean Iowa Ennis Rakestraw Jr MIssouri Renardo Green FSU DJ James Auburn Kris Abrams-Draine Missouri Max Melton Rutgers Mike Sainristill T J Tampa Iowa St No Safeties taken at all so Tyler Nubin, Minn Dadrion Taylor-Demers Tx Tech JAvaoN Bulalrd UGA Jaden Hicks Wash ST COle Bishop utah And all the rest are there A few Es Ja Tavion Sanders, Cade Stover OSU, Theo Johnson, Erick All, Ben Sinnot KSU, DTs T'Vondre Sweat TX JerZhan Newton Illinois Braden Fisk FSU Kris Jenkins Mich Michael Hall JR OSU I'm honestly not sure about edge rusher vs DE Edge has names like Austin Booker, Chris BRaswell, Adisa Isaac, Gabriel Murphy, and Bralen Trice WR Ladd Mcconkey UGA Malachi Corley W Kentucky Troy Franklin OR Adonai Mitchell TX Roman WIlson MIC Malik Washington UVA Javon Baker UCF Keon Coleman FSU Given talent If paul is there and you want a LT To start training to rotate in at the end of the year, that might be first pick> Otherwise CB/WR/LB For one pick the other maybe Edge/TE ? I'm totally guessing here
  19. The rare oddity happened for me in a simulated mock. Bears stunned and took Daneiels #1. Wasn't expecting that. .. .then I was like what offers? nothing good enough to move back... SO I took caleb williams. And theN i decided, well if I didn't get the LSU player I wanted why not get aggressive so I traded up twice into the 1st and end up with Bowers at 18. I Traded before the pick got there expecting to take a tackle or edge (or a corner), wasn't expecting bowers to be available and decided you know what let's do this... 2 Caleb Williams QB | USC 18 Brock Bowers TE | Georgia A 27 Brian Thomas Jr. WR | LSU 49 Kingsley Suamataia OT | BYU 66 Javon Bullard S | Georgia 67 Christian Haynes IOL | UConn 88 Bralen Trice EDGE | Washington 97 Andru Phillips CB | Kentucky 152 Brenden Rice WR | USC B+ 202 Walter Rouse OT | Oklahoma 222 Jordan Travis QB | Florida State From about the Trice pick on I wans't sure where I wanted to go, I had expected to take a TE there but we had taken bowers. Rice was an argument for best talent available, even if it requires a little development. Rouse got chosen over the IOL from Illionois Adams (Figuring Rouse moves inside) And at 222 I had no clue and couldn't believe travis was still on the board, could be a third string depth guy if someone goes down with an injury. Now I have no suggestion that we'd be that aggressive in the first round, but I was able to do it. Could have had a different OT at 27, but the guys available there looked like RT not LT, and Thomas next to Terry could help open up the passing game a bit. If I would critique myself in this its that a bit too O heavy. would have liked an earlier corner, but the value never seemed to be there, and Trice has fallen down mock charts so far I don't know, I had wanted to grab a Value RB but they were mostly gone by 152 and 202. Somewhere I traded back for a 3 and 5 next year too forgot I did that.
  20. So I was looking at our Cap space on Spotrac. Est Cap Space All: 24,078,633 Est Cap Space Top 51: 43,718,633 DOes anyone find the fact we have more capspace in top 51 over all a bit suspect? Did we sign a lot of guys knowing we are cutting some bait in camp?
  21. I'm still in favor of milking #2 for 2 first round picks plus gravy But this is the first draft in a long time where I'm not so heart stuck on any one player that I"ll be pissed if they don't take them. I mean remember when we missed Santana Moss?
  22. So I saw Chase Young's comments about 'joining a winning culture', and not joining SF. A lot of people are like isn't SF a winning culture? And then I remember what did Chase Young score on the wonderlic?? 19 out of 50 https://theathletic.com/1758253/2020/04/20/mcginns-nfl-draft-series-scouts-on-top-edge-rushers/
