Patriots will take Maye now. Inevitable that the relative progress of Daniels and Maye will be looked at by us as we judge the success of failure of the choice we just made. Pick is in - also pleased he’s not fallen to the Giants.

OK. So it’s Daniels. I leaned towards Maye but I’m totally fine with Daniels being the pick. His talent is evident and his ceiling is as high as any QB in the draft. Looking forward to seeing what the offensive design is and how we build around him. We need help right now at T and G. Looking for us to trade back into the 1st to get that OT.

I think we have an idea. Probably a good idea. But we don’t know. In the last few years beat guys have known what positions we are targeting in which rounds never mind who we are leaning towards with our first pick!!

If we select Daniels the evaluation will have been has both experienced and potential. There is certainly a case he has the highest ceiling of all the QBs in this draft and certainly everyone after Williams - I’m not sure I agree but I can see the argument. I see Daniels as a I guy with a high ceiling and a low floor. He’s not the safe pick because he’s got the most experience IMO.

I think there will be a run on tackles second half of the first - I wasn’t thinking Paul would be among that group personally. Could well be wrong though!

I can absolutely see us trading back into the lower part of the first for a tackle, but I’d be surprised if it’s Paul. I would think he’d still be there in the 2nd if he’s a guy we like he’s probably not someone you’d need to trade up for.

I’d say it’s a typo. But this IS America … If the Chargers take Latham over Harrison in the above scenario we should all riot in sympathy with Chargers fans and everyone involved in the Chargers organization down to the guy who cleans out the locker rooms should be fired for cause.

No one who really knows is texting anyone that kind of information. Especially to someone in the media. That said there is so much smoke now it would be a mild surprise if Daniels is not the pick.

I’m reminded here of when I was asked to put on weight. High calories, protein shakes, low reps/heavier weights etc etc. After close to a year I’d lost 2 pounds … Those were the days.

No. That would suggest he is limited to playing in that style. I don’t think that’s remotely true. Lots of film of him playing from the pocket without RPO. I’m still in the Drake Maye camp - but would have no concerns at all if we drafted Daniels. I think he can be scheme diverse, though it would foolish not to use his wheels in some capacity and I would expect RPOs to be a part of what you would do with him especially early.

Bad O’lines tend to speed up a QBs clock and they start to rush their process. Messes with their footwork and mechanics. We saw that with Sam Howell as the season went on - those sacks, hits and pressures wear on guy even if it’s subconscious. The occasional misses are a function of footwork and related mechanics.

The draft can’t get here fast enough. That’s said we then have to deal with the predictable melt downs of some posters if ‘their’ guy isn’t the pick. Sigh.
