  1. Just announched that the Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer premieres next tuesday during Agents Of SHIELD. http://comicbook.com/2014/10/22/avengers-age-of-ultron-trailer-to-air-during-agents-of-s-h-i-e-l/
  2. You will have a taste very soon. The word going around is that the trailer for Age Of Ultron will be on Interstellar and Big Hero 6, both of which release in theatres on November 7th. Marvel typically releases their first trailers for blockbuster May releases in mid/late October, so we might get something next week. I can't freaking wait any longer! As for Cap 3...I hope it doesn't turn into "Iron Man 4: Captain America 3". Cap/Chris Evans just solidified his own franchise and the last thing I want to see is RDJ taking over his film. I love RDJ/Iron Man, but I hope he is minimized whenever possible.
  3. Yes! Seen it four times now and I've NEVER done that before...never even seen a movie more than twice in a theatre. The emotional beats in this film were so big and so well done. There were two scenes at the end that had me floored...until one of the best "upbeat" endings of sheer joy I have ever seen. My friends and I at work have been leaving drawings and scribbles all over the place saying "I Am Groot". No white-board or desk post-it is safe.
  4. Snowpiercer was awesome...the axe fight blew my mind, it was so tense. I'd give it an 8/10 as well. Very lucky! I just ordered a ticket for the IMAX 3D at the Hoffman next friday. Can't freakin' wait. I'm so excited for this film and hearing all of the great reviews, buzz, and kudos is making me go crazy(er).
  5. Sorry, I may not have explained the "old and used up" well enough. I wasn't referring to Nolan himself. He has earned the praise and respect. I meant the premise for this movie seems dated, done before. Sunshine, Pandorum, even Elysium...a single person or small group has to save mankind/Earth from poor living conditions. I will definately see this, that's for sure...I just hope there is enough hard science and logic at it's foundation as the trailer suggests. On to Nolan. I had a lot typed but realised our posts would likely derail this thread, so I'm cutting back a lot lol. I do think it would be a fun and intense discussion though Basically, his films are outstanding about 80% of the way but then lose steam. The endings never seem to match the effort, intensity or mood (The Prestige, TDKR, TDK). It's like the movie tells me to have my brain on for 90 minutes but then fully expects me to shut it off for the home stretch. Now on a campy, postive note, here's a Guardians Of The Galaxy teaser trailer for this Monday's trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN10QltBBtE How do we post/embed videos now? LOL My goodness.
  6. I love almost any science fiction film thrown my way, from hard sci-fi to camp, but Interstellar just isn't doing anything for me yet. The heavy-handed drama and plot makes it feel like a sequel to Sunshine or similar to the objective of the generational ship in Pandorum. So...are they going to attempt to return to Earth after finding food in space? The trailer really emphasises returning home. That undercuts the exploration/human destiny aspect a bit, doesn't it? I really hope it's more complicated than that because the story feels old and used up.
  7. I am so ready for Guardians Of The Galaxy. The trailer is exactly what it needs to be to promote a brand new franchise that has only small recognition, even among comic fandom. It should be a lot of fun. And I know the trailer was released on Kimmel's channel that has like 3 million subscribers, but it has close to 4.2 million views in just over 18 hours...that's pretty exciting. But first, The Winter Soldier. OMG NERDGASM. I will be out of my mind the first week of April. And what's most awesome - there are already a thousand great gifs from the trailers lol.
  8. That is brutal. And the thing is, they will probably start this season 0-8 as well, with or without Wall. And if that does happen, Ernie and Randy have got to go.
  9. I believe what he said is accurate. Basketball is about fundamentals, play execution, and simple I.Q., which are all visible immediately. Player tendencies settle in quickly. The Heat are veterans. The Wizards are young and unproven with bad habits/issues that need to be corrected immediately. I really like Gortat and he appears to fit in well. More moves still need to be made to fine tune the roster but I don't see EG fleecing anyone any time soon.
  10. Gravity...glorious. Magnificent. Very tense, edge of your seat with a subtle dash of minimal comic relief. In a way, I feel exhausted, tired three hours after I saw it. Clooney nearly stole the show, imo. I absolutely loved his wise yet wise-cracking, father-figure role. However, I have a brand new sense of respect for Sandra Bullock. It's not very often you can watch a film and an actor/actress and completely forget WHO you are watching. She truly became someone else. And for the record, Alfonso Cuaron and Neill Blomkamp now own science fiction.
  11. Awesome! Another convert! There are soooo many good scenes in that. Betty's first audition was just "wow", the theatre scene had me floored, and the entire Billy Ray Cyrus scene was hilarious. If you want a brilliant scene, check out David Lynch's film "Wild At Heart". There is a part where Willem Dafoe is making a move on a girl in an apartment...it was insane. Oh and check out his film "Inland Empire" too lol. There is a street scene toward the end that will warp your brain. Anyway, my latest film was Expendables 2. So cheesy and yet so much fun.
  12. Oh yes. I've always been a huge fan of Emeka. I believe he graduated in three years from UConn with a crazy high GPA.
  13. This is a great trade for the Wiz. Nene, Okafor and Seraphin is solid up front. Now if they could trade down for Portland's two first rounders and pick up Jeremy Lamb and maybe Kendall Marshall, that would be amazing.
  14. Ok, what is the curse of les bulez? I don't know of or remember any curse or rumor. Was it the choice of moving Webber over Howard?
  15. Pretty much. Wall is very talented, but not basketball smart and lacks some fundamental skills.
  16. I will not mourn his death. Hopefully a "new" and better nation for the North Korean people can be born.
  17. I was really hoping for Kanter, but there was no way he would fall past Utah and then Toronto.
  18. The new jerserys are pretty sweet, a huge upgrade. I love both of the secondary logos (the DC and the one with just the red, white, and blue ball). I think those should have been the primaries, or at least taken the new ball logo and developed it more to become the primary.
  19. Portland appears to be willing to deal Marcus Camby. He would be the ideal vet to teach McGee. Maybe trade something like Blatche, Thornton and Young for Camby, Rudy Fernandez, Luke Babbit and a second rounder....sign me up. And for some reason I'll get blasted for including Young. He is as one-dimensional as they come with a low basketball IQ and right now his stock will never be higher.
  20. I agree with you man. Something is seriously wrong with that staff. Is his injury right on his heel? I didn't think tendinitis and a bone bruise symptoms were that similar.
  21. Dammit, I don't think I'll get to see the game now (I have Metrocast, which sucks).
  22. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/13022296/ Arrested for disobeying police in Florida. The situation and arrest alone is enough to show his character and decision making, which was revealed. This was four years ago and Arenas has not changed since, which has been proven, Brought guns into a locker room (a place of employment, and a public place). We all know the story and the illegal actions and poor judgement that he had. While having a chance to hold back and utilize common sense during the ensuing investigation, he continued his antics by "shooting" his teammates. He faked an injury, lied to his coaches, then told the media before even telling the coaches. Um, if I lied to my bosses' face and then proceeding to get on our intercom and broadcast what I lied about...well, it's not hard to figure out.
  23. Gilbert has continually shown deep-seated morality and character issues. In real life, people committing actions as he has are fired from their job. I don't know if it was your intention, but you directly connected "true Washingtonian sports fans" to mindless, blind homers. Some of us are capable of critically analyzing situations and the status of a roster or franchise. The franchise is looking up...a new owner, a solid coach, and some young talent. We can also acknowledge the existence of a poor GM and several players that are not that good (Nick Young, Stevenson the last couple seasons) or lack positive character traits (Arenas, Blatche).
