  1. It's so enlightening watching talented cluster**** teams like the Pistons. Makes you appreciate the Wizards that much more (and a vast majority of the credit goes to John Wall, if not all of it. Damn shame stats can't tell the full story and his greatness isn't more universally recognized).

Edit: perfect example of what I'm talking about. Monroe vs McLemore on a jump ball. Monroe obviously, easily wins it...and smacks the ball straight out of bounds. Not sure I've ever seen that before. Their games are just filled with things that just make you shake your head.

Van Gundy has his work cut out for him. Gonna be real interesting to see what he does.)

  2. Currently watching the Detroit broadcast, wanted to see who their play by play and color guy were. Maybe it's just me and I'm being a snob or something, but found this part in play-by-play dudes bio funny:

The “Voice of the Pistons” is the longest tenured play-by-play announcer in the State of Michigan.

The honor, the greatness, the legacy.

Nice to see Mateen Cleves is still alive though (analyst in the studio).

  3. Watching Pistons/Kings, free weekend League Pass. Anyway just saw a TNT commercial for the All Star game telecast. Good sign, it was featuring...John Wall.

If he doesn't start, it's whatever. It'll go down in snub history if he isn't an All Star period though. Borderline crime against humanity.

On the flipside, it's so obvious how much **** like that drives Wall. He's already on a mission from the US team snub. He'll be a ****ing monster if he doesn't make the All Star team as well.

  4. Pistons/Kings the only game on now. Would you watch the Pistons telecast or Sactown's? Watching Detroit now. 4 mins left in the half. Unless I get a solid recommendation one way or the other, think I'm just going to go back and forth between the two.

I've always said I love the Pass just because it let's me hear other local broadcasts. Makes me appreciate Buck and Phil that much more. Maybe I'm just biased but I honestly think they're the best in the biz, bar none. We really are blessed.

  5. Getting a lot of play on the Internets. Don't think it's been posted on here...

Never in a million years, not after Gil and the three-headed monster he shat out (Swaggy/Pierre/Baltche), did I think I'd grow to respect the man who married Kim Kardashian so much and love having him on my team. Just another reminder to always withhold judgement on a person until you get to experience them firsthand and get to know them.

  6. Speak for yourself -- 1994 Fergasun's Washington Bullets went 82-0 and won the Championship, led by Georghe Muresan and Calbert Cheaney.

Thank you Sega Genesis and NBA Live '95!

Lol, I never had Live back then. Just NBA Jam TE (Tournament Edition). Trying to remember who our three guys were...I wanna say it was definitely Googs and Cheaney. Trying to remember who the third was? Might have been Chapman or Never Nervous Pervis? Maybe Scott Skiles? Definitely one of those three.

But yeah, confession time...I...didn't play with the Bullets. I'm sorry. I couldn't go with Cheaney and Googs. Went with Seattle instead. Payton and Kemp were just beastly. Really regret not riding with the hometown squad though. One of the major shames of my life.

  7. trust me, all of this has to do with people disliking Kobe Bryant since the 1990s.

I promise you, I swear to you, on the health of John Wall and Bradley Beal's knees, I have absolutely no hate for Kobe and never have for as much I can recall. To me, on this, the current state of Kobe and the Lakers, what is just is.

  8. So I guess nobody knows when Derozan's coming back, not even Derozan. Only update I've seen is that surgery isn't an option, gotta heal on its own, gonna take week by week. Seen speculation of 4 weeks Ave speculation of 4 months. So basically nobody knows ****. And God bless him, he's a local legend and always will be, but if Greivis Vasquez is filling in at the 2 in replacement of Derozan. their leading scorer...yeah, that's good for us.

  9. The Western Conference is soft man. They've got gaudy win totals and high powered offenses, but they don't play defense there. There are three teams that can play real defense in the West. Memphis, Golden State, and San Antonio. That's it. And San Antonio is not a physical defense.

    .

Is there a single team anyone hopes we don't face in the postseason, Eastern Con. or Finals? I honestly can't think of one. And really, I hope we have a tough run, that we earn it. I think we can beat anyone. Make the wins that much more special and tell the haters to eat **** and die at the same time. God, thinking about it, that's EASILY got to be my biggest sports dream. An actual Wizards title...*shiver*

  10. Thinking about it, 25 years a fan, since I was just learning how to tie my shoes and wipe my ass, hitting Bullets games at the Capital Centre with my dad, this honestly might be THE regular season high point of my life.

Some of Gilbert's exploits--his daggers or his 60+ pointer in LA, for example--might be up there but looking back those were Gilbert highs, not Wizards highs (and in retrospect, looking back on it (hindsight being 20-20 and all) they were empty/phoney achievements). This? This here? This was ALL team..

Like I said during the game, this was a statement, putting us on the map, introducing ourselves to the world. I can't recall another season where we were in that situation, where we were good enough to announce **** to ****.

    Goddamn it feels good.
