  1. I don't want to jinx anything, but this first round couldn't have played out better for us so far. We're on break and the one seed is in a battle with the eight seed? And they might lose?? We could have a home court series against an eight seed in the second round. Unbelievable. That would be the Basketball Gods parting the sea for us to get to the ECF.

Been giving a lot of thought these past few days if DC, the city I love, could ever sink to the level of Baltimore and what it would take to happen. Now if the impossible happens if we end up the best team (not too many details, don't want to jinx it) I just might start a riot myself outside the Phone Booth. 27 years of frustration, all being released. Watch out.

    (ftr, not serious)

  2. Regarding the regular season... maybe its the players who were at fault and not Wittman. Didn't Pierce allude to that in an earlier in the week interview?

I even posted they had a Lakers like "hit the switch" mentality... earlier in this thread.

I know Pierce said they were holding back their super effective small-ball lineup for the postseason. Which is amost...genius...on Wittman's part if true.

Just posted this picture on Facebook. Really trying to get people on board and understanding. Posted this along with the picture:

Love this team so much. Went to my first Bullets game at the Capital Centre when I was five. I've loved and followed them ever since. Been through a TON of ish over the years and been waiting for this for a very, very long time. But it's finally here.

What is it? What is this? Relevance. Respect. For so damn long we were a joke. We were the "Clippers of the East" (been saying the last couple years that a Clippers/Wizards Finals is most definitely a sign of the Apocalypse). Les Boulez. Curse O' Les Boulez.

The few times we got good or lucky, **** was fraudulent from the start. The first time our stars were accused of rape and we traded Webber instead of Howard--for a 32-year-old Mitch Richmond and Otis freaking Thorpe. Then the Miami Heat tried to save us from ourselves by giving Howard a monster contract that the NBA then voided and thus allowed us to give him the monster contract.

Jordan comes to town, we win the lottery and the right to draft...Kwame "girl hands" Brown. Jordan comes back, trades Richard Hamilton for Jerry freaking Stackhouse and then proceeds to go on a 3 year retirement tour so everyone gets a chance to lick his ballsack and setting the franchise back damn near a decade in the process. God bless Abe Pollin (RIP) for telling him to kick rocks.

We finally get that superstar, Agent Zero. They build the team in his image and personality. That means the three-headed monster of Baltche/Swaggy P/Pierre (Javale McGee). God help us. We win one playoff series and then proceed to lose to LeBron and the Cavs three consecutive years. Ugh. Then our superstar blows out his knee in his contract year and we still give him a max deal. He proceeds to never be the same. Before we find away to get him off the team though, him and a teammate pull guns on each other in the lockeroom. He thinks it's hilarious. Now one is in prison awaiting a murder trial and for being a Crip and running Crip business. The other is half a star on Twitter.

And those folks, were the GOOD times. Just imagine the bad. Yup. So now we finally have a LEGITIMATE good time. And who knows how far we can take this. This year and the following years. As the great Sam Cooke once sang in the greatest song ever (imho): It's been a loooong time comin', but a change gon' come, oh yes it is.

P.S. John Wall is a superstar. Recognize.

And yes, I'm not gonna front. Rather proud of that breakdown.

  4. I'm not sure I've ever loved a Wizards team more. More then last year's squad, more the '96/'97 CWebb/Howard/Strick playoff squad, hell way more then the increasingly-legendary Gilbert teams.

Just everything we've been through this season. There was like two months there I was watching games but I couldn't bring myself to talk about them. Then this? And the DAGGER!! call by Buck on a Pierce 3? It don't get much better than that. And did you see Gortat's reaction to it? It was like he had found God. And I can't believe this is the first time in franchise history we've gone up 3-0 in a best of 7 series.

I'm confused as **** about Wittman but whatever. We'll get to that when we get to it. I'm just enjoying the ride.

  5. Lebron's unwelcome herald is disliked by all, yes. What did he do this time?

Na he was just on Kornyheiser's 980 show this AM. It was a combination of Windhorst licking Tony's ass for his legendary status and columns back in the day and Kornyheiser fingering fat**** Windhorst in his fat vagina while declaring his love for him and naming him the next great sports journalist of our times. All while making dinner plans with each other for tonight. Shockingly, Windhorst doesn't like Asian food. I figured fat**** garbled down anything

Next up on "My 600-LB Life: Brian"

  6. You did not hurt my feelings dude, lol.

Your post was obviously directed at me and I did not want to disappoint you. If you could pick my brain over what I have heard and experienced in my career...believe me what you said would be a insignificant after thought.

    Peace

I swear to God that my post wasn't directed at you. I knew someone on here was a CO, wouldn't be able to remember who, and even if I could, I wasn't thinking about them when I posted what I posted. So don't take it personal. When you replied to my original post I just assumed you must be the CO and shot back as such.

And ftr, like everything, from the Nazis and Communist Party to the police and CO's, there are horrible ones and there are genuinely good guys with good intentions. I've met a few CO's who I almost assuredly have been friends with in a different life.

So that said, when I say we have a major prison problem in this country and it's just a matter of time until the people wake up (like they seemingly now have with the police, thank the gods), I'm not at all talking about CO's. I'm talking about overcrowding, unfair, even ridiculous, sentencing for nonviolent crimes and also difference in sentencing based on race, and I'm especially talking about the recidivism rate. IIRC 2/3's of all prisoners are back in prison within 3 years.

Like I've said before on here, I met just as many good people in prison as I did in the Army. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the prisoners weren't veterans (keep in mind this was federal prison, not rinky dink county jail (I've actually never been in County jail save for a night for drunk in public when I was 18), so different class of criminals. I'm sure there are still quite a few veterans in county though.

Anyway, if people are people and a majority of folks locked up really ain't all that bad, why the high recidivism rate? Because being a convicted felon is no different than having the Mark of the Beast printed on your ****ing forehead. So you grow up in a ****ty environment, you **** up and get into some **** while you're young, locked up a few years, have a felony conviction or two on your record when you get out. Now say you've got a couple kids need taking care of or your folks are old and can't work anymore and need all the help they can get. You want to get a job. But who's hiring felons that pays a living wage? So what are you going to do? It's a big reason why our ghettos stay ghettos.

One thing that's always made me laugh, something I've seen/noticed over and over. Older folks are as pro-police and prison as they can get. Normally older white folks, I'm not gonna lie. Guess what happens when one of their kids or loved ones catches a case? They wake up REAL fast. Become more outspoken than damn near anyone. So hey, keep setting records on prison pop sizes (records worldwide btw--unless you're counting North Korea where God only knows how many they got). A majority are going to wake up eventually.
