  1. With Derozan out for a long period of time, we could be on top of the East real soon.

Yup. Said that in the NBA thread when the the news of his injury broke. They given any timetable on his return yet?

Back to back chicken sandwich games?

Drew Golden reminds me so much of myself when he gets those tip in putbacks. I bet if you asked him how he does it, he couldn't tell you. Because I know I can't. It's like I just know the right touch and angle to get the tip.

You old enough to remember Rodman?

It has to be said. That Andre Miller cross-up was a thing of beauty.

  2. Know what else I just realized? Blow out win, starters getting big rest and not a sign of Garrett Temple.

Am I right on that or did I just black him out?

Lol and I'm obviously a few minutes behind because speak of the devil. Looks like Randy finally figured out the whole Butler >>> Temple thing

And a chicken sandwich to end the night. This would have been a fun game to attend.

Lmao, you see Gortat celebrating the free chicken sandwich on the bench? Love this team

  3. Wait. You are talking about Beal as "potentially the best shooter in the draft since Ray Allen?"

I mean, I like Beal, but come on now. He shot 44 percent (34 percent on three pointer) during his one year in college.

I know it's your thing (see Kevin Durant to Golden State) but pulling things out my ass just ain't for me.

  4. HUGE game tonight. I know it's early an all, but establishing homecourt against the Heat is a must.

This might be the first time in my entire life, in my 25+ years of Bullets/Wizards fandom, that the 16th game of the season can LEGITIMATELY be called "HUGE". Goddamn it's nice being relevant.

Redwho? DMV is a basketball region. It's damn time the Wizards took their proper spot on the local pecking order.

  5. I saw some little mini-doc on him trying to relearn how to shoot. Holy ****. And people thought Wall had issues. I've never seen anything like that. And from the #2 overall pick, one pick ahead of arguably potentially the best shooter in the draft since Ray Allen.

Yup, if the best thing Abe Pollin ever did was build the Phone Booth downtown with his own money and single-handedly revitalize Chinatown, the second best thing he did was run MJ's ass out of town. And I'm sorry but that took some balls to do.

  6. Huh? They were horrible for like 4 years! They technically should have won the 1st overall at least 2 times according to their records. So they could have had the brow, or Irving, or others. They ended up with Kamba and Bismarck. ( similar to how we ended up with ves)

No, instead of the Brow they ended up with Michael Kidd Gilchrist. Similar to how we ended with Bradley Beal, you know, with the very next pick. How's that worked out for them? Or they could've gotten Lillard or Drummond or even Harrison Barnes.

  7. Danny Miller, Terps made the final four and he transferred out. I don't remember why he transferred.

Lol got to say, pretty proud of myself for remembering that.

(I was a HUGE Terps fan though back in the day, pre-championship, pre-Final Fours, hell pre-Joe Smith even.

I was brought up on all things local and followed Georgetown, GW, American, etc, went to Mason summer bball camps ever year and taken to their games constantly, so on and so forth. Above all though, I was raised on ACC basketball, raised on ACC legend and lore, and being a Washingtonian, the Terps were naturally my squad.

And then they (the ACC, not the Terps) went and ****ed up something great, something perfect. Just so sad I won't be able to share something truly special with my kids and grandkids like it was shared with me.)

Sorry. Sorry for the hijack. With me falling off the NFL...HARD, trying to figure out what to turn my newly-free sports time to and just reminiscing as a result.

  8. Question for you all, the National championship team, no McDonald's All American. They had one on the team who had transferred the previous year, to Notre Dame IIRC. My question: what was his name? For some reason I keep think Danny Miller. How close am I?

(thinking about this because listening to Terps talk on 980 right now (guess what 106.7 the Fail is talking about?) and they're discussing the McDonald's All American the Terps got now and how until he tests the NBA waters
