  1. Agreed, I didn't think it was a big deal at all, although I did laugh at @Skinsinparadise saying when it happens to him he is shook for at least 30 minutes lol. But if that's the focus for the talking heads and that's all they can criticize this owner for, that's a refreshing change.
  2. Scherff was a great pick. Moses was hot garbage before playing next to him, and Cousins took off in 2015. With one pick, we solved RG, RT, and QB. That's great ROI. A solid o-line is a huge aid in a QBs development. We all know the story of David Carr, who the Texans threw out to the wolves and became shell shocked. If he started his career out with a decent o-line, who knows how his career would've played out. If Howell is constantly getting pressured, and our offense is struggling, that can mess with a young QBs confidence and growth. If we had a chance to solidify our oline and in turn discover that Howell is our QB for the long term, I would gladly sacrifice the 5th overall pick in 2024.
  3. Agreed, I remember them as less than pedestrian, so am surprised to see that #12 ranking. The discouraging this is we didn't see Cousins hit his stride until the oline was improved. In Cousins' case, thankfully for him, the oline was patched up in time for his first full season as starter, and it allowed his growth. If the line wasn't improved, and his 2015 was as unspectacular as his 2014, who knows how the rest of his career would've played out from there. He may have been a Davis Mills, quickly replaced and destined to ride the pine. I like Howell's potential, and I'm probably not as down on the OL as most, but after seeing how important the upgraded line was to identifying that you have found your QB in Cousins in 2015, it's demoralizing to see Howell in such a tough spot as he enters his first full season at QB. We need to build confidence and positive energy ASAP.
  4. Lewan is suing Dr James Andrews for botching his ACL surgery in 2020, so I think he is done. Risner would be a great addition imo. Plug and play at LG. It makes sense to me to redshirt/IR Stromberg and Daniels if they don't feel they're ready and want to give them more time. However, if they are planning on carrying them on the active roster, signing Risner means cutting a young guy like Paul, Charles or Brooks. They might want to see what they've got in those guys before letting one of them go. Risner would help in the short term, but you might let a cheap young lineman go that would hurt in the long term. I'm not saying I would pass on Risner to keep Brooks, just speculating at what their mindset could be. But predicting the mindset of this FO is impossible.
  5. Kirk was unspectacular in 2014, and the line was pretty bad. When we drafted scherff in 2015, our line improved and that's when Cousins blossomed. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same thing with our current situation. A young QB struggling due to constant pressure, who finally takes off when (hopefully) the oline improves.
  6. Branch and Campbell looking good for Detroit. Not sure if the lions can live up to their hype, but they will definitely be fun to watch this year.
  7. I watched the Joe Theismann A Football Life last night. Highly recommended. If the Dolphins hadn't originally proposed that he must return 100% of his signing bonus for any reason he was not on the team (with war in Vietnam still happening), man what an effect it would've had on our franchise.
  8. Nice pick 6 by tycen Anderson. Must be a nice feeling "just got my roster spot baby!"
  9. And they traded up to get Henry, I don't see them giving up on him just yet. I think both get a full season with us. Maybe an IR stint for a minor injury to keep them in the fold.
  10. Alright alright, we are 14 minutes past scheduled kickoff and we haven't given up a sack yet.
  11. I saw where Ron praised Brissett when asked about Sam and where people were ragging on him for his loose lips. Frustrating to see Ron give the talking heads fuel for criticism and negativity.
  12. 1. If players came to RR with concerns about EBs behavior during practice, and RR told the players to talk to EB about it, why is the media talking about it? There was no way to keep that in house? 2. Also, while a coach ideally shouldn't be yelling/swearing at players, these are grown men. Kinda sad that players decided to go over EBs head to complain. My high school coaches were ruthless, said things every day that would get someone fired today, and none of us went to anyone to complain, and we were 14 years old. 3. This will all be forgotten after our first preseason game.
  13. I think we have to take 10 due to the uncertainty of guys like Charles, Paul, Daniels, Stromberg, and Brooks. Our backups have potential, but have a long way to go so the extra guy would really help.
  14. Fuku isn't a spot for food. Thats just a sign all of the fans left for Snyder on his way out. I'm not from the area, I can't believe that's the name of a legit business lol.
  15. This is what every one of us were saying about RG3 in the fall of 2013. Hopefully the ending for Young pans out a little better. I'm rooting for him, but I'll believe it when I see it. And there is no way he should be wearing a C over Allen or Payne.
  16. People were disappointed when they moved scherff from T to G after he was taken 6th overall, but he locked down that position (when healthy), and the domino effect was Moses improved, and in turn Cousins improved. I'm not thrilled with the offseason OL approach either. I had 1 guy on my free agent wish list : LG Isaac seumalo, who signed with pitt for a friendly 3 yr 21 mil. Even less than Wylie, and it makes me want to vomit every time I think about it. But that's water under the bridge at this point. You put the best lineup out there, regardless of draft position or salary etc. Then hopefully they have a better approach to improve the OL next offseason.
  17. I would like to see 98+% home attendance. Somehow, we were 86% last year. I thought it would've been below that, and it still ranked dead last by a mile, but we know it also included a lot of no shows and opposing fans. https://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance We are only 20th in capacity, so I think getting close to 100% is attainable. 13 teams were at 100%+ last year. https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nfl-largest-stadiums/ I want to see Fed Ex sold out with burgundy and gold in the stands, not the other teams colors. My second measurable goal would be ZERO negative stories of misconduct of any kind from our front office. Those 2 are my short term goals. A playoff appearance would be nice, but a higher draft pick and coaching changes may be best for the long haul, so that's not as high on my list for 2023 as the other 2 I mentioned. A state of the art stadium in DC, and winning ON the field, are my long term goals.
