Trading Fuller now because we drafted Forbes and BSJ is healthy at the moment, is similar to trading Moses because we drafted Cosmi. And that looks foolish now. Let's not panic the moment we actually have some depth by flushing it down the toilet. And if it's for a JAG like David Sharpe I'm gonna puke. Fuller's experience and versatility will be helpful for the development of the young guys. I don't expect them to trade him. He has a lot more value to us in 2023 given the youth of our secondary then he would to a new team that has to trade assets to acquire a CB in the last year of his deal with a cap hit of 8.5. The comp pick we get when/if he walks after 2023 will probably be at least as good as any return we get in a trade.

Scherff was a great pick. Moses was hot garbage before playing next to him, and Cousins took off in 2015. With one pick, we solved RG, RT, and QB. That's great ROI. A solid o-line is a huge aid in a QBs development. We all know the story of David Carr, who the Texans threw out to the wolves and became shell shocked. If he started his career out with a decent o-line, who knows how his career would've played out. If Howell is constantly getting pressured, and our offense is struggling, that can mess with a young QBs confidence and growth. If we had a chance to solidify our oline and in turn discover that Howell is our QB for the long term, I would gladly sacrifice the 5th overall pick in 2024.

Agreed, I remember them as less than pedestrian, so am surprised to see that #12 ranking. The discouraging this is we didn't see Cousins hit his stride until the oline was improved. In Cousins' case, thankfully for him, the oline was patched up in time for his first full season as starter, and it allowed his growth. If the line wasn't improved, and his 2015 was as unspectacular as his 2014, who knows how the rest of his career would've played out from there. He may have been a Davis Mills, quickly replaced and destined to ride the pine. I like Howell's potential, and I'm probably not as down on the OL as most, but after seeing how important the upgraded line was to identifying that you have found your QB in Cousins in 2015, it's demoralizing to see Howell in such a tough spot as he enters his first full season at QB. We need to build confidence and positive energy ASAP.

Lewan is suing Dr James Andrews for botching his ACL surgery in 2020, so I think he is done. Risner would be a great addition imo. Plug and play at LG. It makes sense to me to redshirt/IR Stromberg and Daniels if they don't feel they're ready and want to give them more time. However, if they are planning on carrying them on the active roster, signing Risner means cutting a young guy like Paul, Charles or Brooks. They might want to see what they've got in those guys before letting one of them go. Risner would help in the short term, but you might let a cheap young lineman go that would hurt in the long term. I'm not saying I would pass on Risner to keep Brooks, just speculating at what their mindset could be. But predicting the mindset of this FO is impossible.

Kirk was unspectacular in 2014, and the line was pretty bad. When we drafted scherff in 2015, our line improved and that's when Cousins blossomed. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same thing with our current situation. A young QB struggling due to constant pressure, who finally takes off when (hopefully) the oline improves.

1. If players came to RR with concerns about EBs behavior during practice, and RR told the players to talk to EB about it, why is the media talking about it? There was no way to keep that in house? 2. Also, while a coach ideally shouldn't be yelling/swearing at players, these are grown men. Kinda sad that players decided to go over EBs head to complain. My high school coaches were ruthless, said things every day that would get someone fired today, and none of us went to anyone to complain, and we were 14 years old. 3. This will all be forgotten after our first preseason game.

Welcome to the Redskins Chase Young DE Ohio State
KillBill26 replied to Sacks 'n' Stuff's topic in Around the NFL
This is what every one of us were saying about RG3 in the fall of 2013. Hopefully the ending for Young pans out a little better. I'm rooting for him, but I'll believe it when I see it. And there is no way he should be wearing a C over Allen or Payne.
