  1. Im not in the “hive” and obviously Heinicke has a weak arm and there are lots of ducks but he’s what we have this year. We have a chance for the playoffs and if we get in who knows. Do you wanna see Wentz back in there? I don’t! For all those anti-Taylor folks, I hope you guys can at least root for him to do well this year and let’s worry about quarterback next year. It may have seemed that way because we blew a couple early timeouts in the first half.
  2. How much did we dodge a bullet that Russell didn’t want to come here? Surely he wanted an extension and if we gave it to him, we probably never resign Terry, pick up the option on Sweat, and we have no way to create a bench with the lost draft picks. I’m sure Denver is having buyer’s remorse and their team is in ruins for the next few years!
  3. Kind of good but also kind of sad that this thread started the day after last nites game while the Eagles prediction thread had all of 5 measly pages. Obviously last nites win brought some fans back and I hope you naysayers/Debbie Downers can just accept our team THIS YEAR for what it is. A decent team with an everyday man at qb, a solid run game, some pretty good playmakers on offense, and an underrated defense that seems to be getting better each week. Cheers to another step toward making the playoffs!
  4. Watching Post Game Live and they are showing a live shot from Paynes IG account on the plane ride home. Apparently they wrapped Heinicke in a bunch chains ala Cousins but the best part was seeing Heinicke drinking a Busch beer. Frickin Busch beer. Talk about why the team rallies behind this guy!
  5. The score was like 35-7 in the third quarter when Tannehill threw that last pick 6. Josh Allen was also replaced by Case Keenum in that game. Was Allen also “benched”?
  6. Yes he was replaced in that game but he started the next game. Bottom line is that the Titans under Vrabel have their identity which is run, play solid defense and get timely plays. That’s why they felt they could trade AJ Brown. Im just saying with our current qb situation, we need to follow the same recipe in order to sneak into the playoffs and if we get to the dance, who knows. I’ll worry about our qb situation in late January.
  7. Try again. Tannehill was never benched. He got hurt and Malik Willis had to start.
  8. You must not follow the NFL. Even with Tannehill out a couple games, they are in first place in their division at 6-3!
  9. Guys who cares? We are currently not a team who is gonna put up 40 points a game. We are gonna play close games probably each and every game. Running the ball wears down a defense. Period! Just about every offensive lineman prefer to run block and impose their will on the defense. That’s what we need and will do the rest of this season.
  10. By the way, I wrote in the prediction thread that I hoped Ron would be uber aggressive and he finally was in this game. Besides going for it on a couple fourth down plays, a perfect example was the possession right before half. How many times in the past would we have just taken a knee especially with a lead. Not tonight! That 58 yarder by Slye was huge. I could hear a bit of an energy leave the stadium after that kick. Definitely a feeling from Eagles fans saying oh oh there goes our undefeated season.
  11. Watching from the stands tonight it looked like Wentz was on the sideline genuinely rooting on the team and even Taylor. Too bad he will be doing that the rest of the season and earning $28 million for it.
  12. The 82 and 83 teams did it with Riggo grinding out 3 yards a run. Theisman was not Joe Montana but did enough behind a strong positive run game and strong defense to take us to 2 Bowls. Sure the NFL is different today and not saying we are gonna win it all but it needs to be our identity to win ball games right now.
  13. No you said there’s no long term answer for the most important position on the field. Let me know when we get the next Josh Allen okay…
  14. Yes our run game wasn’t pretty but it is our identity. Run tough, wear down the opponents defense, keep our defense fresh and keep us in manageable third downs. Ron may have finally put stake down on the identity of this team.
  15. So what do you want to see happen? Us tanking the season to get a high draft pick? Even if we get one of the top qbs in the draft, there’s no assurance that we will all of a sudden get the next Mahomes. How about savoring the season for what it is? Enjoy the moment not worrying about years to come. Right now there’s no team that is a guarantee to win it all and the one team that had the best chance just got man handled by us. If you’re a fan, then root for them this season.
  16. Can’t win with some of you guys?! We won and we’re.500 and still alive for the playoffs. Who cares how we won but we did against arguably the best team in football. Who cares how Heinicke looked. He played smart gutsy and clutch.
  17. Just leaving the game. I told all my buddies who are Eagles fans before the game that we would shock the world! I hoped Ron would be ultra aggressive and he was. Finally! Love leaving the Linc without hearing their stupid chant. E A G L E S L O S T!
  18. Im headed to tailgating soon. My Eagles buddies like to get there early to get “their spot”. I’ll be in the heart of the most ignorant fans in the country, worse than Bills Mafia. Sure I have lots of close friends that are Eagles fans but they are just plain awful to be around especially game day. Heres an actual text from one of my buddies from last nite (edited curse word) Hope you’re getting your sleep tonight Sammy bc while Devante Smith skull fu&*ed that secondary of yours last time I predict a huge game out of AJ Brown. Get your popcorn ready. 3 ints for Heineken I mentioned prior that I want to see a competitive game but I also want to see Ron not play it conservative but be ultra aggressive. It’s Monday night football, the biggest stage in the regular season against an undefeated team that is favored by 11. We are expected to get blown out but what better way to say F U to all the naysayers then to not only win but win with style. Take deep shots on the first play and often to Terry and Jahan. LETS DO THIS!
  19. Obviously few are giving us any chance to win. I just hope for a competitive game where we play fairly well in all 3 facets. Offense moves the ball, defense contains Hurts and doesn’t allow Brown to roam freely, and special teams is able to flip the field. By the way I live in Philly so I go each game with my buddies here every year. Hopefully I’m not trekking it to the strip club by halftime.
  20. With Taylor at qb, it seems we always have 10+ play drives with us running effectively and Taylor dinking and dunking. Sure he has had a couple bombs to Terry and Curtis but thats an exception. Our formula for winning with Heinicke is run the ball (regardless of how many yards per rush) and make it a manageable 3rd down where Heinicke seems to be effective getting the first. Again why throw it to Logan, who hasn’t done squat since coming back from injury on a second down play. I’m watching the Titans right now and they have an identity under Vrabel that hasn’t changed in a couple years. Even when Henry was hurt last year they ran the ball all the time while Tannehill is not expected to throw for 300 yards. My point is what is the identity of this offense the last 3 years? We are not equipped at qb to be a Chiefs like offense throwing it 50 times. We need to win with a mistake free offense, effective running, occasional big play, controlling the time of possession and a solid to great defense. Period.
  21. First I just wished we would play like we’re down 2 scores right from the start of the game. Ron is just not a good game day coach anymore, maybe he never was … even in Carolina. Say what you want about Scott but he takes his cues from Ron and what he wants. Ron simply doesn’t dictate the flow of the game and instead is always reacting to what is going on in the game rather than initiate the flow and tempo of the game. Plus whatever happened to the so called Riverboat Ron? He always seems to gamble at the wrong time whether that’s going for it on 4th down or a challenge. For example, I get the feeling Ron wanted to go long to start the second half regardless and we see Taylor throwing into obviously triple coverage. Okay good it worked out. Now we’re soon up 10 and its the 4th quarter and the Vikings hadn’t done much on offense besides the first series of the game. Ron knows Heinickes propensity to throw interceptions and rather than putting the game away by playing SMASH MOUTH FOOTBALL, he decides to throw it to Logan who hasn’t caught a ball in the last 2 games on a 2nd down play. If you know the formula right now is to keep it close and play it safe why not just run the ball? I hope whoever the new owner is brings in a real GM who hires a coach who can create a true identity for our team! The home team gets 3 points on the line so if we played at a neutral site it would be a touchdown line. Surprised it’s not more.
