  1. I saw this result or a similar one months ago. Not surprised in the slightest. The best outcome now is that the change is real and the organization remains pointed in the right direction.
  2. There is definitely truth to this statement. I think the reason I abhor Redwolves so much is none of the designs I saw spoke to me. I also think it would be a mistake to keep “Red” in the name. A tough aggressive looking logo would certainly help me get over it…in time.
  3. I was wondering myself. At some point I would imagine they are going to change the web address if this site. I thought that might be what was happening yesterday.
  4. Today is the 15th Anniversary of my sig. Thanks again @TorresA
  5. Agreed, the most dedicated fans. Same for concerts for me. I would rather see a rock/metal show in a place that holds 5000 people, than an indoor arena of 20000 where most are wine and cheesers who are just looking for a place to be. The best shows I have ever been to aside from Guns n' Roses in 2016 at Fed Ex were at small outdoor venues like Meriweather. If they are able to pull that off it would be a coup at this point.
  6. I'm not going to lie it stings seeing Ryan going to the Eagles. I would have liked to wish him well as a player but that makes it impossible. Going to be very strange seeing him on the other side.
  7. I’m forced to agree. Not really pleased with that look at all. I would like an open stadium with a retractable roof, like the Death Star. The new stadium also needs to have a partial roof over the stands for crowd noise. Seattle has that and that is why they have the illusion of being the loudest fan base. The sound is reflected back onto the field.
  8. I was on the wait list for several years. If I recall correctly around the 2009 season my name finally came up. The product on the field was just so poor at that time I couldn't justify spending three grand on two nose bleed seats to watch them get crushed most of the time. 10 years ago I would have had to pinch pennies to make it work, and at that time I just couldn't justify the expense. I imagine most people are in the same boat. Now I'm older and (and a tad wealthier) and I would perhaps consider it again upon retirement from my current career. I enjoy going when I do go to the games, usually one or two year, but I can just as easily have a party in the man cave and watch on T.V. These days it is easy to forget that during the best years of Gibbs 2 this team was setting attendance records in the NFL, over 90,000 in attendance at regular season games. We are on the right track now, but it was a long hard fall.
  9. I do have a theory that possibly Dan pays this loan back with what he gets from Bezos. Maybe Bezos has literally offered a sum that he can’t refuse. Kind of like bidding on a house. Somebody overpays to close the deal, but gets what they want, and turns the profit on the back end. Again, this is just me talking and speculating. Edit: Dan was a fan, but everybody has a price. Bezos literally has money to burn.
  10. I like the signing for depth and veteran leadership. However, I hope once the season starts Heinike is the starter, because that will mean we may have found our guy. If not, the search goes on
  11. I think the most likely scenario is that the report was leaked purposely prior to it be sent to the NFL. The reason is somebody had concerns they would cover up or downplay the findings. Another theory I have is the report the junks have is an early draft, and the recommendations could have changed somewhat...perhaps used as leverage to gain more cooperation. Not as likely.
  12. I don’t think there is any way the junks are lying. No way they go public with something like this unless they know for certain it is accurate. The implications (and liability) could be huge. The only possibility is that it’s not a legit copy of the report, but I would have confirmed it as much as possible before saying a thing. They said they sat on it for a few days which also lends credence. I think it’s legit. Will be interesting to see what the NFL does. I think those that said the NFL is trying to control the narrative are exactly right for reasons I already mentioned in this thread.
  13. I’m not calling for an investigation. I’m not accusing an owner. I’m not bringing suit on any owner. I’m not trying to take anyone’s business from them. I’m speculating that a few or some of them wouldn’t want to set precedent that they themselves would be subject to after the fact.
  14. Nope. I meant exactly what I said. Judge what we know to be true. Don’t accuse anyone without proof. I just doubt that the other owners want the same kind of scrutiny Snyder’s getting on their operation.
  15. I get the dislike for Snyder. I really do. Much of it he has earned. The issue I have is forcing him out because he’s been a “bad” owner, and using a ton of here-say or questionable “eyewitness” testimony to try to force the league’s hand. Of course, there are different levels of bad, and if the report reveals some unforgivable offense he personally has committed in the eyes of the league he will be gone. I doubt the report comes close to that level. I don’t believe much of what people say, because I often question their motives. I also understand that Snyder won’t be living on sardines and pork and beans if he’s forced to sell. He will live in the lap of luxury for the rest of his life. For me that’s not the point. I’m not into character assassination. I don’t hate him that much.
  16. I would say that I agree he has mostly been a very bad owner. No disputing that fact. The most important thing is to win consistently and he has not done that at all. For me does his ownership, and what I have heard about him that has been verified rise to “vile and pathetic?”...those are really harsh terms to describe a person. I’m not prepared today to use those terms to describe him personally. For the most part we agree. I would like to see what the report indicates, but I sense that no matter what is in the report there are many who plan to seize on the tidbits and force the issue as much as possible. I don’t sense that for many (maybe you are in this group, maybe you aren’t) an objective assessment of this report can be made now no matter what it reveals. The plan is already to seize on the slightest transgressions and blow up social media as much as possible to try to force him out.
  17. The criticism of him is very much true on how it relates to his ownership of my favorite team. I’ve never met the man, and don’t know him personally. I wouldn’t cry for him if he lost the team. I do however have my principles and they apply even to to him. I believe in criticizing what we know to be true about what he has done, and reserving judgment on what we don’t know. Unverified witness statements don’t count as the truth and neither does unverified speculation. If the investigation reveals him to be a vile and pathetic man, the NFL can certainly do what it wants...however Pandora’s box would be opened and they are all fair game for the same thing. You set precedent...and it will be interesting to see if the findings of the investigation are so bad that they would be willing to set themselves up for possibly the same thing down the road. Every single one of them has skeletons in the closet I’m sure. At any time they could be accused of the same things.
  18. I’ve been a Dan Snyder critic as much as anyone over the years, but this idea of utilizing the court of public opinion to force the man to lose his business really does not sit well with me. Very un-American. For me the end never justifies the means. If it’s bad enough to get a conviction in a court of law on something...that’s different. If it’s mountains out of ant hills to exact a desired outcome...not good.
  19. They make their living off of stirring the pot. Nobody reasonably expected Alex Smith to ever play a down of professional football again except Alex Smith. To assert otherwise is beyond ridiculous. He came back against all odds. I don’t blame the team one iota for assuming he was done and moving on. 999 people out of 1000 would have been. I’m really annoyed by this whole thing...the team has deserved a lot of criticism over the years, but their handling of Alex Smith is not even in the top 10. Wilbon is raging but I don’t think it’s really about Alex.
  20. The prospect that the moment they finally “get it right” here in Washington...the whole thing could be **** canned for a new owner, however unlikely, does bother me. I like much of what is going on now and would love to see what kind of results they produce.
  21. Oh, make no mistake. He’s being punished for it. He just won’t lose the team over it. If nothing else, maybe he will largely stick to writing checks now and then enjoying the outcomes the people he put in place generate. You know, like any good owner should. Stay out of decisions you don’t need to be or shouldn’t be involved in. In my opinion one of his biggest faults (from the outside looking in) is that he thinks he knows more than he actually does about how to run a football team. All he has to do is get out of his own way and he can be a successful owner. There is still plenty of time for him to have a more positive than negative public image when his time is done. 10 solid years of good decisions and winning more often than not on the field can turn his ship around.
  22. I don’t think you are either, and for all we know you could be right. As far as what it means in the big picture. Very little now. Nothing earth moving is going to happen as a result of this investigation. I can read between the lines. Dan Snyder and his posterity are going to own this team for decades unless he is caught red-handed breaking the law or there is smoking gun evidence of some unforgivable offense in the eyes of the league. My personal opinion is we are ALL better off if it’s that way, for reasons not fit for this forum.
  23. You may or may not be surprised what people are capable of doing when their neck is on the block. I have seen some scorched earth examples in my career when the heat was turned up on people. Larry was incriminated also in these allegations, but they are just that...allegations. I doubt anybody is going to want to talk about his now in public. I'm sure there are gag orders with any current employees who know details, and former employees would stand to be sued if they start "telling the real truth" in public. The court of public opinion will continue to press the issue, especially for those fans who are clinging to hope beyond hope that something emerges that forces the league to get rid of Snyder. I just don't see it happening.
