The kids do seem to like this new look, which is probably more important to the bean counters than what middle-aged disgruntled Redskins fans feel about Commanders (definitely including myself in this group). I mean I get most people here hate the name and the look, but the fact is the gear appears to be selling pretty well. If it truly is that bad to the population at large, who is buying all the stuff? The situation is untenable now with Snyder. A new owner would take years to build up the animosity that Snyder has over the last 23 years, even if some mistakes are made early on.

Not sacred, not yet, but seriously who in the hell wants to deal with that again, and then all the endless ****ing and moaning that comes when they AGAIN don’t pick Redwolves or “something better”. Going back to those conversations it’s been well documented I did not like Redwolves, because I didn’t think it was fitting or noble enough for an NFL team. With that said, I probably would have grown to like the name had it been the choice, but the endless whining over it not being chosen for the last 9 months has made me hate it more than Cowboys.

Something that is irritating me as this conversation has developed is this notion that this new owner would automatically choose to rebrand the team. I want to be happy Snyder appears to be heading out the door, but I sure as hell ain’t trying to deal with all that rebrand crap again. I think expecting that another rebrand is coming simply because a new owner may be coming is setting yourself up for serious disappointment at a time we should all be ecstatic. I’m pretty sure the NFL at large had significant input into this rebrand here in D.C, and I doubt very seriously they are going to want to do it again. The conversation has been if Dan Snyder leaves it’s all good. Now it’s become if Dan Snyder leaves and the new owner picks another name it’s all good. I still don’t get this irrational obsessive hate from some for Commanders. It’s better than a slew of other team names across the sports spectrum and it makes sense for D.C.
