  1. I am also going with some work friends. I can’t go to them all but I go when I can.
  2. The fact is a large part of the problem is not that “other teams fans travel well” it’s many of them live right here in the DMV. Most of those Bills fans in the stadium did not travel here from Buffalo. We are an area where a lot of people who are NFL fans have for whatever reason chosen to be a fan of a team not from here. Also, just like with many Nationals fans being former Orioles fans, many Ravens fans are former Washington fans. The long time stalwarts here in the DMV, the Redskins and Orioles took their fanbase for granted for too many years and a lot of so called “fans” jumped ship from both franchises.
  3. At the end of the day they lost a game that most people expected them to lose. We are 2-1 after 3 weeks. They have plenty of time to improve and have a meaningful season. The loss was ugly but whether it was 37-3 or 10-7 it still only counts as one loss.
  4. I couldn’t participate in the thread today but I’m sure it was just as rational and even-keeled as normal. 😄 Sometimes they do this early in the season. I’m certainly not happy about the ugly loss today but we are far from toast. Today nothing went right. The game just got away from them.
  5. Only watched piecemeal today on my phone. I had a prior engagement couldn’t miss, but seems like the sloppy play on opening day continues. Take the win though.
  6. Apparently, two lines of the metro are nearby and there is room for an in-station. Regarding acreage from the "Perfect for the NFL" link above.
  7. The distance between the Power Plant site and RFK about 1 mile. Would be cool if they could figure out a way to use both locations in a complex type of development.
  8. An old power plant in DC’s Ward 7 is ripe for redevelopment. Let’s not make it a trash and recycling plant. – Greater Greater Washington (ggwash.org) Check out the proximity to the old RFK site. I did not realize it was this close.
  9. Check out this article from 2012. Does anybody know what became of this site? Pepco Benning Road site is perfect for the NFL or FBI – Greater Greater Washington (ggwash.org) Actually, the site is apparently vacant since the plant was demolished in 2014. I would not be surprised at all if this site is in play. Benning Road Power Plant - Wikipedia
  10. If any Ravens fans give you **** today about acting like we won the Super Bowl over this pre-season game, remind them as tactfully as you choose that on this day 13 years ago, they won a pre-season game against this team and gave Jim Zorn a Gatorade shower. Don't let them convince you otherwise, it bothers them that they lost and the streak is over.
  11. I’m here and I love what I see out of Sam. I think we have our guy guys and gals…finally.
  12. Hey guys, I went ahead and bought tickets for tonights game, but I can't seem to find a parking pass to buy. Are that not charging for parking for this game? Nevermind, found my answer.
  13. For the sake of argument, this would infer the stadium would be in the City or in it's immediate vicinity correct?
  14. I think the solution would be to hold Training Camp somewhere in Virginia. Not Richmond obviously, but somewhere further north. The advantage to Landover for the HQ and practice facilities is that it's only a few miles outside of the city. They have 200 acres of land on that site that they already own.
  15. I would very much like to see the team headquarters and practice facilities move to Landover on the site of Fed Ex, and then the stadium be in the City. Sell the land in Ashburn.
  16. Yeah, he needs to be careful. He’s not sitting in his living room talking to his best bros
  17. Offense started the game a little rough but have settled in nicely both with Sam and Jacoby. Defense is looking sharp.
  18. The thing that immediately comes to mind for me is how he handled Sean Taylor's death. I thought that was his finest moment as the owner, and evocative of the kind of things that an owner should be doing when life intervenes. Not making draft picks.
  19. Snyder did the worst thing any owner could do early on. He made it all about himself and then acted on his worst impulses. Rick Snider is right, and I’ve made this point many times here as well. Snyder thought he was so smart with his “go **** yourself” money he could come in with nearly zero football experience and be the key player in building a NFL winner. In reality, he treated the team like a reactionary fan would…because at the end of the day despite all his money that is all he was. A rich fan…no more qualified to run an NFL football team than anybody reading this post.
  20. They have all been funny, but this was your crowning achievement. Still makes me chuckle nearly 20 years on.
