Moss passes her mom  a ginger mint and Rudy Giuliani describes it as "passing a USB port like a vial of heroin or cocaine" is just about the most racist thing I've heard all year.  Giuliani is a drunken disgrace.

Trump KNEW they weren't doing anything illegal, yet he publicly accused Moss and her mother, over and over again, of criminal activity.  They need a good lawyer to sue Trump, Giuliani, et.al. out of every penny.

Of all the disgusting things that have occurred regarding and since the November 3rd election, what you described above is probably the most heinous to me personally. Simple, humble citizens being dragged into the national spotlight for hate fodder and their lives endangered because some big turd can't fathom losing his precious power grift. Rudy knee-jerked and saw them as dispensable little pawns and fed them to a madman and his massive legion of orcs, who forced themselves into her GRANDMOTHER's home to make some kind of "citizens' arrest."

I was sick to my stomach during her testimony and her mother's taped testimony. F these people, honestly.

I hate to say it, but he's teflon.  The teflon Don.

I once worked with a textbook narcissist.  He was awful.  Not on the level of Donald Trump because, quite frankly, he didn't have the balls to be as outwardly brazen.  But the one thing I learned about people like this is that they're like the 10,000 hour rule on crack.

In other words, it's like breathing to them.  And they've spent their entire life lying, cheating, manipulating, grifting, whatever you want to call it.  Think about how if you spent every minute of every hour of every day of your entire life from the time you were a little kid just honing one particular skill.  You'd probably be amazing at it.

That's what Donald Trump is.  That's what a narcissist is.  Literally a lifetime of getting things over on other people.  As I said, it's like breathing to them.

Donald Trump got, what, 60+ million people to vote for him?  What's a congressional hearing to him?  Absolutely nothing.

Also- He was POTUS. There's just no way the DoJ will convict a former POTUS. He was always teflon because he knew how to extend cases and exhaust the system. Now that he's been prez, he's untouchable for life. As is always the case, many who do his bidding will pay the price for him.

I mean it's great that these hearings will be televised, but nothing's going to come of this.  The DOJ is not going to go after the bigger fish involved in the riots, so what will this ultimately accomplish?  The people who watch tonight are already convinced that the previous CIC orchestrated the planning and execution of the riots.  They don't need to be convinced that this was a large scale operation.  The people who NEED to be convinced (aka the cult of Trump) won't watch, because their preferred news networks won't even air the hearings (FOX, OAN, Newsmax, etc).  So the question is, will this even move the needle?  I tend to think that this will be forgotten in about a month, when 45 announces that he's seeking re-election.

You're 100% correct. This entire hearing process will be an echo chamber. I'll be watching as much as I can because I need to know more but yes- all information, zero retribution is what I expect.

  4. I just spent about 15 minutes watching the gun control hearings on C-SPAN. 15 minutes was all I needed to reaffirm my lack of confidence that any compromise will take place. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

It's ceremonial. See you guys after the next school shooting.

That she hulk trailer looked god awful.

We may be seeing a situation where the CGI isn't completely finished yet. Sort of like "Pink Thanos" in the early Infinity War trailer. (Although the She-Hulk trailer is "official" so...) 😟

However- I don't know if you ever watched Orphan Black but Tatiana Maslani is fantastic. Dynamic range with a nose for comedy. Very good actor. I'm holding my pessimism until I see her in this because she alone can carry a series. Fingers crossed!

FANTASTIC show. It's german so if you're not the subtitle or dub type you might have trouble with it but honestly, it might be one of my top 5 all-time faves. Incredible concept, killer performances, and awesome soundtrack!

Either of them as good as SyFy's version of 12 Monkeys?

IMHO, DARK is way better. 12 Monkeys is good. Dark is honestly just mind-blowing. Highly recommend. Like I told gbear though, it's german. Some folks don't like the foreign stuff because of dubbing or subtitles. I watched it with english dubbing. English is a germanic language so the dubbing really isn't too jarring. Great, great show.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. They talk plenty of **** about it, but there's no way they'd be able to survive without the federal government. Plus, as an independent country they'd have to negotiate trade deals with the USA too. So no more buying and selling wherever you want whenever you want.

And that whole power grid thing? Texas president Cruz would be spending a LOT of time in Cancun.

The QAnon Queen Told Followers They Didn’t Need to Pay Bills. It Didn’t End Well.

Followers of a QAnon influencer who's convinced some Canadians she’s the true Queen of Canada are saying their utilities are being cut off because they were told by their sovereign that they no longer had to pay bills.

One woman has repeatedly told her fellow QAnon Queen followers she’s “stopped paying hydro, water, natural gas, property taxes, line of credit, and my credit cards.” She pushes hard on her fellow true believers to join her in not paying their bills and chastising those who continue to pay.

“The more who do it, the quicker we can be free of enslavement,” she wrote on one of the group’s Telegram channels. “Those still living in fear are making it harder to get out. Don’t be afraid, because we’re in this together.”

Many, many others have posted that they, too, have stopped paying their bills after hearing that Romana Didulo—a QAnon influencer who has them convinced she’s running Canada behind the scenes—made a decree that electricity is free. Several have posted their power has been shut off or that they were on the verge of having it shut off and relented to finally paying.

"Dear (Queen Romana), when will the service companies stop shutting off our services for nonpayment?" one follower asked Didulo recently. "I just had my water supply shut off today in Stratford, Ontario."

I suspect the Q Queen isn't getting her utilities cut off... because she's probably paying her bills with donator money.

    Trump can't read.

He also can't recite those words for fear of bursting into flame.

Srsly that video is insulting even to an agnostic like myself. Absurd, perverted, transparently comical. I'm sure Melania THINKS she means it but Donald is no doubt giggling to himself that the crowd is so mislead about his claims of allegiance to anything "godly." Sickening.

When Trump has faced zero consequences so far for any of this, at some point people tune out.

Yep. At some point fatigue simply sets in. The wheels of justice turn SOOOO slowly and Trump is a master at building speed bumps along the way. I've never heard of anyone so able to draw out legal peril. It almost seems like prosecuting entities get as tired as the people do and just surrender their cases.

There might also be something said for piling up SO much on the table for investigators that there becomes too much to prosecute. "Just keep committing crimes for them to look into and they'll never get around to making you pay" philosophy.

As for Thomas, there are definitely two cozy beds in our govt that are basically untouchable- The White House and the Supreme Court. How does one even begin to shake the limb of a 200 year-old oak tree? The trunk of that tree provides too lofty and arduous a pursuit.

There already are mass graves in Mariupol. No more mass graves sounds good, but what will convince the Russians to stop?

I had JUST finished reading that on Twitter and came here to post it. Unbelievable and so very reflecting of what's going on here with trump's disinformation.

  12. My conflicting takes...

    1. What Will Smith did was knee-jerk, petty, and violent. What he said during his acceptance speech was hypocritical and self-serving. He could have waited and sent a message to Rock during his speech and it might have had a much more meaningful effect.

Too many Hollywood celebs are too used to being treated like royalty and it showed last night. Get off your high horses and get some thicker skin.

    2. The Oscars ceremony is not a roast. It's a very formal recognition of industry effort. It's an internationally-watched tribute. Comedians have gone a little too rogue over the last 5-10 years and last night a reset button was pushed. I know the joke wasn't THAT bad but it still deserved SOME backlash.

So there you have it. I'm torn. It should not have gone down the way it did but we might see a little more respect from Oscar hosts in the future.
