And he's probably not even in true game shape yet.

My complaint is that we didn't run it enough. I also don't think we have a "break one off" type RB on the roster. Robinson is tough and Gibson is crafty, but neither one of them are going to juke or escape defenders and take it to the house... or even for 30 yards. That's not going to happen. When we run the ball, we're trying to control clock and wear down defenses. You have to run the ball 35+ times to do that.

Are we being too hard on the o-line and the entire offense? Here's my semi-worthless take: It's a brand new scheme, folks. These things take time. We all know that in preseason teams go "vanilla," so it's not like we were running the exact plays that EB has installed. The season opener was literally the first live trial with a new coach, a virtual rookie QB, and some new offensive line pieces. It's a complete reboot on that side of the ball. Week one is always a wacky week in the NFL. Good teams can look bad and bad teams can look good. Does anyone think the Steelers or Giants will spend the whole season looking like they did on Sunday? I sure don't. The Buffalo Bills and Cincinnatti Bengals looked pretty anemic this week. The Daniel Snyder era has turned us all into kneejerk panic people and that might be justified but what we saw at FedEx on Sunday is something I expected. To assume that we'd run up the score on Arizona just because of the perception of who they are and the inflated perception of what our offense should be ALREADY was just naive. The offensive line will get better. They won't be "great" but they do need time to gel, as does the whole offense while adjusting to a very different plan than Scott Turner had. It's week one, Commanders fans. We could very well lose to Denver in week 2 but we can't panic. Makes perfect sense that the offense didn't come out with a perfect grasp on everything, including and especially the o-line.

Week 1 is always a wacky week. Bad teams look good, good teams look bad. It is what it is. I'll take a win. 1. New offensive scheme that they don't use much of in pre-season games, so this was our first real live action under EB's offense. The o-line will get better... but not a lot better. 2. Sam Howell is a work in progress but he did have the best stats of all the NFCE QBs. (Thus the week 1 wackiness.) 3. Antonio Gibson. Good guy, good athlete, GOOD BYE.

I actually had no idea who he is. Just thought the stuff about pace and passing was interesting.

For those of you who subscribe to MAX (formerly HBO max), there's a show on there called "Full Circle" starring Timothy Olyphant, Claire Danes, and Dennis Quaid. REALLY good. It's about a botched kidnapping that involves some immigrant teens from Guyana and a wealthy family's past/secrets. It's only 4 episodes in and I'm hooked. Highly recommend.

I swore loudly for 2 years to everyone around me that this DoJ would never, ever, EVER indict a former POTUS. I think I even posted that opinion here on ES about 15-20 times. Obviously I was wrong but I agree with you that Trump will never see a minute of prison time. The slap on the wrist that you're referring to will most likely come in the form of a plea bargain where he drops out of the presidential race and agrees to never run for office again. The nightmare scenario is where he's able to run out the clock on these trials, gets elected back to the White House, and pardons himself before any trials come to a verdict. Alll-in-all though, you're right. I just don't see true justice being done for the two most egregious crimes in presidential history. Stealing/possibly selling secret govt documents and literal, planned, open insurrection. I know the wheels of justice turn slowly but I'm still in utter shock that it's taken this long to even press charges for Jan6.

A new new start! All things Josh Harris and new ownership group.

Change of ownership and look at me! Back in the Stadium forum. A little bit of hope making me see reasons to post here again. -
Admittedly, I didn't think he'd ever be arrested/indicted for anything ever and probably posted that prediction here a few times. I was wrong, obviously. However, that was a civil trial (E. Jean Carroll) so there was never any risk for him as far as being convicted or imprisoned. I think he'll be arrested/indicted for the classified documents case and I only say that because the meeting his layers had with the DoJ makes it seem imminent. That's the "once" I voted for in the poll. ...................................... The Stormy Daniels payment will never result in an arrest or indictment IMHO. Too long ago, too minor, too many stumbles in the progress of this case. Cohen took the hit and in the long run that's what history will settle for. I'd say it's 50/50 regarding the Georgia election interference case but I'm skeptical. The recorded phone call with the GA Sec. of State used to make me think "slam dunk" but it's simply taken too long for Fani Willis to get this one sealed up. That call should have yielded an almost immediate arrest and would have done so for any office-holding politician that's not a POTUS. Alas, it was a POTUS and I just don't think Willis has the clout to get this one to fruition. I don't think he'll ever be charged for January 6, 2021. It's not easy to prove that he knew the election results were legit. I also think that his Secret Service driver's refusal to take him to the Capitol that day actually saved him from future prosecution. If he'd been able to show up on those steps it would have changed everything. He'd have been in cuffs a week later. Regarding all these cases, they'd better get moving. Once he's the candidate (and he WILL be the candidate) all prosecutorial bets will most likely dissipate like farts in the wind. But hey- If I was wrong about the Carroll case, I'm willing (hoping) to be wrong about anything else. Even if he's charged in all these cases, MAYBE even if he's convicted in all of them, I still say this country will never, ever, ever imprison a former POTUS. Not gonna happen. You mean those guys that wiped their work phones to protect him from Jan 6 implication? Gotcha. 🙃
