  1. I wish I was a fan of a team that made me happy when they win. The Rivera era produces very few wins that aren't awkward and stress-inducing in the late 4th quarter. I come away from the wins with relief but not satisfaction or a feeling of victory. We could have closed that game out with at least 3 minutes left but as usual, I was absolutely confident we'd make questionable play calls, take at least 1 sack, go 3 & out, and then let their offense drive deep into our territory. It's who we are. We don't step on necks. We don't close out games. I'm exhausted from being exhausted.
  2. They did pan to him repeatedly throughout the night. He was never watching the game and he was always laughing. When something bad was happening? You just asked me about "when something bad was happening?" 🙂
  3. Am I misunderstanding that? What's childish about concern? I thought he looked childish last night. Bingo. He looked pretty immature last night. Kinda like this...
  4. Fine and I'm aware but it's his team. Stand up, pay attention, and show some concern.
  5. Note to Josh: We the fans are serious about our football and we don't take kindly to our owner yucking it up and chugging a Solo cup while being blown TF out. You won't find Jerry Jones grinning like a fool during a blowout loss. Come to think of it, it's a pretty darn rare occasion that Jerry's Cowboys ever get blown out. Read the room.
  6. These things shouldn't have an effect on gameplay but honestly, the players looked lost and awkward in the black uniforms before the game last night. We got destroyed in Dallas last season while wearing them and we got destroyed last night. I can't remember other games in which we used them. Have there been any wins while in the black?
  7. Certainly could be the case but I'm just getting a little weary of putting them on a pedestal. I see better players out there who get half the respect and acclaim.
  8. No argument from me about the coaches, but I personally no longer believe we have "all that talent." 🤷‍♂️
  9. Excellent point. They make the same general salary as the Aaron Donalds of this league. That's some ridiculous logic. Kayvon Thibodeaux creates more havoc than both of them combined.
  10. Certainly a valid rebuttal, GC. I won't debate any of it. I personally see the best arm talent and the coolest head we've had in decades. We won't know where he truly ranks among the current better NFL quarterbacks until we can protect him and I'm willing to give him that time. I really like the kid. Just my take on it. He's the only player we have that shows me some genuine upside for years to come. There is better out there but they all have experience and pedigree. We have Sam.
  11. Not a thing. I've already said it a couple times this morning, but I'll repeat it... Allen and Payne are NOT worth the roses we throw at them. Solid players, sure. Slightly above average run stoppers, very average pass rushers. Young and Sweat are garbage considering their draft positions. As a collective d-line, epic fail.
  12. He's the only player on the entire squad I hope to keep. Yes, I include Terry among the expendables, albeit he's the 2nd most desired keeper. He can catch anything thrown at him but he just doesn't get open like the A-list WRs. Can't expect a QB to throw consistently to a 1st option that doesn't seem open. I love the guy but he's not living up to the hype we heap on him. Nobody else on this player roster would kill us if they left town. Not a single man.
  13. Magic's tweet was bland and noted nothing beyond the painfully obvious. Thanks for the fire and brilliant insight, Earv.
  14. And I'm with you but I'd add a note about d-line: Why does everyone throw roses at Allen and Payne? Do they really live up to their draft value? I don't see it in any consistent fashion. Slightly above average run stoppers, very average pass rushers. Overall legacy is mediocre. Forget about Young and Sweat. Ridiculous underachievers, both of them. Totally expendable. No true impact, no speed, no urgency. Consistently impotent.
  15. No offense, brother- In the NFC East with Dallas, Philly, and Daniel Jones (an awful QB who simply owns us 5-1-1) there was never a playoff chance this season. We won't win a divisional game.
  16. Gotta re-stress the painfully obvious stuff in the spirit of ridicule. 🙂
  17. Burn it down. Pour gasoline all over it and burn it all down. Our players can't recognize opportunity, our coaches can't inspire. It's culture. It won't change until we get dictators on the sideline. All my friends and social media contacts laughed at me yesterday when I called this a trap game because I claimed to KNOW WHO WE ARE. WE ARE WHO I THOUGHT WERE ARE AND WE ALWAYS LET 'EM OFF THE HOOK. This "10 wins" nonsense from fans who "just knew" we'd step up this season was ridiculous homership. WHY? Coaching and culture. I predicted 6-7 wins this season. I have no idea where we'll get 4-5 more wins now. We're not "better" than Atlanta. We're not "better" than the Giants. we found out last night that we're not "better" than a team on a 14 game losing streak with ZERO starting secondary and ONE respectable wide receiver. Watching Josh Harris yuck it up with his Solo cup in the owner's box only tells me HE DOES NOT CARE. Watching Ron Rivera's 2nd half sideline interview only tells me HE DOES NOT KNOW how to kick players in the a$$. We can't draft, we can't develop, we can't motivate, and we can't coach. FOUR first round picks (all picked within the first 20) and they're MEDIOCRE. Allen and Payne? MEDIOCRE. Young and Sweat? LAUGHABLE. Quarterbacks chuckle at our pass rush. Linebackers? LINEBACKERS??? And JDR decides to only put TWO on the field??? Give me a freaking break. You can't pass rush OR cover with only two linebackers that can't even make an impact anyway. St. Juste is mediocre. Forbes is a DISASTER. All I have to say about the offensive line is this: Ron and company ignored drafting top o-line talent FOR YEARS. FIVE YEARS. You don't reap what you don't plant- PERIOD. We are still an embarrassment. Fire Rivera today and fire Del Rio today. There's no upside to keeping either one of them for another week. We're not beating Dallas or Philly. We're not beating New York. 5-12 at best. AT BEST. Blow it up, burn it down, salt the earth TODAY. Don't let another win fool you into thinking there's hope because there are 2-3 losses right behind it.
  18. Thank you, I hadn't picked that up. I guess I'm still holding onto the old fears.
  19. We should absolutely win this game, be it by one FG or by 3 TDs. I just keep going back to last season on Thursday night where we had to win it very late with that goal line stoppage of a Bears WR. Right down to the wire. Frankly, we haven't shown consistency yet and up until last week we've been slow to get rolling in games. We only seem to offer one good half of football. I'm terrified but my prediction is 26-20, Commanders. Night game, mobile QB, Forbes covering DJ Moore, coming off an OT loss on a short week... and did I mention night game? Ugh. I'm stressed.
  20. But how did you FEEL before a Lohmiller kick? 😁
  21. All the wacky kickers we've had over the last 25 years? I've been nervous before every special teams kick since Chip Lohmiller left.
  22. December 3rd is a long way off. Both Miami and Washington could be very different teams by then.
  23. The Eagles didn't make ME sad. Not one bit. I thought we'd get slaughtered. Friends, this entire season is about ONE player. The last TRUE franchise quarterback Washington had was Mark Rypien. (For me personally, Mark Brunell was damn close but that's another discussion.) Now we are watching one develop in Sam Howell. Week in and week out, all season long, win or lose, there's only ONE important thing to take from every game. "Did Sam Howell play well?" That's it. The offseason will be about who will coach the team in the future. The offseason will be about a potential new team name. THIS TEAM NEEDS A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK NOW. That end-of-regulation drive on Sunday in Philadelphia? That was a franchise QB scoring drive. The fact that we came back with good offensive play after the Buffalo debacle and the fact that we came back to tie that game in Philly with NO TIME ON THE CLOCK are the only things I carry in my heart from Sunday. All positive.
  24. Put it behind you, my friends. They didn't even show up. The loss isn't an anomaly but the performance is. Our o-line is bad. We knew that going in. It seems to be awful for the first 3-4 games of every season but tightens up by mid-season. (Not enough to be "good" but it does tighten up.) The team isn't as bad as they looked yesterday but they're not as good as we hoped. It takes time to adjust. The teams we beat this season are bad teams and I knew we'd lose to Buffalo. Not by 34 points but hey- if you picked a win yesterday you're kidding yourself. The Bills are elite. Sam Howell's first bad game in the NFL. Every QB has plenty of bad games if they are lucky enough to have a starting career beyond a season or two. On to Philadelphia.
  25. In past years I was an easy-out when we were down big. Heck, even sometimes when we were down by only 10-14 points. I had a different vibe yesterday. I started using the phrase, "2nd half team." I'm not going to pretend that I had total faith but I just wasn't in panic mode or even nap time mode. I kept quiet and kept watching. When Jamin Davis caused that fumble I jokingly said to my father that the whole game was going to change. We laughed... but that fumble was the momentum swing I was laughing at!
