  1. Mayhew's first decision in Detroit was to fleece Dallas. "Mayhew's first move as acting General Manager was the trade of wide receiver Roy Williams and a 7th round draft choice to the Dallas Cowboys for Dallas' 1st, 3rd and 6th round draft choices in the 2009 NFL Draft."
  2. I think the Mayhew/Stafford connection is most intriguing considering that was his first draft pick ever. all of Mayhew's draft selections with Lions. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AwldQiDZ6-tLV-8VPSH4cr9ho0N3RzIVi4c3-v0AkV8/pubhtml
  3. Rivera and the Bears lost to Mayhew and the Redskins 3 straight years from '89-'91... closest connection i can find.
  4. Ah I forgot Rivera was the DC for the Chargers WHILE Kyle's dad was still the GM... and it looks like A.J. groomed Ron to be a head coach and now Ron is helping groom A.J.'s son Kyle to the GM.
  5. Funny that Kyle's dad A.J. Smith ended his career with the Redskins in 2015 as a consultant (and came to Washington 2 years after Kyle had already started as a scout in 2011) and Marty started his NFL career in 1988 with the Redskins as a PR person. And during the decades in between both A.J. and Marty both served as either GM or assistant GM with the Chargers (though it seems as though they never worked together in SD). I'll bet that A.J. and Marty are close friends and that Marty has a great relationship with Kyle and this is all about grooming Kyle which probably started when A.J. came as a consultant in 2013.
  6. Had no idea JKC gave him his NFL start "A journalist by trade, he first began in football for the Washington Redskins' public relations department when owner Jack Kent Cooke asked him to join the team.[3] He then served in the front office of the San Diego Chargers as assistant general manager to Bobby Beathard."
  7. Imagine if we tanked trying to get the 9th or 10th pick in the draft to try and get a guy like Zack Wilson... we would have missed out on TH and this awesome playoff performance. Maybe Zack will be better than TH, maybe not. But is there a lot of difference between them? Both same exact weight... and Zack is just 2" taller. I'm so glad we won the division and got to witness something with potential to be great.
  8. Android users... Download FakeGPS app (then have set default Mock GPS app in Developer Settings... pretty easy)... then download the free Locast app. Set your FakeGPS location for DC area (or anywhere you want in the country to watch any game where Locast app is supported)... Then launch Locast... You'll then get all local channels from where you set your location. I used to do all this with YouTubeTV, but that has not worked recently... but It does work with Locast and I can see just about any game in the country live from here in North Carolina. Then if you have a Chromecast device on your TV you can cast the game from your phone to the TV. This set up has worked flawless for me. Locast does interrupt the broadcast with some ads about every 10-15 min... but you can have those removed for $5/mo...
  9. this is probably just dumb, but regarding the name change I want to live in a world where i still get to see Redskins when I read the news about the WFT. So, I added a chrome plugin that changes any reference to "Football Team" to "Redskins". This will let me live somewhat in my alternative reality for a while longer. Sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread.
  10. I have not been paying tremendously close attention, but what's JDR doing to get the most out of CY? How often are they stunting CY? Do they send a safety/corner blitz from the same side CY is on? Are they just asking him (when rushing the QB) to just win his 1on1, 1on2 and 1on3 matchups?
  11. also, Kittle looks like he may be done for the season. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/11/02/george-kittle-may-be-out-for-season-with-foot-injury/ there's likely only 2 guaranteed losses the rest of the season for us... Pitt and Seattle.
  12. a WANT is completely different than the ABILITY TO run the football.
  13. he's been championing women in football for a while and for several years he's spoken at Women's Careers in Football... he's legitimately interested in seeing women succeed... if he can't help get the culture fixed, no one can... and yea i think Rivera was instrumental in getting Donaldson.
  14. I posted a while ago here that we should rename the team the DC Daggers in honor of Steve.
