  1. Which side of the field were you on? My family used to have seats behind the visiting bench and it was always super crowded (plus there would be a ton of visiting fans). My brother gave them up in 2018 after taking some major losses in 2017 when he could not go to several games. I think there were three games where he got $100 for 2 $143 tickets and a $50 green parking pass.
  2. >> Does UMD have that kind of money to throw away? Did they ever reinstate all those sports that were dropped a few years ago? The naming rights are not available for sale for a couple more years, right?
  3. As a STH, I am hoping they do not flood the market with cheap seats like they have done before. It was nice to be able to sell unwanted tickets at a small hit rather than fire sale prices. That is one of the reasons I kept my tickets this year.
  4. Yes, I saw that as well, but I did not notice if the upgrade included a price change or not...….I am currently in the red zone lot.
  5. Suspected Burglar Crushed to death by 900 lbs safe: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/suspected-burglar-crushed-to-death-by-900-pound-safe-police/ar-BBUNwNO?ocid=spartanntp
  6. >> ...and teach them to me more careful....(IE what to do in order not to get caught rather than not commit the crime in the first place).
  7. Yes, the good old days before Dan and Bruce came to power.
  8. Thanks...I renewed earlier today and got the 6 payment plan.
  9. Info on the Redskins Gold Program: Wash. Post article from March 8: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/03/08/redskins-season-ticket-members-will-have-dedicated-entrances-fedex-field-this-season/?utm_term=.bd2e16c52cc5 I would still like to see a self serve line for the bottomless sodas, especially with a Pepsi Spire (AKA Freestyle) machine. I could see the Pepsi Spire being a perk on the Club Level or at least giving it a "try out" there. I think one of the early deadlines in approaching...March 15? BTW, if you want to do the Pay as We Play option for Playoff(?!)/Paloff tickets, the card must have an expiration date of 2/20 or later.
  10. Celebrity <> Rocket Scientist (with a few exceptions such as Miam Bialik and Danica McKellar) I am amazed that these kids have access to the best schools, teachers, materials, facilities, tutors, etc, and still can not hack it. What the hell are these celebrity kids are doing or better yet, NOT doing? My nephew went to a private school in Richmond (his dad works there) and he earned enough AP credits to finish almost a year early at VA Tech.
  11. Night games as well as games that are played the same weekend as UVA home games as my brother and I both have UVA tickets and Redskins tickets. I'm getting too old to go to two games in one weekend and that also does not sit well with the wife. With that said, if I knew I was going to go to no more than 4 regular season games, I would probably not renew.
  12. You are correct about Harper. There seemed to be intent/ a plan to keep him in the minors until after his Super 2 date (early June?), but injuries forced them to call him up early and his play kept him in the majors....not sure if Robles is Super 2 arbitration eligible or not.
  13. I got my booklet as well on Saturday...it looks like the are a fair number of "perks" in the gold program...special lines to enter the stadium, four special events for STH, prizes, etc. I had four tickets last year. One for me, one for my brother, and two for a friend of mine. The friend wants 1, maybe both of his again, so I will probably renew mine as well, but I could really have gone either way. My brother will probably renew as well. I wish the schedule would come out before we have to renew. The colleges already have their 2019 schedules out.
  14. ...wait 'til they find out he is a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
  15. You mean, "Fool's Gold". Typically at least one of three things go up every year: Tickets, Parking, or Beer.
  16. Heck, one year you had to renew the week after the SuperBowl and before the ProBowl. I forget the year, but it was when the ProBowl was played after the SB.

  18. Burger King is giving away Whoppers for 1 cent — but you have to go to McDonald's to get them Burger King has a new deal that requires customers to go to McDonald's. On Tuesday, the fast-food chain announced that it was "turning more than 14,000 McDonald's into Burger King restaurants." In fact, Burger King is debuting a McDonald's-themed deal. If customers go within 600 feet of a McDonald's location, they can order a Whopper for one cent via the revamped Burger King app. The deal starts Tuesday and runs through December 12. https://www.businessinsider.com/burger-king-debuts-mcdonalds-whopper-deal-2018-12
  19. Another blown call...not that it mattered, but it's nice to keep a log of these for future reference. Referees miss clear false start on Eagles touchdown http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/referees-miss-clear-false-start-on-eagles-touchdown/ar-BBQsbYN?ocid=iehp
  20. Shenzhen Half Marathon: Traffic cameras catch cheats taking shortcut The annual half marathon in Shenzhen attracts about 16,000 runners – there is no suggestion that any of the runners pictured was involved in cheating Almost 250 runners in a half marathon were caught cheating when traffic cameras captured them taking shortcuts through bushes. Organisers of the race in Shenzhen, China, also discovered 18 runners wearing fake bibs and three runners they described as “imposters”. All who cheated are now facing bans. https://informationbuzzer.com/2018/11/29/shenzhen-half-marathon-traffic-cameras-catch-cheats-taking-shortcut/

  22. https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/half-naked-woman-crashes-through-restaurant-ceiling-in-tennessee-twice Half-naked woman crashes through restaurant ceiling in Tennessee – twice Maybe she just thought they were running low on buns.A half-naked 26-year-old woman fell through the ceiling of a Tennessee burger-and-barbecue joint earlier this week – not once, but twice – before being apprehended by police in the dining room. Harley C. Morton was arrested on Tuesday night after an employee working at Cook Out, a burger-and-barbecue joint in Kingsport, called police around 10 p.m. to report seeing a woman busting through the ceiling tile. The woman was able to pull herself up and retreat back into the ceiling, according to a police report obtained by The Kingsport Times-News.
  23. Dozens of firefighters respond after man uses blowtorch to kill spiders, reports say A man attempting to kill venomous spiders with a blowtorch likely caused a California house fire on Tuesday night, according to local media reports. The man, 23, used a blow torch on the exterior brick of his parents' Fresno home in an attempt to kill black widow spiders, the Los Angeles Times reports. The man's parents were not home when the incident occurred, the paper says. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/dozens-of-firefighters-respond-after-man-uses-blowtorch-to-kill-spiders-reports-say/ar-BBORhdr?li=BBnbcA1&ocid=iehp
  24. Not exactly -- hate to kill the fun, but..... The final form of the Western tradition recounts that Saint Veronica from Jerusalem encountered Jesus along the Via Dolorosa on the way to Calvary. When she paused to wipe the blood and sweat (Latin sudor) off his face with her veil, his image was imprinted on the cloth. The event is commemorated by the Sixth Station of the Cross. According to some versions, St. Veronica later traveled to Rome to present the cloth to the Roman Emperor Tiberius, and the veil, possessing the Grace of God, was able to quench thirst, cure blindness, and even raise the dead.
