  2. Swindler Posing as Prince Made One Dumb Move 'Miami Herald': He posed as Saudi royalty, raised suspicions by eating bacon and pork (Newser) – The Miami Herald has an interesting tale of an international swindler now locked up and awaiting sentencing for posing as Saudi royalty. The craziest part of the story is that Anthony Gignac, who was born in Colombia, might still be free if he hadn't made his intended target suspicious with his choice of meals. "Gignac happily wolfed down bacon and pork products during meals, which as a devout Muslim prince should have been against his religion, according to a source with knowledge of the case," writes Jay Weaver. The story recounts how Gignac tried to fleece Florida real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer http://www.newser.com/story/261689/swindler-posing-as-prince-made-one-dumb-move.html?utm_source=part&utm_medium=uol&utm_campaign=rss_world_img_b
  3. Three Rhino Poachers Eaten By Lions in South Africa A pride of lions ate a group of poachers after they broke into a game reserve earlier this week in South Africa to hunt rhinoceroses. Three men were believed to have been eaten alive by the predators sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning after they entered the Sibuya Game Reserve in Kenton-on-Sea to hunt rhinos, Nick Fox, the park’s owner, told Newsweek. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/three-rhino-poachers-eaten-by-lions-in-south-africa/ar-AAzCxRl?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=iehp
  4. Yep, we had a lower level at RFK and had to stand all the time as the first row went was at ground level. At the first game at FedEx, I marveled at how we did not have to stand much....then Snyder and the dream seats came in and it was back to standing all the time. My brother gave up our seats this year in sect 124.
  5. 79K after the reductions in 2012, but take out the obstructed views and who knows what it will be. https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/post/redskins-to-remove-another-4000-seats-from-fedex-field/2012/04/02/gIQAc88brS_blog.html?utm_term=.da86b1774847 The Redskins in 2010 said FedEx had a capacity of more than 91,000, but that was lowered to around 83,000 last season after the team removed seats from the end zone areas of both upper decks. With the latest renovations, the stadium’s capacity will be 79,000, according to Samuel Wynkoop, the director of Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources. “They will wind up with 79,000 seats, which is way down from their peak,” he said. “This is actually a net reduction, but it should be a better fan experience.” The total capacity may exceed 79,000 when the tickets sold for the party decks are accounted for, and it’s expected that the Redskins will offer between 4,000 and 5,000 standing-room tickets per game, according to one person with knowledge of the Redskins plans who spoke on condition of anonymity.
  6. ...could be the end of the so-called sell out streak.........
  7. ...or Nats playoff tickets....(400 level NLDS tickets were $64 and NLCS tickets were $139 last year).......
  8. ..maybe somehow merge this with emancipation day......1978 broke a title drought from 1942 and 2018 broke a tile drought from 1991....oddly enough both of those were Redskins titles.

  10. Crocodile eats beloved terrier that spent a decade taunting it A crocodile in Australia has eaten a small dog that had taunted it for a decade and was famous for chasing the eleven-foot reptile into the water. To the horror of guests at a riverside lodge who had gathered to watch the spectacle, the sal****er crocodile did not scurry towards the water as the dog ran at its head. video at the link: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/06/06/crocodile-eats-beloved-terrier-spent-decade-taunting/
  11. Given that the Bullets and Caps both secured championship on June 7 (40 years apart), I propose that June 7th be designated as Champions Day in DC and everybody gets the day off.
  12. Man Makes 'Classic Mistake' After Decapitating Snake The severed head almost killed him A Texas man who used a shovel to decapitate a rattlesnake he found in his backyard failed to realize that a severed snake head can be just as dangerous as one that has a body attached. When the man picked up the head to dispose of it, it attacked, sinking all its venom into him in a bite that was almost fatal, the BBC reports. http://www.newser.com/story/comments/260293/decapitated-rattlesnake-almost-kills-texas-man.html
  13. ...got a letter in the mail yesterday stating that "That there are a limited number of lower level seats available for you to relocate, upgrade, or add on to your account". I have been a STH since 1999.
  14. GM VP Mark Reuss crashes Chevy Corvette ZR1 pace car ahead of Indy race A 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1 pace car crash led to a 27-minute delay of the 2018 Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle. General Motors executive vice president of global product development Mark Reuss was behind the wheel. Both the driver and passenger Mark Sand, an IndyCar official, were unharmed and exited the vehicle after the incident. "We are thankful that there were no serious injuries. Both the pace car driver and the series official were taken to the infield care center, where they were checked, cleared and released," according to a statement from General Motors. "It is unfortunate that this incident happened. Many factors contributed, including weather and track conditions. The car's safety systems performed as expected." Will Power, winner of this year's Indy 500, said after the race, "I felt really bad for whoever was in the pace car. It's very easy to do, and the traction control must have been turned off. Wasn't really his fault." A backup pace car was brought out, driven by IndyCar veteran Oriol Servià. Ryan Hunter-Reay went on to win the race. Gee, I wonder what his BAC was?
  15. Row 16 on the aisle next to section 123. The seats are next to a bunch of folks we have known for a long time. We offered the pair to one of them, but they did not want an entire season. These seats are/were in my brothers name. He said the TO had been calling him since the deadline about renewing them.
  16. If they get rid of the Obstructed view seats, you should be OK, except for the large presence of fans from the other team. We brother dumped his pair in section 124.
  17. Once again, South Park predicted the future: In the episode, Eric Cartman decides to found a company so he can do nothing for the rest of his life. He realizes the trademark "Washington Redskins" has recently become available, and he uses the brand name to create a successful campaign on Kickstarter. "Washington Redskins" becomes infamous for its tagline, "F*ck You," and for being a startup that raised money for promising to do absolutely nothing in return.
  18. I got a NAUI (Sport diver) cert back in 1986 during my last semester of college. It was something I always wanted to do. BTW, this was back in the day before BCDs were hooked up to the tanks. I did one dive on a WWII wreck off the NC coast near Wilmington NC that summer and have not gone back out since. My wife started a program to get certified, but she dropped out halfway through. We did some snorkeling in Jamaica and Kaui. I also did some snorkeling in Puerto Rico.
  19. ...good riddance...those were nothing but a big money grab by Snyder and it put too many people on that side of the field. The lines for the concessions and bathrooms on that part of the stadium were horrible. I am surprised the PG county fire officials even allowed this at all.
  20. Which Wednesday? I have had tickets since 1999 and my day is May 18 at 2 PM. Probably going to stay put where I am in the upper deck as moving even one row closer, will make my tickets go up, but I will give it a look see just in case.
  21. Man mauled to death while trying to take selfie with a bear NEW DELHI -- A man trying to take a selfie with an injured bear was mauled to death in India on Wednesday, the latest in a string of selfie-related fatalities in the country. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/man-mauled-to-death-while-trying-to-take-selfie-with-a-bear/ar-AAwTRBV?li=BBnbcA1 and this.... The Hindustan Times also reported the bystanders "were busy shooting the incident on their mobile phones instead of trying to rescue him." The newspaper quotes forest official Dhanurjaya Mohapatra as saying "Bhatara died on the spot."
  22. I thought I read somewhere that Solar Panels are like Satellite dishes in that HOAs have little power if the installer says its gotta go in this spot for the best performance.
  23. ..and of course, there was a Starbucks in the background.....
  24. Hoth smells like dead Tauntauns.... (could be the outside or the inside...)
  25. I think the final straw for my brother was last season when he sold his pair of tickets and green parking passes for the last 3 home games (Giants @ Thanksgiving, Cardinals Dec 17, and Broncos Dec 24). I think he got roughly $100 a game for what cost him $330 a game. That's pretty harsh.
