I am enjoying these spirited debates by the way with everyone. I came in hot but it’s been fun discussions and exciting knowing we have a franchise QB in the pipeline.

I’d take Nix or Penix over JJ. I could see Nix having a Purdy like career if he goes to the right team. Not asked to do too much but makes the right reads, etc. Supreme game manager.

Anything more than a 3rd for Fields is lunacy.

JJ will be riding the bench while Caleb, Jayden, and Maye are running out on the field as starters day 1. He is not the most pro ready. He played with a dominant oline and handed the ball off a ton. Good arm but a real lack of touch. He just rifles every ball. Has a lot to work on there.

Lamar has put on about 5 lbs since his college days. I’d imagine Jayden does the same.

Caleb seems like a headcase somewhere between Johnny Manziel and Cam Newton. He will be in the conversation with Jamarcus and Bryce Young as the biggest QB busts of all time.

Huh? It’s well known you really stop growing around 20. It’s science. If JJ can put on some lbs, so can Jayden. Can’t just change the rules for JJ’s small frame. Also, Jayden being closer to Jj than Caleb and Maye? What? Jayden is in a different stratosphere from JJ. Jayden is a day 1 starter in the NFL whereas JJ likely won’t see the field for 1-2 seasons. we all have our opinions though, to each their own. JJ is Daniel Jones 2.0, the similarities are all right there. Also when is the last time a game manager in college ever became elite in the NFL? It doesn’t happen.

Also JJ is slighter of frame than Daniels, but feel like that isn’t brought up at all.

Just don’t see it with McCarthy. He is Daniel Jones 2.0. A game manager, nothing less nothing more. I pity whatever team trades up and drafts him. I’d take Penix or Nix over JJ.

Caleb declining medicals is a red flag. Yikes.

This is wild I like Maye a lot but he isn’t even the most athletic QB in his draft class. Caleb is.

They really had no choice after Ted made them look like clowns and called their bluff. And Ted sucks too, but DC politicians played with fire and got burned.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm probably the biggest Daniels fan on this site, but I'll be happy with Maye as well. I truly believe they are the best QBs in this draft.

Jayden was higher ranked coming out of HS than Burrow. He was the number 1 dual threat QB in that class. The potential has always been there. Yeah Jayden had an amazing 2023 season but people sleep on his freshman season where he did a phenomenal job as well. Then they got hit with the COVID season and the following season ASU was probably the most toxic locker room in the country with Herm and everything going on in that program. 22 he came into a new system, learned the ropes while showing flashes and eventually learned to trust his receivers which is what was so frustrating in 22. 60% percent completion percentage with just under 3k yards , 17 TD's and just 2 Interceptions as a true freshman. I think this is 100% spot on.

What are your concerns about Jayden? The couple of hard hits that he took against Ole Miss and FSU that continue to be re-posted in this thread? Slight of frame and inability to protect himself, sure. What else are your concerns about him? I’d seriously like to know. Is it his above average arm strength because he can’t rifle in a ball like Patrick Ramsey or Jason Campbell? and stats are a reach? That’s a new one. What are sports without stats?

Myself and a couple of others have responded with stats and videos in this thread. Do some research before making baseless claims. Is that a mod bullying a poster? belonging to or associated with the people or things previously mentioned or easily identified And Lamar was outside the top 10 in passing yards and passing tds also if you want to use one year wonder on Jayden, aren’t you a little concerned that Maye and Caleb regressed this season? They’re trending down while Jayden is trending up. Jayden also played much better competition, sort of like that Joe Burrow guy.

It absolutely is a great comparison. Lamar is a better natural runner while Jayden is a better natural passer, at least going off of their college careers. That’s why Jayden’s potential is so great. And again I’m happy with Maye or Daniels. Just say no to Caleb Williams.

I’m not saying he is the greatest and can walk on water, I just think his ceiling is through the roof. I just have my opinion and try to back it up with stats and videos. Is there a chance he is a bust? Absolutely. There’s a myriad of reasons that could be the case, but all the things are there for him to be a franchise QB and successful in the league.

Honestly it’s an insult to Jayden to compare him to RG3. Lamar is the better comparison and something I’ve been saying in this thread. Jayden is a leader of men and his work ethic far surpasses anything RG3 brought to the table. Jayden is not a diva and is going to be a coaches dream. He just needs to stay healthy and avoid injury.
