He used to not be complete garbage on that end of the court which is the most frustrating part. It feels like he's made it his sole mission to score enough points to make Clay Bennett and Sam Presti have a sad at the expense of everything else.

Irving had a down year? Compared to what? It was almost exactly the same as year two except regression in his 3pt shooting and that he wasn't as injured.

Weak, I'd say embarrassing. Relying on a split series where it's still obvious who the better playmaker it is. Again. Brevin Goddamn Knight could even average 9 assists on the Bobcats. Kyrie has no excuse with the court vision he was purported to have coming out. Destino summed it up best. He's gonna have a monster year a scoring guard, but at that point he will be a PG in lineup listings only.

Yes, since the Wizards would be struggling for an 8th seed because Kyrie is an average passer and poor defender who doesn't make his teammates better. Kyrie isn't a gifted passer.

Good passers still put up good assist numbers when garbage is around them. Even when they aren't good all-around players themselves. See: Kendall Marshall on the Lakers and Brevin Knight on the Charlotte Bobcats
