And what had Hurts done that could even make that anything but a fantasy? Hurts had only one decent drive and outside of that could not run or throw an accurate ball to save his life. He blew a gimme. Pederdson's only chance was to win. He replaced Hurts who had shown he could not lead the team that night to a win with a guy who had not shown he couldn't.

Yep, that is what I can't understand about that narrative, Philly not only put up just 14 in 3q, 7 of those came with our help. Beyond the one legit TD drive which was due to Hurts legs, Hurts completed less than 20% of his passes and was getting about 2 yards or less every time he ran. When he was taken out, Hurts had just failed to take advantage of a gimme situation. Hurts longest pass was a 30 yarder, obviously Pederson was afraid to have Hurts throw deeper. When Sudfeld came in, the Eagles did start throwing downfield.

https://sports.yahoo.com/chris-simms-2021-draft-qb-165042397.html Chris Simms’ 2021 Draft QB Rankings: Zach Wilson (BYU) Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) Mac Jones (Alabama) Kellen Mond (Texas A&M) Justin Fields (Ohio State) Trey Lance (North Dakota St) POed many NFL people, especially since they hope Mond would stay under the radar.

I'm pretty much of the opinion that not adding a QB at all would be better than Darnold if you are looking plug n' play. Even as a project every successful reclaim project at QB started with a QB who had performed well at a pro-level (though maybe in the USFL or CFL) at some point. Unless you hit the lottery, it looks like you need to take advantage of every possibility to replace your rookie deal QB.

I would wonder why they wouldn't. Any QBs who we sign or trade for will get a real shot at starting at the very least and several would likely have the job all but handed to them (the starting job would be his to lose). You have a great defense, a potentially good running game and dump receivers (Gibson and McKissic) who have shown they can turn a checkdown into a big play. We had a guy who was operating on one leg who went 5-1, a guy who we got for a 5 who showed well (only reason he had losses were on him) and a street FA signed at the end of the season who did very well. So the offense system is probably QB friendly. A solid defense means you are probably not going to enter many Q4s in a no-win situation or worry that everytime you lead the team to a score the other guys make that score up. There is a really good chance that you may go from JAG QB to Tannehill status, at least. Any decent one would probably believe he could pull a Brady at Tampa. Huge issues at QB were a starting QB (Haskins) who probably should not have been drafted when he was, a new regime (you are probably their handpicked guy, now), a pandemic that at best prevented us from making sure that Haskins was working on the right things (hard work is useless if you are not focusing on the right things) and could have given the leadership pause about the real ethic that Haskins was actually showing. If you don't think Ron's cancer issues had a negative effect on our potential, you are sadly mistaken.

Heinicke Hive: The LEGEND of Taylor Heinicke Thread

Any QB's injury history would worry me in this case though I guess he could be cloned. If I recall though cloned players for the WFT cost 10x on the cap (Mara Rule 2.0), though. -

It is March. Even if we draft a QB, trade for one or sign a top-tier FA at QB, why is anyone talking about cutting a QB? In training camp, we want the best four so we would not cut one till late August . If we don't make any move at QB, we probably keep both. -
Whether we mismanaged RG3, Campbell or not is irrelevant as those guys were QBs in different regimes, IF one believes RON RIVERA and the current regime mismanaged Haskins is relevant going forward. The only argument against stevemcqueen1's position is that the failure was not mismanagement, not the assertion that the failure itself is irrelevant.
