Kiper saying that he didn't show any NFL potential while at Ohio State. Said he seemed to put it all together at Notre Dame and if he can build on that, Commanders may have something.

AVONTAE JEAN-BAPTISTE
EDGE NOTRE DAME
HEIGHT. 6’ 5’’
WEIGHT 239 lbs
ARM 33 3/4’’
HAND 10’’
Prospect Grade 5.93
Average Backup Or Special-Teamer
QuoteOverview
After a five-year run at Ohio State with modest production, Jean-Baptiste’s Notre Dame tape has put him in position to become a developmental Day 3 draft pick. He has good length but lacks play strength to stack and discard tackles. He’ll need to hit the weights to improve his anchor, but he has the footwork and agility to slide off of block sustain and make tackles. He’s a step slow off the snap, dulling his ability to outrace tackles to the edge, but he flashes the hands and hips to become a more impactful rusher if teams rewire his rush plan. There is still a level of upside available for Jean-Baptiste.
Strengths
Possesses desired length of an NFL edge defender.
Slips off of blocks to find runners.
Good back-side burst and is always working toward the ball-carrier.
Slips around tackles with loose hips and shoulders at the top of the rush.
Footwork and body control create fluid rush transitions.
Flashes athleticism and hand usage to take a step forward as a rusher.

Traits Or Talent To Be Above-Average Backup
QuoteOverview
Average game film has to be weighed against his traits and the potential of what he could do with pro coaching. Hampton is big, fast and long, and defensive coordinators can work with that. He's more comfortable operating as a read-and-react high safety than in man coverage. He's willing in run support, but erratic angles to the tackle and below-average body control can lead to poor positioning and excessive arm tackles. Hampton's traits and potential could sway a team to take him on Day 3 and develop him into an average backup with core special teams value.
Strengths
Impressive physical attributes, including a 6-foot-7 wingspan.
Uses balanced field vision for concise reads as split safety.
Long strider with above-average play speed for his size.
Long arms create a high win rate on contested catches.
Has put some fearsome strikes on pass catchers.
Wide-flowing tackle net when locked in with tackle positioning.

Jordan Magee
LB Temple
HEIGHT 6’ 1’’
WEIGHT 228 lbs
ARM 32’’
HAND 8 3/4’’
QuoteOverview
There are occasions when it can be tough to discern between Magee's instincts and his willingness to take aggressive tracks downhill at the first sight of an opening. He will void run-fit responsibilities at times but will also make more plays near the line of scrimmage. Magee lacks ideal size but plays with good strength and aggression and is able to bounce off bigger bodies to find his way to tackle tries from challenging angles. He has a good early trigger, but his sideline-to-sideline range is average. Magee needs to prove he can make plays with better discipline in order to become more than a solid backup with special teams value.
Strengths
Play demeanor is active and consistently aggressive.
Praised for high football character and on-field intelligence.
Has strong base for his size and is capable of taking on blocks.
Steps downhill into gaps and constricts space for runners.
Pinballs around interior while keeping eyes peeled for tackle tries.

Athletic F tight end with an ability to add value in the passing game and handle some blocking duties in space. The former walk-on has added 40 pounds to his frame without losing his speed or agility. He’s an adequate route runner with the quickness to compete against man coverage on all three levels and get additional yards after the catch. He lacks NFL physicality to hold up on blocking duties near the line, and he needs to prove he can play with quicker, stronger hands as a pass catcher. Sinnott is a Day 3 talent but his NFL journey could be determined by whether he can get just a little bit better in all phases.
Strengths
Speed and agility to run routes on all three levels.
Gets quickly into routes and maneuvers around redirection.
Adequate contested-catch toughness with steady hands.
Can move the chains with his run-after-catch ability.
Quick to adjust his target point against moving targets.
Light on his feet with feel for angles as positional blocker.

Reliable and tough with the athleticism and upside to keep getting better as a nickel corner. Sainristil is a former receiver who plays with surprising field awareness and attention to detail as a zone defender. He has the twitch and footwork to stay connected with routes in man coverage but needs more experience at the position to operate with better recognition and feel for the routes. He showed off top-notch ball skills with six interceptions (two for scores) in 2023 and has no problem stepping up and doing his part as a run defender. Sainristil isn't there yet but should keep improving and has a chance to become a starting nickel in time.
Strengths
Explosive athletic traits with above-average football demeanor.
Quick to digest and respond to play design from zone.
Twitchy takeoff from flat-foot coverage in off-man.
Former wideout who can turn back the clock and take it away.
Comes off the slot with well-timed blitzes.
Will lose some due to size but is a plus in run support.

Active interior defender with the potential to build on his disruptive production in college. Newton’s size and length don’t stand out, but he has shown a consistent ability to gain extension and set edges against bigger opponents. Newton is clever in setting up blockers and then beating them with sudden hand usage and foot quickness as both a run defender and a pass rusher. He’s strong enough to hold the point, but he’s not going to overwhelm NFL guards with force or power. His skill level and athleticism should create additional playmaking opportunities for him as a three-down 3-technique with early starting potential.
Strengths
Compact and muscular with plenty of upper-body power.
Loose-limbed and athletic with ability to run the field like a big defensive end.
Able to press and set firm edges using either hand for either gap.
Agility and suddenness unlock slide-and-slap move to beat guards quickly.
Tape shows a player capable of rushing with purpose and a plan.
Outstanding instincts and timing for beating blocker’s edge.
Foot quickness creates mismatches for plodding pass protectors.
Edge to edge attacking mindset creates secondary pressures and sacks.

With five seasons of starting experience under his belt, Daniels possesses a rare blend of playmaking talent and command from the pocket. He’s tall but slender, so there will be concerns about durability, considering how often he ran in college. However, teams must also recognize that he has no issues sitting in the pocket and working through progressions as a platform thrower with good mechanics and footwork. Daniels possesses the football intelligence to get himself protected and take care of the football with quality decision-making. He’s an accurate passer over the first two levels and throws with anticipation to slice and dice zone coverages. He had noticeable issues putting deep throws on faster receivers in stride, though. He lacks ideal size and arm talent, but he’s much more capable as a runner and passer than most of the quarterbacks who have moved on to the next level lately. Daniels is positioned to become a very good NFL starter in a spread-based passing attack.
Strengths
Game is marked by command of the field and football intelligence.
Recognizes pre-snap pressure and has a plan to counter it.
Gets everyone on the same page when setting up protection.
Full-field reader with good rhythm through his progressions.
Willing to plant his flag and attack defenses from the pocket.
Maintains passing platform when sliding around the pocket.
Has made footwork as a passer a priority during his career.
Anticipatory thrower with accuracy and feel for attacking zone windows.
Has the running talent to turn scrambles into back-breaking plays.
Has the speed to keep defenses honest with zone-read concepts.

Round 3 (67)
Brandon Coleman
G TCU
HEIGHT 6’ 4 1/2’’
WEIGHT 313 lbs
ARM 34 5/8’’
HAND 10 3/4’’
QuoteOverview
Three-year starter and team captain in 2023 with outstanding length and the potential to offer roster flexibility. Coleman will be scouted and drafted as a guard but might be able to handle a move to tackle in an emergency. He's broad and fits up blocks with pretty good accuracy when his hands are right, but he's never going to be a lane clearer in the run game. Coleman's experience at tackle helps his chances of protecting NFL quarterbacks as a guard. He pass protects with efficient hands and sound technique, but his reactive athleticism is very average, which could be trouble against sub-package rushers.
Strengths
Broad frame with A+ wingspan and tackle/guard experience.
Patient with double-team timing and runs feet through contact with a wide base.
Holds secure block for as long as possible before climbing up to linebacker.
Throws a direct pass punch and reworks hands to stay on top of rusher.
Does a nice job of trusting feet to slide and clobber gap-shooters.

3-Cone Drill 6.7

QuoteOverview
Big slot target who comes from high-end NFL bloodlines and who showed noticeable improvement in his second season at the position. Luke lacks the size of his father, former Pro Bowl receiver Ed McCaffrey, and the explosiveness of his brother, Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey, but he catches with soft hands, great focus and extreme toughness. McCaffrey struggles to release and bypass press coverage and might not have enough separation quickness or top-end speed to uncover against NFL defenders. However, with additional time to learn the position and fine-tune his route running, McCaffrey might be able to follow his dad and brother into the league as a possession slot receiver.
Strengths
The former QB took a big step forward in his second season at receiver.
Accelerates into top speed fairly quickly.
Fearless into the teeth of the defense and excels at combat catches.
Route running improved over the second half of 2023.
Made jaw-dropping one-handed catches with coverage draped over him.
Focus drops do not exist in his dojo.

Monster storm really kicking in to gear out here in the West. Southerly winds ahead of the storm were roaring yesterday. Had a gust of 30 yesterday with sustained around 18-20 at the house. Palisades resort had a wind gust of 145 mph last night. Just had a gust now,(as the jet stream comes through),at 33. Broke a tree limb in the neighbors yard and tossed in to my yard. Sigh.
Then there's this going on right now up in the hills.
