Fifty Gut
Alexander, 29, will sign a three-year, $4.2 million contract that includes bonuses of $1 million.Last season, Alexander registered 41 catches for 377 yards and one touchdown with the Detroit Lions. It marked the first time since 2000 that Alexander appeared in all 16 games, and his 15 starts were the most since that season, as well. Why in the hell would anyone want this fool? ntotoro
Even better question... why would anyone give him $1m up-front... ?

Mr. S
he had a good season with us, but as bubba said, he cant stay healthy. 377 yards in Detroits weak offense isnt bad.
Henry
He's serviceable. That contract looks about right for a player of his calibre.
thinker
He came into the league with such promise - pretty much unrealized. I guess one can congratulate him for his persistence and hope he can stay healthy.

kong239
good let Denver spend money on players- less for them to offer Brown.
VAsBeachBoy
Don't any of you see a lot of this guy in Heath Miller, I just don't know about him... Maybe I'm crazy and he'll be good, but I smell a flop who can't even block.
bulldog
Alexander misses games due to injury and drops the ball in critical situations. He has been a way overrated player during his NFL career. 31 catches for a 10 yard average? Nothing special.
NYCskins
Funny take on this: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=fanball-broncosalexanderinex&prov=fanball&type=lgns Broncos: Alexander inexplicably signs with Denver by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Wednesday, March 23, 2005 News Oft-injured tight end Stephen Alexander has conned his third consecutive team into opening up the wallet, landing a three-year, $4.2 million contract with the Broncos. Views This is surprising on several levels. First, the Broncos already have Jeb Putzier, whom they inked to a five-year, $12.5 million deal after Putzier had signed a similar offer sheet with the Jets. Second, Alexander gets hurt more frequently than a pre-teen girl's feelings. Then again, Denver's signature play is the Jake Plummer rollout and dump-off to the tight end. Perhaps the Broncos are reconsidering the Jets' trade offer for Putzier.
