NavyDave
And the music while the pallbearers remove the casket is very moving I'm so glad I had the VCRs set to record and my neighbor is recording President Reagan's Farewell on DVD.

Cskin
....but v fox of mexico and chirac doesn't? I think we're getting a better understanding who our ture allies are. Chirac the socialist and self-proclaimed "Anti-America" of Europe, and Fox furthering the agenda to morph the United States into "Mexico North". Another case of a young buck not being able to keep up.
Johnny Punani2
Maggie Thatcher is the female verson of Winston Churchill.... Canadian PM Mulroney did an excellent job. Bush II speech while good was too long. I lost it when Bush I choked up.
Dan T.
A beautiful setting in Simi Valley for the burial. Poor Nancy seems to be holding up well, but she must be exhausted from all the events and travel.

It look like Hilary was dozing off there too.
semiskin
Originally posted by NavyDave I was told PM of Canada didnt show up but Germany was there NavyDave here is a list of the dignitaries that were in attendance to pay their respects and it says that Canadian PM Paul Martin was in attendance. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,122419,00.html In terms of the service, Margaret Thatcher got to me too. I thought Brian Mulrooney did a wonderful job as well. But nothing quite got me like a piece that one of the morning shows did with Ray Charles' rendition of America the Beautiful with pictures of President Reagan's life playing through out the piece. That was pretty emotional for me, because of the respect and admiration I have for those two gentleman. Tough week, tough week.
@DCGoldPants
I thought Mulrooney and Thatcher had the most beautifully written and presented eulogies today. Today belonged to President Reagan but, if it were possible to steal the show........those two would of been the people to do it. That was awesome. I hope this happens everytime a former President is laid to rest. (Not hoping for deaths of course)
CTaylor42
I loved the story George sr. told about, when President Reagan was in the hospital. He had made a spill on the floor, and he was on his hands and knees cleaning it up. He said he didn't wan't the nurse to get into trouble.
