Thiebear
Heard a couple of Days ago the Orioles owner saying its a bad idea for both teams to be so close (D.C.) Then I heard the Commisioner say he had some Concerns (I.E. buckling again)... Then the Dulles corridor jumped to the top of the tongues again. And I have heard that it might actually become a reality? Anyone have a better pulse on this. In 17 months my company is moving from Tysons Corner to the Dulles corridor... I am seriously hoping its true... I can see quite a few 1/2 days to catch day baseball... ahhhh, the fantasies.... working from 5am to 1pm and then for the 3pm game.... ohhhh ohhh double header, no stop .... Blade
Baseball? Never heard of it.... If VA/DC gets a team, I might have to figure out what this thing is.

jbooma
The team needs to be in DC, right now baseball is just trying to find a way to make Peter happy. That is why you are hearing so much of it in the news. They know the team is going to this area they have known that for years. What they want to do is try at all possible to make Peter happy. There is no metro and the traffic is already bad, so there is no way they could play out by dulles. The stadium needs to be either near the pentagon or somewhere in Arlington overlooking the dc monuments in the background.
TD_washingtonredskins
Jbooma that would be sweet (something overlooking the monuments of DC). I wouldn't mind Dulles either though since I'm sure a Metro stop would accompany a new stadium. I live in Fairfax so that would be pretty cool to have baseball nearby... chiefhogskin48
I wouldnt support a team if it wasn't located in the District, preferably downtown.

Golgo-13
Peter Angelos is a reprehensible human being. He is also something even worse than that, he is an attorney...

Posse81
I agree with Booma, a team needs to be in DC. I would root for a Northern Virginia team, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

TD_washingtonredskins
Don't get me wrong, my preference would be DC as well. However, I'm not going to be too picky these days...

More Complete
NOOOOO!!!! Traffic in Dulles is bad enough. Same with DC now that I think about it. I've got to get out of this over crowded wasteland
UtahSkinsFanatic
I don't see baseball in Vegas. Yes, the Casinos have lots of cash to fill the luxury boxes but in order for baseball to go there, all of them would have to eliminate gambling on games. At this point I don't see that happening. Predicto
Damn this is stupid. Baseball teams should be downtown near mass transit where they can revitalize a community, not out in the burbs where they require huge parking lots and create traffic headaches. The great ballparks are downtown. Wrigley, Fenway, Camden, Pac Bell, PNC... that is what you want to have.
Vegas-Born
Vegas is just not casinos and conventions. Tons of us actually live there and have regular average joe jobs. Plus--all those conventions in the summer...you can't stay in a strip club for a whole week. I really think that a pro ball team would be so succesful that other pro clubs will follow. jenmdixon
Gak. I am just trying to imagine how putting a team out by IAD will be an asset to the NVa region. Uh, traffic out here sucks NOW...imagine adding another 30k+ cars heading out that way during the week or (gawd forbid) a Friday night. There's no public transit - buses are NOT going to do the job and rail out to IAD is a pipe dream - and jeez the Toll Road and 28 are already parking lots starting at around 4:30 in the afternoon. Not to mention that other unmentioned part of enjoying baseball - there aren't a whole lot of bars out that way, and there isn't much of a night life...can you imagine putting that out in cleaned-pressed-and-starched Ashburn/Sterling/Herndon? Yarite. I can hear the NIMBYs screaming already. Angelos needs to sit down and shut up. The Yankees and Mets both have good (great) attendance and they are close to each other...10 miles or so apart distance-wise. If he's smart (and he's not) he'll realize that over time the teams will become regional rivals (even though they are not in the same league) and the game only benefits from fans CARING about the games...argh!!! Just thinking about this irritates me. Put the team in DC. Near a Metro stop (or build one for it).
