WASHINGTON — A group of 21 former military and government officials told a packed house at the National Press Club stories worthy of a whole episode of the The X Files Wednesday.

These men in suits spoke of high-speed saucers, crashed ships, alien bodies and conspiracies of silence. The eyewitnesses came forward at the behest of the Disclosure Project, a non-profit research group dedicated, as head Steven Greer says, to "working to fully disclose the facts about UFO's, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems."

Since December, Greer has deposed more than 100 witnesses and logged over 120 hours of tape in his search for proof that aliens are, or have been, among us. He brought with him four hours of video tape and a parade of former Air Force, Army, and Navy officers and air traffic controllers who swore up and down they had seen things.

Prepared for the public humiliation often cast upon people who claim to have seen aliens, they related stories of lights on the horizon and objects in the sky that would sit idly for a few minutes before taking off at speeds unattainable by human aircraft.

"We went down from 30,000 feet to 1,000 feet where the UFO was hovering and went into a steep dive and actually exceeded the red line of the aircraft, so it's kind of dangerous chasing UFOs," said retired Air Force intelligence officer George Filer. "Any case, I was able to get the UFO on the aircraft radar at about 40 miles, and you could see a light out in the distance. And as we closed, we kept on picking up this radar return."

Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Clifford Stone said, "We've told the American people that there's no such thing as UFOs...I've been involved where we have recovered these objects. We know them to be of extra-terrestrials.

"I was involved in situations where we actually did recoveries of crashed saucers, for a lack of a better term, and debris thereof," Stone said. "There were bodies that were involved with some of these crashes, also some were alive. While we were doing all this, we were telling the American public there was nothing to it."

Nearly all of the men's experiences happened while they were working for the military during the 1960's and '70's. They told of standing orders they uniformly received -- report their experiences to NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, never write anything down, and pretend it hadn't happened.

Greer said the group wants Congress to hold hearings on the prevalence of UFOs.

"We can prove through the testimony and documents that we will be presenting that this subject has been hidden from members of Congress and at least two administrations that we are aware of, two presidential administrations," he said.

But Air Force spokeswoman Gloria Cales said the stories Greer is trotting out are not true. In Operation Blue Book, the Air Force studied 12,618 reported UFO sightings between 1947-1969 and found plausible explanations for all but 701 of them. And of those 701, she insists, there is no evidence that they were extra-terrestrial in nature.

Greer said that since the aliens aren't hostile, there's no harm in recognizing the evidence, unless, of course, it means scrapping plans "to weaponize space," something aliens apparently oppose.

Greer said there's another reason to be up front about the phenomenon.

At 3:50PM today I flipped the TV to Fox and caught the last 30 seconds or so of a guest of Sheppard Smith state that the US Govt is preparing to anounce the existence of "extraterrestial beings" and I believe the said something to the effect the we were either "communicating or interacting" with them in some manner. I believe that the odds alone favor that there is other intelligent life out there.

That doesn't mean I believe that every funny set of lights in the sky is a alien space craft.

I believe that many of the sightings are misidentifications, many belong to us and are actually new aircraft being tested.

But I also belive that a few may actually be alien spacecraft. I've never seen one, but there seems to be some interesting pictures and sightings from credible witnesses.

I can say this, if the government does know that there are aliens that visit earth, I know they would keep it secret from the population.

As much as I'd love nuclear fusion or other near-infiinte supply of energy, does anyone think that would really end conflict on the world? Sure, it'd take some of the teeth out of governments that fund terrorism and might even kill their hold on their people--but, many conflicts are about "Sacred land" or ethnic nationalism or religion. There are still some economic system wars out there with Commies and fascists and the like, but those are pretty minor generally, these days.

Interesting video. The pilots didn't seem to freak out (I speak spanish btw) which is odd because I would. If I was flying around and spotted that junk I would go after them.

That's what always strikes me about these video the pilot seem to stay back, maybe it's the smart thing to do but come on, we want want better pictures!

Imagine this. It is the summer of 2001, and someone presents you with a script for a movie or book that tells how a diabolical terrorist plot unfolds wherein both 110 story World Trade Center towers and part of the Pentagon are destroyed by commercial jets hijacked and flown into those structures.

Of course you would laugh, and if you were a movie mogul or book editor, reject it out of hand as ridiculous and implausible, even for a fictional novel or movie. After all, how could a commercial jet, being tracked on radar after two jets had already hit the World Trade towers, make it through our air defenses, into the most sensitive airspace in the world, and in broad daylight on a crystal clear day, slam into the Pentagon! And this in a country that spends over $1 billion a day to defend itself! Absurd, illogical - nobody would swallow it!

Unfortunately, there are some of us who have seen these scripts - and of far worse things to come - and we are not laughing.

One of the few silver linings to these recent tragedies is that maybe - just maybe - people will take seriously, however far-fetched it may seem at first, the prospect that a shadowy, para-governmental and transnational entity exists that has kept UFOs secret - and is planning a deception and tragedy that will dwarf the events of 9/11.

The testimony of hundreds of government, military and corporate insiders has established this: That UFOs are real, that some are built by our secret 'black' shadowy government projects and some are from extraterrestrial civilizations, and that a group has kept this secret so that the technology behind the UFO can be withheld - until the right time. This technology can - and eventually will - replace the need for oil, gas, coal, ionizing nuclear power, and other centralized and highly destructive energy systems.

This 5 trillion dollar industry - energy and transportation - is currently highly centralized, metered and lucrative. It is the stuff that runs the entire industrialized world. It is the mother of all special interests. It is not about money as you and I think of it, but about geo-political power - the very centralized power on which the current order in the world runs. The world is kept in a state of roiling wars, endless poverty for most of Earth's denizens and global environmental ruin, just to prop up this evil world order.

As immense as that game is, there is a bigger one: Control through fear. As Wernher von Braun related to Dr. Carol Rosin, his spokesperson for the last 4 years of his life, a maniacal machine - the military, industrial, intelligence, laboratory complex - would go from Cold War, to Rogue Nations, to Global Terrorism (the stage we find ourselves at today), to the ultimate trump card: A hoaxed threat from space.

To justify eventually spending trillions of dollars on space weapons, the world would be deceived about a threat from outer space, thus uniting the world in fear, in militarism, and in war.

Since 1992 I have seen this script unveiled to me by at least a dozen well-placed insiders. Of course, initially I laughed, thinking this just too absurd and far-fetched. Dr. Rosin gave her testimony to the Disclosure Project before 9/11. And yet others told me explicitly that things that looked like UFOs but that are built and under the control of deeply secretive 'black' projects, were being used to simulate - hoax - ET-appearing events, including some abductions and cattle mutilations, to sow the early seeds of cultural fear regarding life in outer space. I write this now because I have recently been contacted by several highly placed media and intelligence sources that have made it clear to me that hoaxed events and story-lines are imminent that will attempt to further ramp up the fear machine regarding UFOs and ETs. After all, to have an enemy, you must make the people hate and fear a person, a group of people, or in this case an entire category of beings.

They aren't really ET at all. They are us, from the future.

Much like we study and study our past, our future selves come back and probe humans from our time, simply to learn more about our evolution.

It's just that the "prove god" thread is back. Some people will believe anything which is troubling.

Yet these spirit-being believers mutter "cuckoo" in a falsetto voice when someone says they think live aliens are probably watching us... so I'm curious, do they also mutter "cuckoo" at their coworkers and neighbors when they talk about invisible spirit-being angels? Or do they just smile and say "bless you?"

If ET's are out there they/them would have to travel and navigate through the vastness of space to get here. Even at the speed of light we are talking thousands of years just for a one- way trip. Why would they expend such resources just to come and see us puny humans?

Our first contact with ET's won't be face to face. More likely to be a signal, a "cosmic phone call" if you will, for lack of a better word.

As far as UFO go I don't know what the heck they are but sooner or later somebody outside of government is going to get one.

I guess for me, I find it odd that so many can believe in a mystical magical god that created everything and controls everything, BUT, the though of that same god creating living beings somewhere else in the universe is totally off the wall.

I think that's hilarious, it's usually the most conservative people that are the most deeply religious yet they are the most skeptical of other life.
