OrangeSkin
Geez, if Bailey is worth that to them, what the hell was the 2nd round pick for? That's Barry Sanders/Joe Montana in their prime type of money right there. Ray Lewis got an 18 mil bonus, but he is arguably the greatest LB of all-time. I don't think Champ is even close to that level. This could work out beautifully for the 'Skins. I'll be rooting for Bailey to fail miserably. Larry
Originally posted by bsmsss boston globe reporting that bailey has agreed to a 6 yr 53 mil deal with 18 mil signing bonus--27 mil paid out in first 3 yrs Based on thise numbers, his minimum cap hit for this year will be $3.5M, and his average hit for the first three years will be $6M/year. (And, if he plays out the contract, his average hit for the last three years will be $12M/year). Love to know how a team that's supposedly $5M over the cap this year, before signing any of their FAs (or Champ), plans to do that.
EvoSkins
I agree with Orangeskin. If Denver gave him that kind of money, why the hell do they need a second rounder for? I think we got tricked into giving more than whats needed. CP will not get even close to that type of contract.
terpfan
maybe they demanded the #2 to make up for how much they had to overpay.
