The part that really got me shaking my head is that they had the gall to sue the rental car company in part because the car "ran out of gas".

That part is really ridiculous, I hope Haskins' family do not get a dime out of this lawsuit and have to pay lawyer fees for nothing

This is about getting insurance payments.  Insurance companies figure out what it will take to defend the suit and then make an offer to minimize their expense.  Sucks, but that's our legal system.

Well they are suing FDOT. Its a shame that some lawyer even agreed to take this mess on. It will just bring more embarrassment to the Haskins name in the end.

Their meal ticket had a premature and very unfortunate end.  Now they are going to try to get that money by other means.
