Eric Williams acquired from Detroit for running back James Wilder. Tim Johnson acquired from Pittsburgh for #4 draft choice. Fred Stokes acquired in Plan B free agency from the Rams. This is one of the reasons I have been incredulous regarding the Redskins moves on the DL to try and upgrade the unit since Gibbs retired. Over the hillers such as Bruce Smith and Leonard Marshall. Overpaid teletubbies Stubby and Wilky. The ever-Godly Sean Gilbert. All that money. ONE defensive lineman taken in the first round since 1992. Pathetic. He was a Falcon fan and didn't want it. I guess he was to PO'd to throw it like the 'Skins fans were. Man, that was one of the coolest things I've seen during a 'Skins game. Damn!! I miss those days. bulldog Posted December 24, 2003 Share Posted December 24, 2003 all the moves by the Skins front office over the years has shown there IS a recognition that there is a problem what has been lacking is the smart personnel move that brings in a player that is productive and consistent vis a vis the contract that he is offered. we overpaid for Stubby and Wilky. we overestimated what Marshall had left in the tank. we failed to lock Gilbert up after we traded for him in 1996 and only by the grace of God himself were we able to climb out of this mess with two #1 picks thanks to the stupidity of one Dom Capers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
