skinsmarydu
I know the women's game is slower, yada yada...but this match between Gauff and Seigemund is really something. They're pulling out some amazing shots. Joker up next after this, gonna be a long night and I'll be dozing off, I'm sure.
skinsmarydu
Coco had a "Serena moment" with the umpire, I encourage folks to look for the highlights. Big thanks to BJK for her fight for women's prize equality 50 years ago, Michelle and Barack are there. Currently, Novak is just crushing this poor kid. skinsmarydu
OMG. Apparently, some version of sickness is in the tour. Thiem just took himself out, and there's the rumor that it's spread to the female locker rooms. This isn't good, and we have unvaxxed Novak roaming around. skinsmarydu
Belay my last, if anyone cares I'm seeing the updated time as 7, don't know if that's pre-match analysis or not.
skinsmarydu
Man, great so far. Both men holding serve. Sasha spun Alcaraz all the way around twice, once on an ace & once on a net point. Outstanding. Hope he can keep it up. Edit, add: I'm biased, and I think of Alcaraz as a Rafa Wannabe, but the kid couldn't have beaten Novak at Wimbledon if he didn't have chops. He's already rippin' some Rafa angles...and just broke Sasha. Edited September 7, 2023 by skinsmarydu
abdcskins
Medvedev wins first set tiebreaker! That was an excellent set to watch. Alcaraz hits forehand missles but Medvedev plays excellent defense. Medvedev has really good speed and racquet/hand placement. There were some ridiculous rallies at the net.

Seriously, if anyone can take Alcaraz out, it's Med. Novak couldn't at the Wimbledon final. Gonna take some serious moxie that only a Russian has.
abdcskins
Yeah his serve is fantastic. That second set was easy for him. No one really saw this coming, Alcaraz was a big favorite.

skinsmarydu
Not to be judgmental, but I thought she should've given BJK a little love or something while being handed the trophy.

skinsmarydu
Nick Kyrgios is a color commentator for the Gauff/Parks match. He was told to be on his best behavior. He's only responding when asked his opinion, and is extremely cordial and analytical. (Even when they made fun of him, showing him absolutely KILLING a racquet after losing to Federer) : "We miss you, Rog!" Classier than I'd ever believed. abdcskins
Shelton vs. Tiafoe today in the Houston final should be a good one. Tiafoe has been up and down recently, but I think he takes this one.
