Awesome
I've been checking out some mock drafts and they all have harrington going before carr now, so he most likely is out of the question b/c buffalo will probably snatch him up.
what are you guys' thoughts on how far carr will fall. personally, i like carr a little better than harrington b/c he is a bit more mobile.
do you think we should trade up if it looks as though carr will be gone by the time we pick at 18, or do you think he will fall to us, and if he does, will we take him??? Cskin
mphillips...

I kind of agree with you, I like Carr for his bigger arm and stature. Plus, from what I've read, he's a bit more accurate and puts a bit more zing on the his throws.

I just don't think he's going to be there at #18. And...I don't want to give up draft picks to move up to get him. We need every pick we have, plus some.

Of course, I wouldn't rule out Spurrier looking seriously at Kittner in the late first of second. Seems like a pretty heady kid, with an accurate arm and strength.

I guess we'll see....
Art
Harrington's performance against Colorado was exquisite. He is going to shoot up every draft chart after that. He was poised, smooth, accurate, and mobile enough. Of course, he hasn't had a personal workout yet, and he could go back below Carr after teams remember Carr is a bit bigger, just as accurate, more mobile, etc. .

At No. 18, if either guy fell to us, or, hell, even if Kittner did, I believe Spurrier needs a young QB to groom and we'd probably burn that pick for one of those guys. I would NOT trade up though. There's no way I'd want to move up in the draft. We have a nice opportunity to get a player at No. 18 and we should stick tight and make the right move there. I suspect it will be a QB of some sort, though I still back a DL of some sort.
redman
This draft, heck this offseason, will be a big test of the team's discipline. Like Art said, there are quality players to be had at #18, and we have some pressing needs at other positions, notably on the other side of the ball from Spurrier's offense, such as the defensive line. If we reach for a QB at #18, or if we trade up, it's going to be very telling about how the Redskins organization remains a rudderless ship IMHO.

BTW- why is Kittner rated so high? I've been very unimpressed with him when I saw him this year.
shamaran
It's becoming more clear that Dano will have the player/s he wants, regardless of price or impact. And with him scouting the QBs coming out of college, personally, he will probably go after one of the top two.

If you were a GM and knew this, wouldn't you hold out for what you could hoodwink Snyder out of? I sure would. I'd say Dano would give away next year's top pick to move up and get either of the QBs mentioned here. If he's got Cerrato again as a "yes-man," Vinny will simply endorse the move.

Who knows, maybe Carr and Harrington will become the second coming of Montana or Baugh. Time will tell.

I'd much rather either use the 18th pick on a DT or DE or trade down for more picks. Kittner doesn't make my socks go up and down either.
Die Hard
I've never seen such varying mock drafts as this one upcoming; probably partly because the workouts have yet occur.

But there's sure doesn't seem to be a consensus #1. Heck I don't even think you'd even find a consensus top 10 right now. Though I'm sure that will change after the workouts.

But it certainly gives some prospect to the possiblity that a very good ball player will be available when the Skins are on the clock. Dirk Diggler
Art

I'll fu**ing hurl if we draft Kurt Kittner. I'd rather have Davey and his 10 cent head any day, although I don't see a redneck like Spurrier taking a black QB. Sad but true.

Dirk
Art
I don't endorse Kittner, I just think it's possible. I prefer Davey or Leftwich myself, but, there may be something to that Good Old Boy thing that might not go for such talk.
NavyDave
Leftwich has those McNabb/Culpepper intangibles but we better look Linemen first.
Ernie5
Leftwich is next year. Carr & Harrington will not be there at 18 & moving up for them would be wasteful. What's this dumping on Kittner, though? I think he's a slightly larger Drew Brees. I probably wouldn't take him at 18, but I'd trade down a few spaces & consider it b/c I think he's ideally suited to run Spurrier's complex, get rid of the ball quick offense. Probably better suited than Davey or Leftwich, but I don't think Spurrier's Tennessee background would preclude him going with a black QB.
Art
I haven't seen a ton of Kittner but in neither game I saw was I overly impressed. He seems adequate, but, he doesn't excite me. He likely would, however, be a better fit in a Spurrier offense, though, I think I've read points against Kittner being that he is not a very good timing passer. That could be misplaced, I don't know.

ADF
Houston, Buffalo and Cincinnati are the only teams before us that I see possibly taking a QB. Buffalo seems to be the most likely. I could easily see one of those QB's falling to 18 but there is no way that I'd trade up to get either of them.
@DCGoldPants
I don't see Houston OR Cincy taking a QB.

The Texans are going to get a vet like Rob Johnson and then gamble of a 2nd round QB.

The Bungles are still burning from Akili Smith even though I think he could be a very QB good somewhere else.

I'd say the odd's of us getting one of those guys are 3 to 1. Soliloquy
I agree. No chance of the Texans picking a QB with their round 1 pick.
