Byebye
I'm trying to think back for the last couple years and I feel like our record is pretty bad.. Did I miss any? Here are the games I remember: Loss - 2012 Week 2 - Rams Loss - 2012 Week 3 - Bengals Loss - 2012 Week 5 - Falcons Win - 2012 Week 6 - Vikings Loss - 2013 Week 1 - Eagles Loss - 2013 Week 3 - Lions Redskins had a drought of defensive TDs during the Zorn years and during that time I felt like if we scored on Def it would be a huge indicator of a win. Based on this evidence I guess I was wrong.... I wonder if this is phenomenon is league-wide, or just for the Redskins. What are your thoughts on this? BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
Probably just an odd stat.
gibbsfan2018
I think Ryan had one against the G man in 2011 and we lost. ICBW
NoVaSkins21
This was brought up last year too when things weren't going too well either. It is an odd stat, but to me the offense has to be potent to the point where a defensive TD is a bonus and not a necessity.
redskins4ever28
Ryan had one against Giants in first game of 2011, we won that game 28-14, we actually swept the giants that year and thats the year they won the SB lol

Of course..but one would think that getting a bonus would mean more wins =)

TD_washingtonredskins
We won in the NFC Championship Game of 1982 and 1991 with defensive TDs!! It does seem like we tend to lose just as many as we win under Shanahan when we score on defense. 2010, week 1 vs. Dallas: Hall fumble recovery - Win 2010, week 7 vs. Chicago: Hall interception return - Win 2011, week 1 vs. New York: Kerrigan interception return - Win 2012, week 2 at St. Louis: Wilson fumble recovery - Loss 2012, week 3 vs. Cincy: Jackson interception return - Loss 2012, week 5 vs. Atlanta: Kerrigan interception return - Loss 2012, week 6 vs. Minnesota: Williams interception return - Win 2013, week 1 vs. Philly: Hall fumble recovery - Loss 2013, week 3 vs. Detroit: Hall interception return - Loss Overall we are 4-5 (.444) under Shanahan when we score on defense. That's a slightly higher winning percentage than we have overall under Shanahan (.412).
santana_4_prez
Winning just once in the last 6 games. WOW.
illone
Personally I think it's just one of those quirky things that has not helped the Redskins in those particular games because of a few factors. 1. The offense stinks 2. The defensive TD happens too early in games to "seal the deal" so to speak. 4th qtr Def TDs are much better than 1st quarter ones.
