gchwood
So I was reading on the Colts message board today about the comparison to the 1998 draft to this years link. Most Colts fans are obviously against Griffin and are comparing him to Leaf, and are using his declining of an individual workout, to show that he has "character" issues. So the question here is, are they just showing blatant homerism or is that a legitimate concern? Because he is unwilling to work out for the Colts, does that mean he has nothing left to prove, or does he have a huge hole in his game? Now obviously we are conditioning ourselves to accept RG3 as our man, but what if the Colts were to take Matt Kalhil (obviously not happening), would we want RG3 or Luck? Hitman21ST
Hm...he graduates High School and College early, is about to get his Master's degree, grew up in a military family, calls everyone "sir" or "ma'am," and every coach he's ever had has lauded his character and leadership. Now he declines a workout because he doesn't want to be a part of Irsay's farce and he has character concerns? Indianapolis fans aren't exactly the brightest of the bunch (spoken from experience - four years of college an hour north of the Colts). The ONLY way Griffin is comparable to Leaf is that they're both the #2 draft pick. The comparison ends there.

grego
there was a footballoutsiders or profootballfocus article that had a comparison of that draft and these 2 QB's. even though at the time many, including the colts, were conflicted about who to take, the authors of the article said that, according to their stats,(in retrospect, since they didnt have a formula developed at the time) it wasnt close. (another kind of formula that uses things like comp %, # of games started and change in production from jr to sr year). they would have given manning a very high grade, but not leaf. now, for colts fans to hate on rg3 with these ridiculous assertions is just silly. Champskins
He was on the advice from his agent to decline ALL personal workouts with teams, not just the Colts. There was enough to be seen at the Pro Day. Comparison to Leaf, SMDH, who comes up with this crap? Don't get Bleacher Report started...
