Great Redskins finishes

Not to take anything away from ST's fumble recovery against Dallass, but....I got to tell you that Darrell Green bangin' into Darrin Nelson and knocking the ball away to seal the win against the Vikings in the NFC championship game was probably the best finish ever.

Ever.

I will never forget that moment...I jumped over our coffee table from a dead-sitting postion landed about 4 feet in-front of it screaming for about a minute over and over, "THAT'S IT! IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER!"

Against my better judgement.:D

Dude, I love that game. I was 15 and I had just had heart surgery the Thursday before that game. It was all the nurse could do to keep me calm. I was in Children't Hopsital on Michigan Ave and I swear even with windows, I could hear the crowd from my hospital room.

I was watching the '86 Skins highlight tape on Hulu last night and it showed plays at the end of the Vikings game at RFK where we were down by 2 TDs late but came back to tie it (apparently with two scores but with two missed PATs!) and then win in OT with Gary Clark spinning away down the sideline. I didn't see a whole lot of the '86 season being away at college in PA but I can imagine that was a wild game.

It was alot of fun. I have fond memories of that 86 team. One of my favorite teams and seasons.

And here is the great finish to the 86 game in San Diego.

I remember that game like yesterday too. I was also 15 and my grandfather had just had a mild stroke and I was visiting him in the Hospital at the Navy Academy. He had a little 12 or 13 inch TV in the room and I was glued to it. My mom was trying to get me out of there but there was no way I was leaving until that game was over. I don't ever remember a game as intense as that one.

Those videos are gold! Thanks.

Love Moss' comments about hating getting hit hard. (paraphrased) "I saw the ball coming, and I saw that guy coming, and I was like oh nooooo." LOL. Love Santana and the way he plays.

edit: Great whole thread.
