hockeysc23
Hey, Pappa Cannon likes Cab Sav so I thought I'd pick up some red for dinner tonight something from Total Wine. We are having steaks and lobster tails. Son Cannon (me) knows diddle about wine except that he likes Cab Sav too. Any suggestions for a good 30-40 dollar bottle? Something better that's cheaper? Something better that's more expensive but not too much? Bonus round for any good cigars that would pair nicely. Thanks!
The 12th Commandment
Caymus was about $60 the last time (and only) I bought a bottle. It's really, really good IMO.
Corcaigh
Not knowing what inventory your local store has, the best option might be to see if there's someone competent to offer advice in the store. Failing that check out the Wine Spectator list: http://www.winespectator.com/contentimage/wso/pdf/Top100list2009.pdf Funnily enough, their #1 wine of 2009 is Cabernet Sauvignon priced around $27. Corcaigh
I know there's a member here who owns the Ashburn Wine Shop - maybe a search and PM would also help.

Zguy28
Cakebread Cellars Cabernet is very good! It will run you about $60 for a 2006 vintage which is pretty good.

This is a great bottle of wine, I had it last night at EVO's in Mclean so I highly suggest it. Silver Oak is also a good bottle as well.
