Will be there again this year walking, had a good time last year...Thought it was really ironic last year when all the homeless people were surrounding the street begging for money.

I wonder how awkward it is to turn a homeless person down when you're doing a walk for them.

Survival of the fittest and all.

Don't kid yourself, It could happen to you too. No one wakes up one day and says, gee... I think I'll become homeless.

Things happen, people lose jobs, evil landlords illegally change locks, plans fall through.

Good luck with that survival of the fittest stuff!

Cool. A few others from ES were there last year. I've taken my family every year for the past 6 years.
It was a beautiful day and it was a great turnout. The metro was full this morning and 99% of the people got out at the Smithsonian stop. There were thousands there to donate and walk for the homeless.

I was also able to get back in time to go to the send off at Redskins Park.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for what you and other kind souls did for the homeless. I was homeless once and every little bit of kindness helps. Don't think for one second that the man upstairs does not take notice!

Thanks to all the other posters on here and many others who showed up to help also!

Thank you!

Not to mention how many of the homeless are stricken with mental illness.
