scruffylookin Posted October 19, 2009 Share Posted October 19, 2009 I think portis is 6th or 7th in rushing yards if I'm not wrong. I think he has 450 yards in 6 games. If that is true, it's a freaking miracle with the garbage he has around him. On the run, I like Clinton using Sellers as interference on the last guy but I don't know why he never tried to cut in. No way the guy could change direction, especially with Sellers shoving him, and tackle CP. It looked to me like CP was winded and basically was hoping that Sellers could escort him to the endzone. All Sellers had to do was knock him out of the way or to the ground. Sellers of a few years ago would've totally jacked him up. Doesn't seem like Mike plays with the same intensity anymore. It seemed like he just gave up. Nice run...but seriously..you have to score. This team cant get much right. Say what you will...I have been a big Portis supporter...and I know this post is a GOOD JOB CLINTON thread..but individual stats matter little..wins do. You need to cut back upfield regardless of what kind of runner you are. Excuses are becoming the norm for this team. Someone needs to make a play. Did you see Portis celebrating on the sideline after his big "run"?? For being the highest paid back he should have stayed in the game and finished off the drive, like elite runners do.... This team has no heart...no pride. The Line may suck but if players gave better effort I think I could live with the result...but thats not so.
