CAPT_CHAOS47
Has anyone been to vegas? If so can you recommend a certain hotel or activites, beside gambling. Something on the romantic side. This will be my first time out there and would like to get some ideas of what to do. Thanks in advanced for the help!!

I dont get it hehe Actually if you read it, i brought up the question because a soldier was telling me about his wife cheating on him on his last deployment and the guy is a wreck... And i stated that "A mistake" is not a acceptable reason. So i wanted to get others input on it. And, how can he carry on for the next 15 months thinking about his wife cheating...and it has to be a mind screw. But on the other hand i can see where you might have thought that..No problems! Special K
3 nights...just me and the wife Well dang, 4 grand for 3 night opens up quite a bit for you and your wife. My favorite upscale hotels are the Wynn and the Bellagio. You could get a nice room at either of those hotels for a few hundred dollars a night. As for places to eat, my favorites are "Stack" in the Mirage, and "Fix" in the Bellagio. "Olives" is another good place, it's a little more pricey, but if you can nab a table on the patio, you have an amazing view of the fountain show at night. They don't take reservations for the patio, so you have to wait a bit, but we always just sit at the bar and drink martinis until the table is ready "O" Cirque du Soleil is a fantastic show too, that's in the Bellagio. Of course, you and your wife can also get spa treatments at any of the hotels you stay at too. I highly recommend Bellagio's spa, it's awesome. It's a really cool show, with crazy acrobatics and water and stuff What kind of room did you stay in? I've stayed in a penthouse suite with a group of girlfriends a couple times, and it was super nice. I've never stayed in a regular room, but I suspect they are fabulous as well, everything at the Bellagio is pretty nice.
DeanCollins
CC47 for that kind of dough you could go to Hawaii for a week. A 3 day trip to vegas could be well done on less than half that budget.

Burgold
Hit everythingHoover, Grand canyon tour, downtown laser show. Shows ... for almost nothing. This is the plan. My favorite trips to Vegas always extended beyond the casinos. Have a day for gambling and clubbing, but then go down to Red Rock canyon and do some river rafting. Or go see a show and wander amongst the casinos, then go to Grand Canyon. You can do it on your own or with a tour. I took a tour and the great thing was the helicopter ride through the Canyon and the ride back. Awesome sights and memories.
SnyderShrugged
A lot is going to depend on what you are into. There are things for outdoor active people(in nature), there are the "dark side" erotic/adult things and places, there are touristy things like the Elvis museum, and so on and so forth. I used to live there. My favorite casinos were the off strip ones like Green valley ranch and Lake Las Vegas. All the posh, but less crowding and hubbub. If you like, PM me with what you are into and I can at least tell you what was available a few years ago.
Thiebear
Whats the downtown laser show like? How expensive is the grand canyon tour? http://www.looktours.com/ look for bargains as you have time. Research the week your there and find out what shows are going on and get coupons etc. Treat it like a job before you go so you can relax when your there. Kosher Ham
I liked taking the helicoptor flight over the city at night. It was relatively cheap and really cool to fly over seeing all of the hotels lit up. Again, as someone else stated it depends on what you are into. To me, seeing a dam or a giant hole in the ground would have been a waste of my time.

Kosher Ham
...but that's because you have no soul. The Grand Canyon is visually awesome and intellectually intriguing. It's called sin city for a reason. I can see pictures. Like Mt. Rushmore to me, I have no desire to go there...the pictures are just fine. I like doing things like going to the zoo or whatever, but to waste half of my day just to see a hole in the ground ? Please. I would rather go see Lance Burton or O. Burgold
I'm kidding around with you, but honestly, the pictures aren't the same. There's a different feel and a different look in person. It is worth seeing. Of course, I find that true with a lot of nature. In person is better. It's sort of like the opposite of super models. Usually, they look so much better photographed and should never be seen in person.
Thiebear
That hole in the ground still ranks up there in my mind after 15 years... I've been everywhere... black sea, venice, russia, china, seoul, istanbul, the wall in Germany.
