Pie are round.

Cake are square.

And I still remember the formulas for taking the derivative of a fraction. The notation you use is that the derivitave of the fraction F, is dF. To remember the derivative of the division of two functions, you start with the original expression

Hi

Ho

("Hi" and "Ho" are functions. "Hi" is the one that's "on top".)

The rule for the first derivative is:

Hi Ho dHo - Hi dHo
d( -- ) = ---------------
  Ho Ho Ho

(It's read as "Ho de high - high de ho", and so forth.)

The rule for the second derivative is:

Hi Ho Ho Ho ddHi - Ho Ho Hi ddHo - 2 ( Ho dHo dHi - Hi dHo dHo )
dd( -- ) = -------------------------------------------------------------
   Ho Ho Ho Ho

(There's actually an extra "HO" in each of the expressions, but it cancels out.)

For some reason, that is very hard to work into a conversation. :)
