This is the best site I have found that shows Super Bowl, Conference Championship and other College Championship rings.

I had never seen the Redskins NFC Championship Ring from the 1983 season. It was actually pretty cool.

I actually wore the Kurt Knight's Ring from our SB 7 loss to Miami when I was a teenager. I met him at a Casino in Los Angeles where my mom worked.

Many of the rings have cubic zirconias rather than diamonds...it was amazing to read the descriptions to see how many players have sold their rings. Darn shame!

I'm not sure that if I even had money to burn that this would be something I'd ever buy.

It's not something you'd ever wear and it symbolizes something that someone else did.

But I think the biggest thing is, i'd own a Super Bowl ring of a player that played on the team I love and in the back of my mind i'd be thinking that for whatever reason this player had fallen on hard times and had to sell this.

Basically, my gain would be coming from the misfortune of someone else, someone that I used to cheer for.

I think it would be cool to buy and give it back to him, though he'd probably just turn around and sell it again.

Something I've always been curious about - if you win the Superbowl do you get a Conference ring and Superbowl ring or just the Superbowl one?

No. Conference rings are only made for the team that loses the Super Bowl.

I think most teams choose to do this, not aware of any team that decided to not make a conference championship ring after losing the Super Bowl.

i think its sad that a player worked so hard to get a ring to be a show of their hard work and dedication and then they turn around to sell it...

^^^ Even players fall on hard times, especially players in years past that didn't make the kind of money guys do now. That and a lot of ex players aren't taken care of for all of the chronic injuries they have in later life. When it comes down to quality of life, a ring doesn't mean much.

To have ring replicas on display in cases if you have a Redskins room or something would be cool, but I personally wouldn't wear one.

hmmm maybe it would be cool to buy it AGAIN then and give it to him AGAIN.

:silly:

This reminds me of seeing Raven Caldwell on a flight from Dallas to Pittsburgh in 2000. I had a first class flight paid for by a company I was interviewing at. He was wearing his 1991 SB ring.

Pretty cool to see.

I have a family member that bought i believe it was either the 82 or 87 superbowl ring from a player who fell on hard times and he has tried to sell it back to the player once things improved in their life but said player is only offering about half of what he sold it for. And this ring has also allowed my family member to talk to joe gibbs about it and gibbs has sorta talked to him about buying it from him to return the player.

That's neat. If you could find out who it was that would be interesting.

The 83' NFC Cham, pionship ring looks strikingly similar to the 82' Super Bowl ring.

My personal favorite is the 87' Ring...i't uniform and balanced. Plus, it was probably the most unexpected given that we were just 11-4 and San Francisco was clearly the best team throughout the season and we had to go through Chicago and have Minny beat the 49ers.
