hitmandm
or however you spell it. The only way we trade Carlos Rogers is if we can sign this UFA and Hall and can trade CR for a 2nd round draft pick.
#98QBKiller
Oakland will definitely franchise him this year, especially after letting go of Deangelo Hall.
Hitman#21
There Tagging him, hes a great player but i think all out money should be spent on Suggs, Haynsworth, and Oline help.
Streater101
What would be the point in breaking the bank for him when we could resign Rogers for less. He'll probably get a deal along the lines of Samuel, who got what, 18 mill guaranteed?
fire3fighter4
Oakland will definitely franchise him this year, especially after letting go of Deangelo Hall. 1. Nnamdi Asomugha (1) Season Total: 29 attempts, 4.97 YPA, 62.07 Forced INC%, 0 TDs this guy is good. I would love to have him, but theres no way in hell we'll get him. ------------------------------------------- 14. Carlos rogers: Season Total: 101 attempts, 5.83 YPA, 47.52 Forced INC%, 4 TDs Rogers has improved significantly this year, can't wait to see him improve more next year. MrJL
There Tagging him, hes a great player but i think all out money should be spent on Suggs, Haynsworth, and Oline help. Can Suggs play 4-3 OLB? Because I want a DE who's not an end-backer tweener.

Stew
There Tagging him, hes a great player but i think all out money should be spent on Suggs, Haynsworth, and Oline help. I agree with this. I don't think we will be able to get both Haynsworth AND Suggs, but one or the other and some O-line help is what Im looking for. However, if we had it in us to land a fish like Asamough, then Id try. It would provide us the luxury of having arguably the best corner in the league. Id rather have Suggs and haynsworth though. Yeen80
Asomugha is probably the best cover corner in the NFL. No way Oakland can be that dumb and entertain the idea of letting him go. But then again, they are the Raiders and are "committed to excellence" :toilet: That being said, I would LOVE having him here, but realistically it's doubtful. Why cant we have both Hall and Rogers play cornerback and dump Springs? Smoot's best days are clearly behind him
Streater101
They're franchising him.1. Nnamdi Asomugha (1) Season Total: 29 attempts, 4.97 YPA, 62.07 Forced INC%, 0 TDs this guy is good. You'll never in life hear me argue that Carlos, or any corner in the league is as good as NA is right now. but I don't think it would be wise to invest that much money into the corner position when we're mediocre up front. It would be more economical to just resign Rogers.

Streater101
I heard that per an agreement, they can't franchise him Yep. NFL players who are franchised now doing it upon agreement that they won't be franchised again the following year. Haynesworth has a similar stipulation. That said, if we're going to break the bank on a corner, it might as well be our own.
hitmandm
Even if they don't(which I haven't heard this) theres no way we'd be able to afford him. It is a recession...crosses fingers. That has lowered contracts for baseball
chipwhich
How about instead of constantly picking up free agents from the biggest LOSER teams in the league and picking up players not used to winning....how about going after players who KNOW how to WIN. Every year we pick some scrub up from a team that is a losing team. They get here and suck. If he is so good, maybe they would have won a few more games. Thanks. That has lowered contracts for baseball theres no cap in baseball. there is in football. the only way we could afford him is if we were to cram most of his contract into 2010 which might be uncapped. But if it ended up being capped we would be screwed.

chipwhich
A scrub?..He's arguably the best corner in the league............. I never said he is a scrub. There is something to be said about picking up free agents from winning teams vise picking up free agents from losing teams. We always choose the latter. There are reasons these teams are losers, and it's not always to do with talent. I am tired of us cherry picking from losing teams. It hasn't done use much good. How did Dre Bly do for those Broncos?
