mistertim
Hey all, If anyone can recommend a great artist in the area (anywhere in VA, DC, or MD, I'm willing to travel) please let me know. I'm mostly interested in someone who is very adept at black and gray with good shading technique as well as custom work. I'm not too worried about the cost; I'm more interested in quality and ability to work with me. If anyone has recommendations please let me know. Thanks! GoSkins561
Very professional and clean shop, Eric Brooks is very talented and takes a lot of pride in his work being original. http://www.classicelectrictattoo.com/ One of my very good freinds owns another shop in Frederick, just a few doors down from Classic Electric/Eric, I would reccomend Classic Electric for what you are looking for. Eric has never done any work on me however he did my buddies back piece (see below), which is a good combo of b/w and color. He mixes all of his own colors and everything is original. Based on other peoples tat's from other artists, I would consider Eric to be one of the best in the area, his work is crisp and error free, worth the 45 minute drive to Frederick. http://www.classicelectrictattoo.com/eric-brooks-tattoo-portfolio.html#
GoSkins561
Ah, what the hell, I have to throw a plug in for my freind. Here is some of my buddies (Capt. Gordon) black and white work. His shop is a couple of doors down from Classic Electric. http://www.timebombtat2.com/gallery.htm The good thing is, both of these shops are right on Market Street in Frederick, which is a great part of town, you should take your time to visit both shops. Koolblue13
Those are solid tattoos. BTW, it's black and grey, not black and white.
GoSkins561
Those are solid tattoos. BTW, it's black and grey, not black and white. Thanks for correcting me, yeah both of them are really good. I have seen a lot of bad tattoos, my buddy with the back work has a lot of sick work from Eric Brooks. All you need to do is look at the lines, if the lines are at all shakey, the artist wasn't very good. Only perfection from either of them. If the OP has an idea on paper Gordon or Eric will do a great job, if he wants something designed, Eric does a great job, as seen in the back piece. PM if you would like to use my name with either or both of them.
Stew
Look up Jason Camford if you are in Northern VA. Best advice you will get. If I still had his number or adress Id PM you with it, but I cant seem to find it right now. Google him or look on myspace.
RVAbrendan
Jason Hobbie in Richmond VA is one of the most demanded (if not the most) artists in the city. He works for absolute art and also has his own place.
