AKM311
http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ HALL EYEBALLS LONG-TERM STAY WITH THE REDSKINS Posted by Mike Florio on November 7, 2008, 3:19 p.m. One major factor that drove the decision of cornerback DeAngelo Hall to sign with the Redskins is the possibility of doing a long-term deal in D.C. “It’s a one-year deal for now, but we’ll work something out long-term,” Hall told Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com. “That’s why I chose them. I don’t want to hit the market in the offseason and have to move my family again this year. Per a league source, the Redskins want Hall to prove that he can be an asset in the locker room, and that he can return to past form on the field. If/when that happens, they’ll lock him up for the long haul. In the end, Hall picked the Redskins from a pool that included three other teams — the Patriots, Ravens, and Jets. The packages, we’re told, were roughly equivalent. Click the link for the rest.

AKM311
That's what I like to hear. Exactly! I am glad they are constructing it this way. I also hope they put in the long term contract (if all goes well) a clause stating good behavior or he owes the guarentueed bonuses back.
BigMike619
Im down. If he shuts up, puts his head down and plays lights out ball like we KNOW HE CAN, then by all means I would sign him. not to the crazy money that Cokeland threw at him but I would definitely pay the man. Maybe he can teach Carlos how to NOT drop easy pick 6's..
RiggosMohawk
If he's really looking for a long-term deal with the Skins, his play over the rest of the season basically determines our draft in April.
hitmandm
This is the perfect situation. This opens our first round draft next year to pick the best player available--which may be a corner.
CPortJGibbs89
I hope they wait until the end of the season. I want to see him proove he is worth decent money.

corrupt3d
I hope we take care of Rogers first... And Campbell. And Rocky...and Monty...Golston...Reed...Sweezy...Placky... Albright...but yeah, I hope we take care of priorities before we hit Hall.
Blackest Eyes
I am glad we told him he needs to stay in line and prove his worth (essentially). Yay front office.
MWCREDSKINS
I'd love to see Hall succeed. He's young and very talented. This could be an all time coup if it works out. I'm sorry we can't count on Shawn Springs and I'd rather pay a youngster like Hall that money

Coach Janky Spanky
i think this works out great. as long as we don't give him a long term deal right away, we get a 7 game tryout from him to see how well he fits on our team. at the least, he only plays cb when someone is injured and can hopefully provide some much needed change in the punt return game. terpfan
I actually have a good feeling about this. Could be a Moss leaving Oakland type deal.
cphil006
Hall was a Redskins fan anyways... He is an awesome athlete. I remember him in High School.
mrs_pink
Does anybody else have the feeling that Hall is going to play lights out for us considering that he will be a free agent in the off season?
dez_mick
One piece of advice for D hall. DO NOT mention a certain player from Atlanta who is currently on lockdown. 'Cause we DON'T want him! Other than that just shut up and play ball.

mrs_pink
yeah, and Im worried that we will hand him a bucket of cash and he will go right back to how he was... yeah, I worry about that too. It seemed like he was really terrible in Oakland after they gave him that 70 mil contract!

The fact that the redskins were chosen over those organizations is a testament to what is happening here in DC

It seemed like he was really terrible in Oakland after they gave him that 70 mil contract! but I guess you take a chance with anyone. Look at Plexico; he was all nice and well mannered last year and then BOOM!! gets paid in NY and becomes a pain.
