xavmit
Is the playing surface at FedEx Field Turf or Grass? It is labeled as Field Turf on the press release but standing on the sidelines for the Jaguars preseason game it looked as though I was standing on grass. Are the sidelines still grass? 112row2
I think it is actually called Field Prescription Turf. It can drain like 8 inches of rain per hour. Definitely the real stuff
Mr. S
Grass should be in all stadiums. Congress should pass legislation to make it as such. Grass is the way football was meant to be played. Field turf, though more realistic, is nowhere near what real grass is.
ttr77
Its grass, with an insane amount of engineering involved.

That actually would be the most significant legislation passed in the last 15 years. You got my vote Mr. S
Grimm
If it was field turf it would have those little black rubber balls in it.

MadiSkins
Actually asked this question to one of the ushers at the game Sunday. He said it was definitely real grass but couldn't remember what kind. I'm guessing Bermuda.
Skinzaddict1983
I asked one of the guys on the field to pick me a piece of it after the thrashing we put on the cowgirls.. (yes, beer had an influence on me wanting a blade of grassLOL), and he told me he would get in trouble for picking me a BLADE OF GRASS!!!! I was like, that blows... Larry Brown #43
I was at the last Skins game ever at RFK. After the game, everyone went down to the field to grab some of the turf. There wasn't much grass down there--it seemed more like green-painted dirt.
Cooley4President
Grass is the best if it's managed correctly, but unfortunately field turf seems to be the way many teams are moving.
Ray Brown
Grass is the best if it's managed correctly, but unfortunately field turf seems to be the way many teams are moving. grass is expensive and tough to manage, but if done well is very nice. Field turf is in the long run cheaper, easier to maintain, and prevents more injuries.
Khun Kao
Its grass, with an insane amount of engineering involved. Correct! I've been on the field, too, and it's definitely the real McCoy....
