Anyone else a bit disappointed w/ Thomas?

Not at all, he had Collins throwing to him which first off, Collins didnt even look to his side of the field for the majority of the time. How can you catch anything if your QB has his head fixed to one side of the field. Second, the 2 times Collins didn throw to him, they were horrible throws and the first one, Thomas has his man beat but Collins has no arm and underthrew him allwoeing for the DB to knock it down. The second pass Thomas hauled it in but Collins threw it too far out of bounds for him to get both feet in. I am ok with how Thomas did for his FIRST game.
:bsflag:

Lowery has position on Thomas on the first pass, as replay and commentary "Dwight Lowery has very good position" (ahead of Thomas) shows

IF Collins under throws chance for a pick

Thomas had BOTH HANDS on the ball jumping over the DB (and unlike JC its a GOOD thing the ball was high)

Good play for both, except Thomas needs to hang on

With 4:54 left in the third DEVINE leads Thomas out of bounds

Collins had good reads and good dumpoffs and two 1sts dropped by WRs

If you are going to throw TC under the bus......get the facts straight :2cents:

You are basing it off of NEW YORK JETS commentary. Of course they are gonna say their DB was in position. Thomas had a step on Lowrey. That ball is thrown over Thomas's outside shoulder and he makes the catch easily.

First frame of replay from endzone, Thomas's front foot is where Lowrey has his back foot

Lowrey's body is blocking out Thomas's from the Endzone camera (is ahead)

From the first frame of the sideline camera at the 35 (shooting behind) I see Thomas's body blocking out Lowrey's (again Lowrey is ahead)

Collins lofts it over the DBs head and Thomas gets TWO HANDS on it

They both land out of bounds

What kinda pass are you expecting when the DB has position AND the edge of the field is right there?

It was a well thrown ball

You also didn't admit to getting the other play wrong

does it matter about the other play who threw it? it was still a bad throw. sorry almighty correct one about everything. get over yourself. that ball by collins should not be thrown where it was. it should be thrown moer downfield not pinning him to the sideline

Thomas has both hands on it

Get over your Collins hate

Collins blows, plain and simple. If JC goes down we be ****ed. Collins didnt hit Thomas in stride he had to turn around and jump for the ball. Let him run under it and catch it. Bad throw!

When you use the "Collins Sucks" argument to defend Thomas.....

And that "Collins Sucks" argument has holes........

You Bet it matters

Collins does suck, he has not progressed in this offense at all. He looks worse then a career backup. BOTH of the balls that were thrown to Thomas were bad throws. Collins, Devine, Campbell or Brennan doesnt matter who it was they were bad balls. Thomas does a good job of hauling in the second on even tho he was out of bounds. A couple feet narrower and he makes the catch in bounds. The first one, he throws the ball over his outside shoulder and lets him run under it, its a huge gain. Bad balls by both QB's and Thomas did all he could do with what he was given.

Thomas was not ahead of Lowrey

Where do you get this?

Because Thomas had to turn around and jump for the ball. He didnt jump out he jumped back. He had to turn around for the ball. Instride means he can stick his arms straight out in front of him to catch the ball, not turn around and jump for it.

Never said he didn't

But your argument about Collins not getting it done is wrong

Oh

If it wasn't for Collins, JC would have been holding a beer at home instead of a clipboard on the sidelines in Seattle

Hopefully JC learned himself some LEADERSHIP :2cents:

If you cant see that the only reason Collins did well was because he knew the Saunders system after spending 15 years studying it then your are blind.

What makes you think that Jason didn't already have "LEADERSHIP" skills?
Collins success during the end of the season run

Comments by players about JC "gaining confidence"

"Is he (JC) ready?" Zorn asked. "He's very ready in some ways, and he's not as ready as Todd would be in other ways (Plural). But that's the difference in a young quarterback and a veteran quarterback on the same team. " July 2008

Collins does not have that "Experience in the system" advantage....So

What does Zorn see that JC lacks?

LEADERSHIP....comes with Confidence

you need to make a lot of assumptions to make your statement true

Yup I assume nobody is going to say "JC can't lead a thirsty horse to a lake"

Let me ask you what Zorn ment?........

What does Todd bring to the table that JC lacks if NOT Leadership?

Its a new system for both so the BS argument about knowing the system doesn't cut it here.

Thomas almost made two spectacular plays. Devine's throw was very outside and I thought Devin's knee came down first inbounds. Collins threw it up for grabs but the defender had terrific position.

Thomas saved it from being a pick by going up and making a play on the ball. If he had turned his back to the defender and went up facing the QB, he could have secured the ball, but he tried bringing it down in the defender's face which makes it far more difficult to make the play.

He looked like a rookie, good physical skills, didn't know exactly where to line up on some plays. On coverage his speed looked good and, athletically, that he could almost make those receptions was impressive.

He has a skill set similar to Andre Johnson, give him time. The haters/skeptics will be singing a different tune after this rookie WR, who has missed 2/3rds camp, gets caught up to speed.
